#Is this artifacts problem?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
If artifacts show up within a recorded video, it's not the display cable or the monitor
Do you undervolt your GPU?
If you did, undo it
Same for if you overclocked it
i never played around with gpu settings. it's on stock settings.
it's just recently i have been experiencing artifacts for some reason. i dont know why.
lmao overclock shit
change every setting back to default in bios, msi after, nvidia 3d settings
Try disabling in-game tessellation too
nope! I never tweaked any settings to overclock it. it's already over-heating on stock when playing more demanding games. I also dont have watercooling system for it. i dont have MSI afterburner installed anyway.
I decreased shader detail to minimum. the artifacts dont show up anymore.
however im still concerned about the artifacts. I get them sometimes while im on desktop with no game open.
You should have mentioned this "overheating" thing in the first place. What temps?
Since I am very sure that 36C is nothingburger
You should check what is going on with a game that actually can max out the GPU
Checking with a really old game is meaningless
Recently started having similar on my 1070 Amp Extreme of a fresh Win 11 with zero tweaks and OC. On any settings in OW2 besides low (and any other games). OW2 starts showing random white dots that become more and more frequent, then streaks appear, then the game crashes. The finals crashes if I try to enter any match instantly. The only solution so far I found to make it somewhat stable was to add +10 core voltage and -200 mhz core freq. I'm lost since I cant find any other suggestions
I suspected the same thing but he said he didn't touch any OC settings hm
@molten night try disabling gsync and test again. I've seen others having this issue with latest driver and g-sync
neither did I, its running at factory settings
negative offsets help with stability
Stop troubleshooting. Dying card. Warranty.
it turns out my PSU died. I had to order a new one.
it was making sparks when turning it on.
@hasty brook
Ahhh this is really strange
Common signs when PSU is failing:
Won't power on.
Bluescreens or completely freezes seemingly randomly, slanted more towards gaming or rendering.
Resets or powers off when launching a game, or during gaming.
Boot loops.
No Post/Video
Failing fan sounds from PSU.
Smoke.
Tripping the power surge when turning it on.
also
Artifacts: If you see strange visual glitches or distortions in your games, it could be a sign that your PSU isn't providing enough clean power to your graphics card.
Driver crashes: Frequent driver crashes during gaming can sometimes be caused by power delivery issues.
I didn't know about the artifacts. Glad you figured it out
well, there it is
hopefully the cpu failures are a symptom and not the cause
isn't his system supposed to fail when stress testing? since psu was buggy af?
yeh, I think the overheating was a psu issue aswell, since it doesnt provide enough power. I had EVGA PSU for like 4 years, still on 10 year warranty.
i even did GPU benchmark and it was ok. the artifact glitches wasnt constant but sometimes at random moments.
Make sure to check back if the PSU replacement worked or not
for me its not the PSU, I'm not sure why you told me to invoke warranty on a 7 year old card
Might be some crossed wires here as you are not the OP here
@coral gazelle
(Did you meant to reply on another thread?)
I meant this
sorry if I misunderstood
I was just trying to figure out what suddenly happened to my GPU that was never OC or mining and stopped working after I switched my old 4770 to a 7800x3d
but yeah, if negative offsets help, the chip's already at the end
to possibly avoid said problem in the future
