#Nvidia Driver Updates keep lowering my Display Memory - VRam !

Hello ..
i have an RTX 3050 ti laptop GPU with 4 GB of VRam ..witch is 4096 mb

after updating my GPU driver to the latest version DirectX is showing me that my GPU Display Memory is only 3978 mb ... i tried to make sure thats not a reading mistake from/to the system .. so i made a benchmarks with different programs , the benchmarking showed that i have 3978 mb of VRam only !! witch is not understandable !!
Here is every Driver version and how much VRam-Display memory it gives me after update :

  • Driver version 512.95 (stock driver for my laptop) = 3993 mb VRam after update
  • Driver version 526.98 = 3978 mb VRam after update
  • Driver version 527.56 = 3978 mb VRam after update

Need help for why that is happening or how to avoid it..

if you run out vram at 3978 you'll also run out on 4gb

Use nvidia-smi to see actual available amount to applications

i think its the Nvidia Resizable Bar.
i deep searched a little bit i found that if Nvidia Resizable Bar is supported It takes part from the the VRam of the GPU.. Example : if you have a 4 GB VRam.. in DirectX and GPU-Z (AdvancedTab) you will see that you have less than 4096 mb.. maybe 3993 mb only it depends on the current driver installed at that moment.
