1 Soviet autogyro type for artillery spotting was fitted with 3 machine guns and later on the ability to mount ordinance, as far as I can tell however these guns never fired a shot in anger and they stuck to their spotting duties.
I have been unable to identify a single other instance in history of autogyros being fitted with weapons, let alone being used in combat.
Me who just wants to larp the Vietnam War
if there was a post ww2 grand strategy game id play that
that has a more fitting economic and logistic system then hoi4
Wrw dev is run by a Russia shill fyi
What is wrw
West Russian war apparently
Yup
Almost like I said they should just be used for recon 🤯
Helicopters can take off vertically which means they can resupply much closer to the frontline whereas planes have to operate from airbases, not just forward operating bases.
Yet Helicopters grew into many different roles over the 50’s and 60’s, something which could have happened sooner had nations dumped more resources into it and over a longer world war which would see more extensive field testing
Literally equipment develops quicker in war. With many HOI4 games going well into the 1960’s, it is completely logically that had the world war gone even into the 1950’s, helicopters would’ve developed much quicker
I know it may be hard to comprehend technology developing differently than real life. But HOI4 is a game full of alt history, and clearly has room for such experiences
I know, was just supporting your claim.
So can an infantryman, doesn't make him any good for CAS
Seriously, I don't see how this offsets a single one of the crippling disadvantages
Correct. And things like ENGINES are top of the list. I don't know in what world you think that 10-20 years extra engine development was missed out on in ww2 because they weren't trying hard enough.
The French were the first ones to attempt mounting weapons to helicopters, and they had huge problems with engine power. They had to keep downscaling their plans. It was another 10 years before proper gunships came into use.
I know it may be difficult to comprehend that Hoi4 has a technology system for these things, and that they do not allow you to get engines from 20 years in the future.
"if the world war had gone into the 1950s"
Question, are you advocating for heli gunships to become available in the 1950s (pretty reasonable), or in the 1940s? The former is literally impossible with hoi4 since the game's official end date is 1948, so obviously they are not going to add content after that. And helicopter gunship tech becoming useful in the 1950s in the case of a world war continuing that long is in no way, shape, or form an argument for it to be available in the 1940s.
Yes, due to development of various technologies, most importantly perhaps better engines, able to support a higher level of maneuverability, and actually mount something resembling a useful armament.
You should (hopefully) be familiar with the tech tree in hoi4. The engines do not go up to 1955 or 1960...
Nor how it is an advantage. The slow and vulnerable vehicle can resupply closer than the plane, perhaps offsetting its slower speed when it comes to travel time, while still remaining just as vulnerable and generally useless in combat?
Yeah so you just clearly aren’t reading what I’m sending at this point. I’m done talking about this with you
is bro mad?
I just can’t have conversations with people when there’s no back and forth
ah ok
rt56?
pax historia i recommend for u
I responded to every single point lol
ELITE ball knowledge
pax historia is so good except its so unforgiving on prompts
Scenarios in it go hard
i do like eu5 because of economy and population but i don't like how the war works
i do like hoi4 because of how the war works but i don't like the economy and population
😭
i mean eu5 wars is ok for 14-19 centuries but not for 20
BUT EU5 ECONOMY IS JUST GOOD 😭 😭
Is it just me or should the military theorists give more of a buff?
Like mastery gain
-10% cost for doctrines isn’t much for 90-150 op
Makes sense as war was very different in that era
The definitely seem less impactful now
Question to the community: Has anyone else experienced a supposedly historical Japan completely botching its invasion of China and even being pushed back into Manchuria? 👎🤔
Is that not what happened historically? Or you mean they never secure any coastline? Majority of my games they do well in China
Botching the invasion was historical
Getting pushed wasnt
Iirc they were actually deeper into china 1944 than in 1942
Ngl I just think China and Japan need their max stats nerfed. 15-20% div atk buffs are busted. They already have the advantage of manpower. Don’t need cracked stats too
yes and no
they did move further in but lost more and more control outside of the railways/major roads
japan doesnt even get stats in time
Idk I’ve seen Japan curb stomp China like every game
With like +20% inf attack with another 10% div attack
Icic that checks out
In my last game, Japan beat China, the USA and Germany (who had Great Britain on its side) all at the same time
With the US losing 40 mil and Germany losing 30 mil
Supremacy of the will
Trust
They were just trying hard
Nah man China and Japan need a nerf. Legit they can already do well bc insane manpower. Dont need the highest stats in the game too
Ive not played the newest version without mods but at release Japan was quite obviously stronger than China, but AI incompetence seemt to keep it pretty balanced
Do they outperform germany
In stats
Yes.
