#Screen tearing in game.
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I mean by, compared to other games the screen seems to be alot brighter, Not like white screen just like its doing some full screen optimisations or something
something seems to be pretty shot. are you able to check the monitor OSD and see if the brightness setting is rendered inaccessible when it happens?
Im actually completely not sure, it seems to be this specific game every game is fine but this game. I have uninstalled it, as well as checked if any external apps tried to do something.
I could send a video example if that helps
sure
Watch Untitled and millions of other Minecraft videos on Medal, the largest Game Clip Platform.
if you want how its supposed to look i can send it too
but u might have to slow it down because it isnt as noticable on recording
do not use screen recording software. this one needs to be shot with a phone camera
since we need to determine if it's the software or monitor
if possible, if your camera has a pro mode, use it and fix the exposure
(shutter speed: 1/60, ISO: high enough to look normal on the desktop without blowing out everything)
Open the monitor's OSD while the computer is in the desktop. Report what refresh rate it is in, and if relevant, if HDR is turned on or off.
Then, replicate this situation, and open the monitor OSD again to report what's in there.
monitor is 240 hz
now check ingame and see what it says
the game doesnt have an option like that, however i have noticed it only happends when the game full screens
it does that
monitor OSD, not in-game
If you are unsure, provide the model name of the monitor
since it looks like you don't know what that is
bro just dumb talked me
because this reply is incorrect
I'll need the monitor model name to get you the location of the monitor's OSD/menu buttons
gimme a moment
I have found the monitors menu button however it doesnt provide the refresh rate.
aw2521hfla
figures, the model was scuffed
idk why it ended up like that
probably didn't take
even if it was the monitor why does it happen in 1 specific game?
Games can and sometimes do set their own display settings
usually happens when a game is fullscreen exclusive or using a different display mode than the desktop
telltale sign: when launching or ALT-TABing, the screen goes black
yes my first thought was fullscreen exclusive
now, what's the contents of Display Info while the affected game is running
it only shows information: just select the option
Select "Display Info" and show the contents here
alright. now launch the affected game, and then show the same thing
any ideas how to prevent this?
for the affected Minecraft installation, are you using any mod loaders?
Yup i am using lunar client.
are you using fabric along with it or something else?
Yup it only happens with fabric.
OK. Then check sodium settings
In sodium settings, for each resolution you select you can select it 60Hz or your display's frequency (for vsync basically), check if it's not put on 60Hz
screenshot now
or I think I'll see if Minecraft works properly for myself tbh, might take aw hile though since it's been a while
I think I'll install both lunar client and regular minecraft+fabric+sodium side by side
aight
make sure launch in fabric on lunar
yo
When testing fullscreen windowed mode vs exclusive fullscreen mode the performance of an OpenGL application is approximately 50% lower when using exclusive fullscreen mode compared to fullscreen windowed mode. Both CPU and GPU usage are lower when using exclusive fullscreen mode. Vsync is disabled (and the framerate is observed to be higher than...
found this from a while ago
interesting?
OK, plain vanilla Minecraft with no mods works normally (uses desktop resolution and refresh, borderless, respects vsync on)
now to check with fabric+sodium
ok
ok, the manually installed version works as expected and there's no refresh issues
now to check lunar
just to be sure, you got it from here, right? https://www.lunarclient.com/
Lunar Client is the free all-in-one modpack available on all versions of Minecraft that enhances your gameplay experience by providing you with all of your favorite mods, settings, and cosmetics!
of course
The video settings menu is completely different.
did you launch in fabric?
it also has to be in the newer versions when sodium was released, such as 1.20.1 or 1.20.4
