#Don't got nvidia gpu?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
They don't always show up in task manager on a laptop because of how the GPU switching works. Do you actually have an issue?
Yes
It's only using the intel gpu
so im averaging way less fps in games
also some other problems I saw were
me unable to open the nvida control panel
and not being able to do anything else on geforce
other than look at this
I downloaded that update multiple times and it still wont work
is there no solution to this
what the problem
Nvidia gpu isn't showing in task manager
nor is it being utilized
Then how it's showing in device manager
I can see it in device manager
but it's not in task manager
and it's not being used
I don't know how to fix it
when did you notice it?
hm
I check task manager and see GPU 1 not even in it
Let's try this
open cmd as admin
yeah
cd c:\windows\sysWOW64 lodctr /R cd c:\windows\system32 lodctr /R
now open task manager
Reboot your system for last time
okay gimme a minute
Maybe changes need a reboot to work
okay
it has a triangle on it now
then right click and select scan for hardware changes
ahh
go to properties and show me the error
laptop right?
some would say it's dead
oh
is the bios updated?
I dont know what that means
open msinfo and show me system specs
the whole page
yeah
ok give it a minute, its downloading
i downloaded it
and it's just in the background
just wait
drivers scan now
drivers scan?
yeah
whats that
it should automatically install drivers for you
support assistent
Okay let me check
It's telling me it'll take 10 minutes.
Ill ping you when its done
sure
thx
It told me to download these, which I'm doing currently
Hopefully it fixes my issue
The bios should hopefully
others dont matter except PCIe
Okay
well
after downloading it and rebooting
it still has the triangle
@frigid warren
Nothing else I can do?
Code 43? If you've done everything you could do with software, it's done for
I see
luckily though the 1060 Max-Q is so old that just about any new laptop with a 2050 or better is faster
Alright I'll get me one of those
if possible get at least a 3050 6gb if you can afford it
or 4050 6gb
or consider a desktop
#build-list
alr
note that the build list suggestions there pre-date the release of 8000 series Ryzen APUs and the 3050 6GB desktop version
so you can, indeed, build a new gaming-capable PC for a bit cheaper than the lowest PC build there
Okay thanks for the suggestion
yeah 43 basically means the hardware isn't recognizable..
I'd recommend getting the RTX 4060 build as listed there, but if your budget doesn't stretch there, see if building a 8000G APU-based build, or an i3+3050 6GB works better for you
if it has to be a PC
Yeah well the dell support didn't do much
for some reason the nvida control panel still wont open
so I think I have to give up on it
@fallen stratusSince you updated bios and other drivers I need you to try DDU tool again to uninstall. Then install the driver back in normal boot
Ok
GeForce RTX 3050 6GB in first test ComputerBase purchased the latest RTX GPU from NVIDIA. Yesterday, NVIDIA unveiled its latest graphics card, the GeForce RTX 3050, equipped with 6GB of VRAM. This announcement wasn’t entirely unexpected, as there had been speculation about this SKU for over two months. However, the specs were only finalized in [...
DDU tool?
Yeah
Download and launch the DDU installer from the Wagnardsoft website
Extract DDU.
Boot Windows into Safe Mode
Launch DDU and select the NVIDIA driver from the drop-down menu
Click "Clean and restart"
Wait for DDU to remove all the drivers and restart your computer
Install your driver again
Btw what do you recommend for $500?
Give me a second, ima eat and come back to this
What storage is inside your laptop
you can likely gut it if you don't intend to keep using the laptop
SSD or HDD?
You actually have two drives, a 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD
However, a 128GB SSD is so tiny
oh okay....
I'd probably just leave them inside the laptop
alright
whoever did the partition nice job
it looks suspiciouslyl ike 2 drives
128gb+1tb
idk it was built in the laptop when I got it
when I got it I only had access to the 128gb space
but I went to a tech store and he activated the 1tb drive which was already built into it
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MBbwpB (You'll need to add your own video card. A 3050 6GB rings up $169; a 4060 $299.)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
With current pricing, the 3050 8GB, 3060 8GB, and 3060 12GB aren't worth it new.
You could get a Radeon 6600 XT for $263, too, if that's your cup of tea.
yeah it is. Disk management can confirm
Why
Pc or laptop? If it's pc then reseat your gpu back
If the laptop GPU is defective, driver installations won't work as it won't respond
No NVIDIA GPU is detected on your system