I was under the assumption they were up to par with italian and soviet trees but not as busted as germany
Thats pretty insane
I think Germany may get a better economy. But Japan has better military stats
I’ll send an image of their stats 😭
I mean considering they still havent nerfed germany id imagine usa will likely match or surpass them in strength once their update comes out
But china def needs a buff still
I feel like this is the problem
Japan naturally has to deal with a bunch of stuff the ai is horrible at doing
I’d rather countries do good at somethings and not at others.
But recently they all seem to perform well at mostly everything
I agrew
But i doubt paradox is capable of that much research
In ways comparable to Germany
But also not considering a few Japanese trees allow you to core all of Asia
So it’s like you have OP manpower and numbers with very little downsides
I rarely see Japan do serious damage to other powers unless I’m playing which I like
The west usually counters them incredibly well
They are on a clock until they die
Japan (especially with China) has decent mp but its industry is small compared to any of the other big powers and that kills rhem because they can’t really field a truly well equipped army
You touch my precious China
There will be blood

I mean the manpower is like nothing compared to china
Theyre still heavily outnumbered at least before their weird formable shit
They dont need to field an army like germany or russia
They never did
I disagree, especially when fighting those powers. The Japanese never ever can equal the combined powers of the British and U.S. navies and that on top of troop superiority means that Japans war strategy requires (just as it did historically) speed
As was the axis strategy in general
theres only so many divisions you can cram onto tiny islands and narrow peninsulas
germany and russia are fighting across a whole continent
japans only large contiguous land front is in china where they have superiority just because china is china
Japan had only 30k men in the whole Sinapore campaign of 1941-1942
Meanwhile HOI4 nations will have 100k per tile
UK had 120k imperial troops when they surrendered in Singapore
I mean that number is inflated i think
A fair amount of those were reinforcements who arrived like literally just in time to surrender
Iirc
upcoming DLC for reworked USA and commonwealth nations please 🙏
Should France have a heavy tank division at the start or should it have a heavy tank battalion in a armor division
Because Japan now starts with medium tank divisions
It really looks like you just agreed with them while saying "I disagree".
Not every old tree needs to be re-reworked man
Eh not really
Like yes the fascist oath does need an update
Its very ridiculous that Mc Arthur leads the confederacy
And yes the commie needs an update but there's not much interesting things going on with the communist party at that time
But it doesnt need a full re rework
The historical is fine for what it does
Same for the military and intervention branches
Needs more factory slots
And the communist path needs an update too given that its as unrealistic as the fascist path
I already said that
Oh I didn’t see that I’m half asleep atm
the US rn is so poor tho
Still recovering from a headcold
I get that they are alt historical but even so the way they get there is pretty dumb
Wdym poor
Agreed
Historical is fine
I think Casey means factory count wise
do the EU things in belgium come back?
trash MIOs trash mils
Just maybe a bit more expanding on the programs that the new deal gave as spirits
But also if it was accurate the US would have like 700 mils
bad build slot count
USSR; Germany and now Japan can get more factories than the usa now
Democracy 🦅 🦅
You can balance that out by making greater depression even worse for factory output and consumer goods
Since they didn't really get out of it until ww2 started
Kinda wish the communists and fascists have their own way of dealing with the depression
You can get a lot of factories as Brazil when uniting south america
and their mils are way better than US mils too lol
Another suggestion is that usa gets a focus to build a dam Tennessee as there was a major one that was built in 1936
Also some investment in puerto rico
Add an option to build what is currently the last Kentacohut there.
give USA a useful focustree first
Will Gyula Gombos die in game?
Im not a dev
ever since no step back theyve considerably changed the way they approach majors and basically all the reworks since then save for italy have been absurdly powerful
so id imagine usa will likely be given justice in terms of industry and game impact
im more concerned over if theyll do it justice in other areas and actually do proper research, since japan and china both had disappointing parts
I think it’s a tightrope
If they make America historical they will break the balance of the game and alt history won’t be possible as easily though that’s not necessarily a bad thing as I like playing hoi4 as a sim instead of a meme path sandbox but I know the community likes doing that at large
I actually think usa is the least likely to do that
By 1942 most conqeuests are finished or powerful enough to sandbox
I see what you’re saying
They could make the USA snowball
Be like a ticking time bomb
the usa is already debuffed massively as it is and it’s by far the strongest country by like 1943
if the states were the same size as european states (which would involve splitting up new england, texas, california, and probably the midwest states too) that would be another like hundred building slots
Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachussets, Connecticut, and Rhode Island from the current New England stare, and Delaware from the current Maryland state - up to 150 slots there
Of course, Rhode Island and Connecticut have maybe 5 people between them just on size alone, so I can't see them getting the full 25 slots each
By far the strongest? I’ve often seen Soviets get 1.3k factories, Germany 800-1200, and even Japan 600-900. Yet the US basically caps around 600
Even though the US industry would be like 2-3k if represented accurately
is the HOI4 wiki getting updated on the faction focus trees ?
