Java minecraft works for Linux, if you want the win version you're going to need to set up a wine environment.

I use KDE and Discover has a few minecraft launchers
i can play java but I was looking to play with my bedrock friends, but ig Ill do that for now
Yeah so the lutris version seen above basically uses the mobile version to play bedrock and that's the only way, otherwise you're playing Java
