#RTX 3080 memory temperatures in the mid 90's at full load

I have an RTX 3080 that was pulled from an HP prebuilt. The core, memory and hotspot temperatures were high so I opened the card up and put new thermal pads and repasted the GPU. The core and hotspot went down significantly but the memory was still high at full load. I undervolted the card and the hotspot and core went down even further but the memory was still the same, around 95-96. I used 1.0mm Gelid thermal pads.

I took the card apart again and checked to make sure the pads were all making good contact and even pressed them with a roller to make sure. Still the core and hotspot are fine and the memory is the same.

At this point I just want to know if it's ok to play games with the memory at a steady 96 degrees. Also do you think 1.0mm pads are too thick or thin for the memory and that's could be why the temps are still high?

You'll see a lot of people arguing about this because Micron haven't been very good at stating the Max Temperatures.

But the memory is generally ok up to 110C.

If it goes above that temp your GPU will automatically push the fans to 100% so you will be able to tell.

I have a 3080 FE which isn't brilliant on memory temps, on gaming though it tends to stay below 90c, but I've done some AI Workloads where it's pushed it beyond 110c, which is why i know about it going to 100% fan.

Thanks a lot. My concern is if I'm doing any damage to the lifespan of the card but if the memory can handle it then I won't worry about it. Thanks again.