Puppets should get their normal names
Anarchist Spain got nerfed so hard
Massachusetts maybe gets 25 slots but definitely not Vermont
?
We need more anarchy
Anarchy nations
Even conservatives have their stuff
Resistance is way worse now, so it’s much slower and harder to integrate territories. AND Anarchism uses 45% extra energy
Yeah
Can someone buff anarchist spain pls
Through decisions
And like
Buff their economy law pls
Oxymoron
who played anarchist spain because it was good, it was more like a meme, no?
Countries should avoid declaring on nuclear powers
This would be ideal lmao
And it would make perfect sense
It actually was pretty good on release but has slowly became more nerfed and nerfed
Literally just needs like daily compliance to be playable
paradox should reduce every 70 days focuses to 35 days smh
Then people will complain their focus trees are done in 1939

i'm especially talking about the new ones - japan for example
some 70 days focuses don't deserve to be 70 days :(
That is true
I was doing the army tree and some pretty weak ones were 70 days
If I remember correctly
youre not supposed to do all of it
I think impactful ones deserve 70 days but many shouldn’t be
sometimes youve gotta get through some of the real shitters to get to the good 35 day ones
Eh, for myself, it's about prioritization
You can focus on the important stuffs and relegating other stuffs down the line
If you asked me, i prefer my country leaders rule for 4 years minimum before changing. So i'll change into Hirohito at late 1940s on the earliest
Unless i'm doing a revolution.
Wish I could recommend a small change to the devs
Go on, i'll upvote it on ParadoxPlaza
Eupen Malmedy
-
Daily compliance gain for anarchist Spain. (To combat resistance changes which affect the main gameplay loop of anarchist Spain).
-
Mongolian Empire formable get expanded upon so it’s a tiered formable like Arabia and encompasses all former Mongolian territory.
Danke Danke 🙏
gng is dlcs going on sale in 15 mins for the winter sale
yes
Damn, the starter pack isn't discounted.
That's just a different formable if you are going from greater Mongolia to mongol empire. Doesn't make sense to have mongol empire cores while just being called greater mongolia
The worst thing the new dlc has done is ruin all of the map mods
Hence why I'm playing pure vanilla atm
Was this paradox's plan all along?
Eh, checked Suggestion tab on Plaza and i didn't saw your post....
But, i'll give my two cents.
- Good one
- Befits more for a focus tree formable than a regular "formable nation by decision" one
Idk they reworked the Arabia one A LOT after such a suggestion
Greater Mongolia which encompass the actual nation is good enough
Sure, there is a Byzantium, Persia, and Roman Empire, but both are outliers
There are actual Arabs at North Africa, and they divided up the original Arabia formable instead of expanding it.
Japan can core Asia (So scope is not an issue). And I’m not talking about Greater Mongolia. I’m talking about The Mongol Empire
If Chile can core the Americas, Germany coring Europe, Japan coring Asia and Spain the world, then this isn’t that insane 😂
Japan
Focus-only formable
Chile
Focus-only formable
I'll make time to make ASLIA a focus-only formable instead of tagging along with Nusantara
Both countries actually get very strong buffs which make them easier to form. That and a good base core population.
The Mongol Empire would be much harder and as a result more of a challenge/worthy of existing
Hence why I suggest that Mongol Empire should be a focus-only formable, not a normal one listed in "formable_nations_decisions" file
That would just be a repeat of the Persian empire formable which is quite honestly miserable
The current Arabia formable works much better in game
Again, I'm advocating for Byzantium to be focus-only. Greater Greece fits much more in the decision tab
What difference does it make being tied to a decision V focus make?
