Can you reproduce the problem if you run OCCT 3D test?

Check temps, vram temps, hot spot

haughty socket
# tawny root Check temps, vram temps, hot spot

okay, so i looked it up a while back, the internet in several spots said 70-75 degrees is safe (celsius) should i try to figure out some way to keep it colder?, like would 70 be enough to crash it?

tawny root
#

Have you been checking your temperatures and with what?

#

Hotspot temperature as well?

#

Use gpuz

#

Stress test and watch gpuz temps

#

You'll go over 70-75 I'm certain because it's a laptop

haughty socket
#

its not a laptop

tawny root
#

Nevermind, mixed you up with someone else

#

But doesn't matter

#

Have you been checking temps

haughty socket
#

i used msi kombuster and it usually sits around 75C

tawny root
#

What about vram and hotsot

#

hotspot*

haughty socket
#

around 2300 on ram

#

i think thats what your talkin about

tawny root
#

Temperature

#

Use Gpu Z or hwinfo

haughty socket
#

oh alright'

#

give me a bit then

tawny root
#

Alright

#

Psu?

haughty socket
#

psu?

#

was dat

tawny root
#

Power supply

haughty socket
#

oh

#

i have to check

#

ios there a easier way to without opening up the pc?

haughty socket
tawny root
#

No, afterburner only has base temperature

haughty socket
#

oh

tawny root
#

You have a portable version

#

No installation required

#

Run stress test for some time

#

While checking temps on gpuz, and screenshot even and send it here

haughty socket
#

aight

#

running stress test rn

#

whats a hot spot tho

tawny root
#

Hottest reported sensor

haughty socket
#

uhhh

#

84C

tawny root
#

Not accurate 100% but will give a fair reading

#

Keep it running more time

#

Whats gpu usage?

#

I expand the window, there's more data down

#

And run stress test for 20 minutes, also make sure gpu load is at 100

haughty socket
#

it is

#

aight brb

tawny root
#

You sent a screenshot when your card wasnt at load

haughty socket
#

alright give me 20 mins

tawny root
#

Alright, don't forget to expand gpuz window so I can see more readings

tawny root
# haughty socket alright give me 20 mins

You can do even more that 20, you can stop when you reach maximum stable temperature (let's say it reaches 75 deegres celsius and it doesn't go above anymore for some time)

#

And tell me what power supply you got

haughty socket
#

seems stable around 85

#

how do i look at the power supply, do i have to actually open up my pc

tawny root
#

Yes you have to look in pc, big square thing

#

I'll check gpuz just a min after i finish something

haughty socket
#

i just checked the place i got it from and it says the power supply is 600 watts max

#

do you need the exact powersupply or just the wattage?

tawny root
#

You don't have to, it's fine

#

Can you screenshot your msi afterburner window?

haughty socket
#

i already closed out the stress test

#

do i have todo it again?

tawny root
#

No

haughty socket
#

aight thank goodness

tawny root
#

Open up windows search and type view all problem reports and expand every instance and send screenshot

#

What games crash?

#

Also, you're not using latest nvidia drivers, I'd suggest to update since they did have some issues with their drivers, still do but most critical issues were fixed

haughty socket
#

any game that i turn the graphics up on crashes

#

the game either closes out or my pc locks up and then restarts

tawny root
#

Update gpu drivers

#

Open up event viewer

#

Expand custom views and go administrative events

#

Sort by level, so errors show up on top

#

For some reason I can't see your screenshot

#

Text looks like it's cut off

haughty socket
#

that work

tawny root
#

Yes but I can't see anything

haughty socket
#

too small?

tawny root
#

That's how it looks like

haughty socket
#

oh

#

that work?

tawny root
#

Yes

#

You know when did the crash occur exactly?

haughty socket
#

no

tawny root
#

Also select top 7 instances and screenshot each one

haughty socket
#

does that work?

tawny root
#

Oh what

#

They dissapeared

haughty socket
#

they all say the same thing

tawny root
#

Hmmm

#

This issue, you started having it recently? The crashing.

haughty socket
#

nope

#

had it since igot the pc

tawny root
#

Ok, what motherboard

#

Also hop in device manager and send a screenshot

haughty socket
#

where do i see motherboard in device manager

tawny root
#

Motherboard you can't

#

You can use hwinfo for that

haughty socket
#

there

#

is that everything?

tawny root
#

Yes, just send a screenshot when you open up device manager

#

I'll be away for some time, will message when I return

haughty socket
#

uhm

#

what else do you need tho

#

because havent i aleady givin you like everything?

tawny root
#

Just the screenshot when you open up device manager

#

Open device manager and send a screenshot

haughty socket
#

but why

#

what else do you need

tawny root
#

Do you want me to help or no? I want to check of everything is as it should be

haughty socket
#

ik

#

but i just want to know what else you need from this

tawny root
#

I i need to see if you have any devices that aren't functioning properly

#

When you run occt 3d test, it crashes instantly or after some time?

haughty socket
#

nvmn its fine, il just have to figure something else out, thx for the help anyway

tawny root
#

I just don't know what's so worrying inside device manager, it's literally your hardware and drivers
