4090 Display Port 1.4a vs 4K 60Hz monitor Display Port 1.2

Given the 4090 supports version 1.4a of display port, could there be issues using it on a 4K 60Hz monitor which only supports display port version 1.2?

I have had issues using the monitor on an Xbox Series X which only has a HDMI port, because the monitor does not support a recent enough HDMI version for 4K 60Hz so I get locked into 1080p. I was wondering if this issue could end up being the same on the 4090 due to the display port version mismatch?

I mean I don’t know but usually nvidia GPUs are good at not having these issues