They have the same outcome
Same with Greater Italy being a normal formable, with Roman Empire locked behind Mussolini or the Popes as the ruler
Or just have it only be accessible for certain ideologies since Mongolia doesn’t have a focus tree
Boom solved, can still be decision
Much like Democratic France with EU
"Better to add than remove" philosophy is at play here since Paradox is a company
Although I can do it
in my mod
What use of it to add a temporary solution, only to be removed later down the line.
^
Why remove it at all? If ideology locked then could still work with future trees
Seems like you’re creating an issue so you can create a solution to it. When in reality there is already a clear solution
So your solution is to add a Mongol Empire formable in the "Greater Mongolia" decision, which later would be moved into the focus tree
Since Mongol Empire is a focus-only formable rather than a decision-only formable
Or you just don’t add it to the focus tree for a future Mongol empire path. Rather having focuses give buffs alongside it.
They already did this with Germany and the EU
You can add trees and have them work around pre-existing decisions. Don’t need to re-invent the wheel every time
EU -> European Pan-Nationalism
Greater Italy -> Italian Nationalism
Mongol-Buryat Union -> Mongol Pan-Nationalism
Greater Greece -> Greek Nationalism
Roman Empire, Byzantium, Persia, and Mongol Empire?
HOI4 is and always has been an alt history game that lets players make their own history and try to recreate empires from the past.
With what is already in the game, the Mongol Empire is completely reasonable to add
Have it form a Greater Mongolia then annex new sections through compliance.
Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth is a good example
Yeah
It was disbanded in.... 1795
Piłsudski died in 1935
Yet you can form it in game with compliance
Acceptable
It's not an insta-core
Which is my argument for The Mongol Empire
And Greater Germanic Reich can never core Moscow
Soooo
If it's a cosmetic formable, i'll accept it
It’s almost in the same realm as the Umayyad. Very hard to achieve formable for a country without a focus tree yet a fun goal for players
They should add Carthage as well tbh
It actually cores the old german borders in Poland , North Slovenia and Switzerland if controlled
Maybe also süd tyrol
It's German land.
But no they cannot core Moscow also cause it's intended to be owned by Reichskommisariat moskowien
Some of them aren't actually majority german but yes
Especially in Poland
A loose regional alliance of tribes in North Africa? Sure
An explicitly uni-ethnic nation? Hell no
Mhm
So if Mongol Empire is just a cosmetic formable which requires you to held the historical reaches of the Empire, i'll be alright.
Maybe a few more cores on the immediate lands surrounding the Mongol-Buryat lands.
But definitely not coring Omsk, if you know what i mean
Like nationalist are sorta obsessed with larping as dead empires
You'll have an easier time convincing the Corsican that they are Italian than convincing the Kuwaitis that they are Romans.
Counter argument
He can’t contemplate empires forming or alt-history. Not worth arguing about it 😂
If the Austro-Hungarian empire existed, then literally anything is possible
True
Sure, let's contemplate about the possible Turkish reaction to the Roman Caliphate emergence
(Ataturk was a resolute Republican, btw)
Unique case, and it was a federalized empire.
That’s like being “Let’s contemplate the Byzantine reaction to Ottoman’s conquering Constantinople”
If you get conquered, you really don’t have a choice
And getting forcibly integrated against their will?
Almost like what has happened thousands of times in history and what already happens in game lol
Reminder that Bulgarian focus tree got changed because of this forced assimilation thingy.
This argument legit shoots down like 90% of formables
You have to choose between what’s fun for players since it’s a VIDEOGAME. And what is possible
Which btw most formables are both
Because formables imply other lands were conquered. And any resistance is already represented in game prior to the formable either through building compliance or just occupation
This is a game meant to be fun. It’s why the Roman Empire, Umayyad, European Union, Global Anarchism, United Native American states exist
Developers have acknowledged this in countless diaries. Realism V Fun
At least the devs were sound enough to change Majapahit's name into Nusantara.
It is much more realistic
Didn’t they change what it can core too?
Used to be more pacific based but now focuses more on Southeast Asia
Still the same, like what Tan Malaka intended (British Malaya + Dutch East Indies + Timor + East Papua + Philippines)
And better to keep it that way.
Saw one in game recently where it cored Burma, Siam, Indochina, Malaysia, Phillipines, Indonesia
Might’ve been a specific Phillipines tree
ASEAN? It was PHI's formable.
Tbh, should've been democratic/communist only
Is it every ideology?
Yes
Including Bourbonist Philippines
I liked the idea of Boutbonist Phillipines but seemed cheesy how you annex people
They also updated Primo De Rivera’s picture
And you can still core Southeast Asia while being Hispanic
Not realistic at all
Just choose one.
