I am pretty sure your laptop maker likely mega cheaped out on the HDMI port
And most older laptops likely route everything through the iGPU
So you're basically stuck with it
Does it have a USB Type-C port that is listed as DP capable?
If not, you're basically SOL. Return the monitor, or replace the ancient relic of a laptop
how can i see that ?
and i will keep the screen because i got it for cheap
its gonna work but i wouldnt be using 165hz
Check your laptop's specification sheet or page, or check your laptop's ports for a type-C port. Not all such ports are capable of DP; sometimes these ports are unmarked too
If you are unsure, assume no
(Can you show a screenshot of NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage physx?)
(It shows how the connectors are routed.)
You're SOL
Nothing is routed from the dGPU
So just live with 60Hz until you can get a better laptop or PC with an actual port
ahh man
i swear
everything is broken on this thing
do you know like how would cost a good pc for gaming but also not expensive
Desktop or laptop?
