#upgraded from 1070 to 4070ti - Why do some games look blurry?

Hello, I have upgraded from my 1070 to a 4070ti on my same 1080p monitor. While yes I’m getting a ton more fps, why do my games look blurry? It literally looks like the image is being downscaled from 1080p. I checked my settings ingame, nvidia control panel, geforce experience and everything looks good to me. If I go ahead and upscale games to 2k or 4k however, the image quality gets fixed, as it looked on my 1070 at 1080p res. Why might this be? Games im referring to are cyberpunk 2077 and COD modern warfare 2. Noticeable a bit in forza horizon 5 as well. This is not the case in lost ark however. Looks completely the same from my old gpu. Im really confused. Please advise

Dlss maybe?

# sudden geyser Dlss maybe?

When DLSS is off, which im checking that it is, should the game not look the same as it looked with my 1070, obviously without dlss as well?

Without dlss, yes it should look like it looked before

#

I'd also ddu and install latest drivers from scratch and go from there

Might have to give that a try

Used ddu and removed everything, reinstalled geforce experience, opened cod, went in a match and instantly could tell it was not fixed

#

Dont get me wrong the game looks great with upscale or dlss, but why on earth doesnt’t 1080p without dlss look like how it used too?

I don't know but it's very rare to have issues with resolution regardless of what GPU you're running

#

It must be some kind of option or setting somewhere else

#

Try different ports, both monitor and gpu

#

Plus does it look fine on desktop and videos?

Yeah im going to have to see what other options I can explore. And yup its only certain games that I play, it looks fine everywhere else, including desktop and videos

Ok, that shows that GPU is fine and it's something else, also try looking if there's fsr settings or adaptive resolution or FPS target in on of the games that have issues with resolutio

#

Also you can delete config files of games that have issues so it reverts to default settings (hidden settings+ regular settings)