Think it’s saying you can do that bc still the Phillipines
It’s almost like a Two Nation country in a way
A union between Phillipines and Spain. So can dip into both
Philippines can pivot into its Malay roots
Or its Hispanic identity
Doing both is nonsensical and practically no one there who lived between 1880-1980 advocating for both despite they advocating for either one.
If people advocated for either, then the opposing force would still exist even if the other was in control. And to “win” them over the ruling one could also pursue theirs
Show me Jose Rizal (the OG Pan-Malay nationalist) advocating for Hispanic Empire and i'll shut my mouth
Jose would still want Pan Malay even if Hispanic Empire was in control
Why not capitalize on it as Hispanic? Historically Spain didn’t need much of an excuse to conquer more lol
Again, the one who advocated for Spanish return was Aguinaldo (the devs got it right), and once Juan was crowned, it should've been locked into Hispanic identity
Idk man, out of every empire I think the Bourbon Spanish would be the one to try and conquer as much as possible
Same with embracing Pan-Malayism as Ricarte, Quezon, or Evangelista
What's next?
Making Indonesia able to establish a Caliphate for some reason, while also able to integrate the whole Southeast Asia?
It's fun, but Tan Malaka would hang me.
The duce is also Georgia meloni
I’d see it more as them conquering Southeast Asia and Oceania to spread Islam tbh
That sounds cool as hell
But didn’t paradox remove Iran’s Islamic conquest path?
Memepath for sure, but you'll get Indonesian historians carrying pitchforks towards you
I just think HOI4 should be fun first, even if some formables are implausible
HOI4 is a WW2 game first and foremost
Many things that sound implausible in our timeline are perfectly reasonable in others
Which is already represented pretty well
This is my argument
How far you would suspend your disbelief?
Many things that actually happened historically would’ve been implausible to people before
History is full of unbelievable conquests
Sure, let's make Sukarno a caliph
Or Suharto ruling Indonesia in 1938 (he was 17 at that time)
Bourbon France should get the Two Sicily's as either a Puppet or a Core
It’s possible. Powerful people can basically call themselves whatever they want
I mean Puyi called himself emperor as a tiny child 😂
and all the French, Spanish Colonies too
Agreed
Pinochete was fasacist leader of Chile pre TOA despite being a teen in 1936
Sure, let's apply a Chinese paradigm into Indonesia
just an unknown officer in training during WWII
Wish Bourbon France had a similar end game formable to the Spanish Empire’s Hispanic one
that too plus Quebec and New France
Glad they get rid of such ahistoricity
agreed he is only a general now
Oh for god sakes I’m saying that many things are possible.
No one could’ve expected Macedonia to conquer as much as they did under Alexander.
or Rome during the third Samnite war
In HOI4, you literally can take the world as basically any country
You yourself prioritizes fun over plausibility
Dude it is plausible 😂
That’s what we’re trying to tell you
Genuinely powerful people and nations can and have call themselves whatever they want
Right, i'll tell Megawati Sukarnoputri that "her dad can proclaim himself a caliph in this game"
If Indonesia became a hyper militarized theocracy then yeah it could call itself that
I'll be lucky if i'm not banned forever from PDIP
Vermont world domination focus tree when?
I mean McArthur can be the leader of the Confederacy and I’m not having a mental breakdown about plausibility
There is a figure who would do that, and it was no Sukarno
His family complained
with Charles Manley Smith as world leader
because Macarthur was proud of his dad fighting for the Union
IRL
Patton would have been a better fit
given how his grandfather fought and died in the CSA
Would’ve preferred a Golden Circle fascist path over the CSA one
But @fresh cedar prioritized fun over plausibility, so we ought to support that.
You’re right, let’s just remove every ahistorical aspect of the game that people enjoy
And make it a bland and flavorless recreation of real life
Macarthur should be leader of a military dictaroship not the CSA
And that's why i said "plausibility" instead of "realism"
and it should be non aligned
Because i'm not a BlackIce dev
So many of the things you attacked are plausible
and maybe have some schizo easter egg American Caesar path with America being the 4th rome
Gonna make him have a meltdown stop 😭
We can sacrifice a bit of plausibility to have fun in a game
its an easter egg path
Things such as "Soeharto ruling Indonesia in 1938"?
