#enable gamescope greyed out on lutris

Could you just type gamescope into terminal and check if it gives something like command not found?
Also if you cant find the gamescope button I think you need to enable advanced options slider on the top right of the settings pane
And go to system
'No CAP_SYS_NICE, falling back to regular-priority compute and threads.
Performance will be affected.

@blissful sail it says this when i type gamescope into terminal
@blissful sail and I have advanced options enabled
can you run vulkaninfo?
check which package provides that in your distro
its vulkan-tools on arch
please mention distro and check if your drivers are installed correctly
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope/issues/497 take a look at this
its not exactly the same issue but it has the same first line
@blissful sail installed vulkan via terminal but gamescope is still greyed out in lutris
@blissful sail I've also had a look at the GitHub post it's says something at the end about Nvidia-fix but I don't know how to do it
And my drivers are on 535
installed vulkan?
do you have nvidia-utils or equivalent installed?
Try it
NVIDIA: proprietary drivers 515.43.04 or above, and the nvidia-drm.modeset=1 kernel parameter
Arch wiki says you need to set this as well
@blissful sail my drivers are 535 is that ok?
@blissful sail and how do I do the Nvidia-drm.modeset=1 kernel
Edit /etc/default/grub as superuser
add it in this line
it will be different for you
yes
@blissful sail the entire line? because I have my settings for GPU passthrough in that line so should I just add that along side with it?
No just add nvidia-drm.modeset=1 in those quote
@blissful sail does this look ok?
@blissful sail Linux mint
@blissful sail you mean run update-grub
Yes
Can you check if changed are applied before running?
Edit that file again and see if the nvidia DRM thing is there
@blissful sail ok updated grub
Restart system and it should work
@blissful sail it's still greyed out on lutris
@blissful sail I checked grub and the Nvidia DRM is there so I don't no what's going wrong?
check terminal
does it run?
if lutris is flatpak you need flatpak gamescope
@blissful sail I have flatpak lutris from the software manager on Linux mint
can you try using apt install?
or else check that issue
you need to install gamescope flatpak
before that check if gamescope even runs
@blissful sail Installed the flatpak version it now works on lutris thank you so much
mythicalnewt received a thank you cookie!
no issues
keep in mind gamescope is very finnicky on lutris
for example if you get something like SDL error you might have to disable lutris runtime in system tab in the settings
@blissful sail ok I keep that in mind once again thanks for all the help
You're thanking too much ó_ò
