You could try disabling then re enabling the gpu…

#

But I think 90% chance the gpu is dead…

thin birch

ill restart

thin birch

i experienced the same problem. i got error code 43 and "you are not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gpu" message popped up when i tried to open NVIDIA control panel which is also not in the list when i right click my mouse on dekstop. i can open GeForce experience and can download updates, but i cannot press "Home" button.

Recently i performed so many updates (4 years worth of updates which i cannot do because of my Disk C is full) after i recently added new SSD to my notebook, clone windows to that new SSD and boot it from that new SSD. so i thought that this might be the cause. i opened device manager and see that GTX 980M have that yellow exclamation mark. i have performed so many method that i can found online, which is listed below:

  1. using DDU and perform clean installation
  2. update drivers from device manager
  3. using troubleshoot from control panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers > my PC (in this method, troubleshooter noticed there are problems in my GPU but cannot solve it at all)
  4. checking whether there are something wrong with my cables inside my notebook, since i performed cleaning and installing new SSD recently. but this is not the problem at all
  5. changing back my SATA configuration from AHCI to RAID which only lead me to BSOD

all of the method above didnt work. after that i tried to turn off my antivirus (which is Avast) and perform clean installation once again as last resort since i already gave up and start to accept that i cannot play game and perform editing using photoshop on this notebook. and you know what, it works!!!! it seems that antivirus is deleting files when i installed the driver and caused errors. maybe you can try this solution

#

look

#

i have avast installed i deleted it now

thin birch
#

yeah proly a deadd gpu nothing works

#

ill go see a guy who fixes laptops