Yeah, totally plausible according to someone here
And it’s a literal game
Hell yeah
My dude it’s a videogame legit full of ahistorical stuff like Spain coring earth, or a Bear ruling Russia
Kaiserin Victoria isn't realisitc either as the Hohenzollerns didn't allow a female to bear the throne
Let bosnia be able to reform ottoman empire
It’s meant to be fun 😂
Yeah, this.
Don’t give paradox any ideas for a Balkan dlc
Egypt already can do that in Rt56
and core Albania
Bosnia is better
We already have one
Anarchism? At least consistent with their ideology
Bear? Easter egg
Like 80% of the leaders in Europe are implausible for historical. But could’ve happened in alt history
I mean another one
what
the founder of modern Egypt was Albanian
Now you’re just moving goal posts bc many disagree with you
Ali Pasha
Muhammad?
Alright
Muhammad Ali (4 March 1769 – 2 August 1849) was the Ottoman Albanian viceroy and governor who became the de facto ruler of Egypt from 1805 to 1848, widely considered the founder of modern Egypt. At the height of his rule in 1840, he controlled Egypt, Sudan, Hejaz, the Levant, Crete and parts of Greece and transformed Cairo from a mere Ottoman ...
Nuclear Gandhi and Nuclear MacArthur are meant to be easter eggs
And i'm not complaining about that in this entire convo
At least its devs there did a proper research to explore the plausible options. Good for them
Define plausible.
he controlled more than just that parts of Greece and Crete the Levant and Syria too
I mean what determines leader/country plausibility for you
he probably would have killed the Ottoman Empire had the UK and France not intervened
Because so many things in HOI4 are only implausible in Historical
Tan Malaka wanting to unite the Malay World? Yup, he did wrote that
Sukarno wanting to be a caliph? Nope, he abhors monarchism
Abd Il Ilah can become caliph despite being very western focused
Can't say agree/disagree about that since i know barely about Middle East.
Probably you can ask DukeDave on Plaza.
Like, just prioritize getting contents from the Interwar-WW2 era first, before delving into memes.
Indonesia can have solid contents for all four ideologies without resorting to memes. You just have to read the correct books
You can be both caliph and a monarch at the same time which probably causes the confusion
The title of caliph were also often hereditary
Exactly, I feel like the meme content is just lazy
No effort at making something remotely plausible
Just insert vaguely related regime or concept from centuries ago
Add cores
Done
Ehh, again, if you have nothing anymore from real history to make stuffs on, widen the time range.
1936-1948
1800-1960s
1600s-modern day
Etc.
Silk Road Empire...
Even Nuclear Gandhi is more acceptable
If there really is nothing.... Then I can maybe understand the meme stuff
But surely if it is so ridiculously implausible that you have to take a kingdom from 1000 years ago, just focus the attention on the plausible stuff
Well, like, if they showed Loyalist branch and beefing up the Communist branch from the start, i think the backlash would not be that big
Also the backlash itself veered into an entirely another matter that i feel bad to the devs.
That wasn't added though
I know
It was shot down because everyone could agree it was going too far
But they were going to add it, and it's no surprise given all the other "recreate x empire" they added
It's to the point that people expect any past iteration of a country, however tangentially related and long ago, to become a formable / focus path
Turkey doesn’t really naval invade Greece anymore so it’s way harder to form Byzantium now 😔
Forming the ottomans is much harder now as well
Why’s that?
Naval changes make it much more difficult to invade Greece
Can’t just spam out a few cheap destroyers?
Monarchist Philippines is stupid strong
Does anybody here have quick and easy guide/approach how to deal with this energy mechanic? How to build up a military in current game update? I previous game versions I was spamming civil factories in early game and then spamming military factories when my building speed becomes high enough, what changes in this strategy I need to make now?
Old strategy works pretty well though you might sometimes need to alter your trade or downgrade your eco law for coal discount
Navel plan cap
Wdym?
You can only launch two naval invasions at a time now
With starting tech
Like only two arrows that have landing spots
How does this affect Turkey forming the ottomans though?
no clue
im assuming he means invading greece is hard with only two plans
Why is fascist Britain so obsessed with putting the Hispanic empire under naval blockade
Blockades must be the most annoying new feature
because historical rivalries
Swear anytime I play Spain, the UK does everything in its power to oppose me. Be it early wargoals, joining Germany, naval invading constantly
This is the Philippines
Monarchist path
It’s the same for any Spain ngl
aa
How does this affect Turkey forming the ottomans though?
Greece takes much longer to fully annex which means by that time Yugoslavia will have increased there military size and Italy usually asks for Dalmatia due to Greece invasion 120 days after Turkey declares war
Do with no coastline to invade yugo, beefed up military on ur border the ottomans are unable to make the old starts of pushing in work
how do you get naval dominance
Patrol ships
why wont my divisons train
No units
Need DLC thailand pls
Does the new DLC add a Korean focus tree?
thats the next DLC
As it should be
@downnejxnw28374
The one china policy focus shouldn't bypass because it can lock you out of coring your lands
Is that a tno reference
What's tno 😭
The New Order, a HOI4 mod
Thought the New economic policy was going to be brutally bad now but it’s still very strong
Probably would’ve been unplayable before the energy fixes
Albania focus tree when?
Albania is in such a weak position itd need some insanely OP tree to be fun
Uh i dunno
they could probably do something similiar to Austria like limiting italian influence (Kicking out offers, unpeg the albanian currency)
The difference is that Austria has the political clout to reduce influence of external forces, if they focus hard enough on it
Albania cannot do the same against Italy
I'll grant you, Italy is the most middling mid-tier power to be considered a "major" nation by the game's standards
But they're still more up there than Albania
I mean theyre still a major
Easily the weakest and least effective
But they still are one
Only country you could argue deserves that spot more is china imo
for gameplay reasons i would do what i said which is limiting italian influence
either that or they let more italian influence and go down a fascist route
if they invade then do a philippines and if italy cant conquer you in a year or so then they give up
an alt his scenario could probably be joining the little entente
Any polish people here?
Reform Illyria
Thats probably something more akin to croatia
I think greater albania would be the penultimate formable
or you are just bad with minor nations
wdym you have king zog
@scenic ingot albania slander
no
wrong
albania strong
just get better
I cheated every tech on Albania once and I still didnt stand a chance against Italy
you just didnt get enough out then
damn even with cheating..... 😥
no focus tree no research albania vs italy when
its a challenge im giving you
when albania capitulates it is because it shows mercy
i remember this guy hwowho had an albania disaster save and it sucked because he only made like gun 0
make it work or bad
ive done gun0 2w only before
its one of 2 times i have capitulated as albania in mp
yeah but no research at all smh
i showed mercy
I guess you can get claims on like Montenegro and Kosovo
Technically the strongest they can possibly get requires them to be a puppet.
As an Austro-Hungarian vassal they get cores on 2 more states almost doubling their population.
Plus, their Hapsburg leader gives solid buffs, which become even more solid if Austria-Hungary gets the popes blessing which provides additional stats to all Hapsburg leaders.
They also gain access to the bonuses from the joint focus tree.
I believe that is what they get cores on as an Austro-Hungarian vassal.
I’d rather Central America/Carribean get content before Albania ngl
Though I doubt Paradox would do so many countries in one dlc. And everyone would most likely cry about the location
I wonder if Albania is viable if you cheese with paratroopers like Luxembourg can/could
Against Italy?
Against Yug/Greece ig
Kinda RNG but generally no
Both of those get a fair bit of divisions
And are kinda hard to capitulate
The additional possible cores you can’t get don’t really need that as you border them, and your overlord will go to war with the owner most likely anyway.
its genuinely not that bad
you dont need to cheese its just like moderately difficult
you have great terrain tho
Holding as Albania?
yeah
Hmm Im guessing you would go commie and get that spirit for free manpower?
industry though I think wont have produced all that much when Italy comes knocking
you get 400 from generic tree if mp is an issue
even if non aligned
generic tree can get gun 3 (1942) late 39 so thats always a good buff too
you also dont start with a land border
Go nationalist and have a anti serbian policy probably
Gets rid of man power and population but increases organization for troops
National unity stuff
Have something similar to resisting auchluss but it's against Italian annexation
When hoi5
well GAR CHUCKLE HAR
ARENT YOU JUST A FUNNY GUY
HERE
LET ME GLUE ON YOUR CLOWN NOSE

2028 ig
There won't be
what mod is that
Why does it look bigger then normal Russia?
Staten ++
Statten ++, blue marble map along with west Russian war and RK+
Icic
Ty
Had sinkiang got "Turkestan Autonomous SSR" path, it'd be dope
I have a question which one teamplate to atack. (the best after the new dlc)
why doesnt fiji have any resources?
It got 2 focuses for exactly that
It only can get tajikistan and
I wouldnt call it a path but its sufficient enough
Krgzystan
And you have to lose the war against khotan ma
I dunno if the border wars still active while you being the puppet of the USSR
"Facist-facism"
I think they don’t like me
Wish it could get all the stuff to unite the Turkic people’s
Would make it sorta unique
aaa
tno reference
when is the Siam focus tree coming??
Not soon
what mod u on
Next year
how the hell are you supposed to win as Communist China if you play historic? after 1.17 somehow EVERY piece of land conquered, despite i literally pushed with tanks, still belonged to China. Also isn't Manchuria supposed to be PRC's?? You can't even infiltrate it
also every single warlord work with chiang kai-shek wtf
i literally have only one choice which is to join comintern
the hell is this design, it is way worse than RT56
freaking CHI has 350 divisions
I have no trade route/convoy ships to get oil to fuel my tanks too, this is ridiculous
Yeah, PRC kinda relied on Soviet support to win once hostilities resumed
Granted, ROC should get a massive debuff to reflect their immense unpopularity in the immediate post-war
But needing to use the Soviets as a crutch is pretty historical
Also, PRC didn't really have full control over any provinces - the Soviets controlled Manchuria after the war, and the PRC had hundreds of smaller footholds all the way up towards Beijing
Chinese civil war wasnt really one with definite frontlines
hello yalls
I think it is better as Communist China to also wage war on China than to join the United Front and fight Japan because fighting Japan later when Japan is fighting the Allies is easier than fighting China alone
For gameplay reasons i dont think it would work
The PRC needs to have a way to get Manchuria easily since it always goes to the nationalists.
If the communists are stuck and surrounded, there isnt much they can do, even if they steal neighboring land
prob an on action event that fires right before peace deal if Soviet Union is communist, has war with Japan but does not have war with PRC that hands the territory directly to PRC and excludes it from peace deal
additional checks for USSR controlling the states should definitely be there though or else it'd be annoying as shit
also obv PRC existing or not should be checked
I dont play without mods but I imagine the Soviet AI also just doesnt invade Manchuria on hist too often?
No, the Soviets never invade Japan in my games
Except when for some reason Communist China is kicked from the United Front
Updates that make the AI more competent seem to harm the USSR every time
Would love to see some sort of "inter faction conference"
Where, if you're fighting a common enemy you can establish fronts/areas of interest (like the soviets begging for the allies to open a second front, or for the soviets to invade manchuria)
Or send "faction wide equipment requests" (so if the soviets ask for 10k guns, the entirety of the allies can contribute to that easily)
Far too complicated sadly, realistically not happening (also it'd be weird for the ai to handle)
still no EIR by the 4th part
Bleak
Still no west Africa formable. My year is ruined
EIR?
Hard to keep track with the million acronyms on here
Still no updated Sheepsmod
My own mod, East Indies Reworked
Guess i was too late on updating it due to lack of opportunity.
Read the update channel in its discord 🤯
ahhhhhhhhhhh
I don't want to sound bad but pls bring back the czech text, pls like it was in the game back then but it is not there anymore pls add it back
like the czech localisation?
Its updated
First part already exists with faction theatres, altough you prob mean between different factions
No like the language of the text like I am from Czehia and well as student I don't understand everything in the game like from those world news.
❓
Yes precisely
hope they update the US as well
I am so damn fed up with the border conflicts man.
They don't attack the states I want, nor from the tiles I want.
I can't pick the damn General used, nor the exact units. I can only effect it by what units are closest. And you can kind of effect which states you attack, but it is Extremely crude.
What causes even more frustration is that if I lose(mainly due to bullshit from the game.) I lose an extra 150 political power on top of the 100 already spent. Causing way more frustration.
It really shouldn't be this damn crude. As it just causes over all frustration for the player. How Paradox didn't realise that they should have focused on reworking this (As it is a feature that came with Waking the Tiger. The DLC FOR China and Japan.) is beyond me
Hey it could be worse. Now you at least automatically reinforce the battle when it starts
In the past, you could just have no troops enter the battle and you lose despite having 6 perfectly fine divisions sitting on the border
Not all are guaranteed to. I had 4 divs that didn't despite being right there
Just because it was worse in the past. Does not excuse how shit this mechanic is right now
I know, im just saying how much worse it was
It used to be able to have 0, that's what I mean
when is this empty-looking super-expensive DLC gonna have a sale?
or gets his price changed to 10 dollars instead of 30?
Looking at previous DLC, itll take like 2 years for the first big sale
I wouldn’t hope for a sale 😭
HOI5 will be released before it gets a meaningful sale
Give it a year to go 15% off
To be fair, I turned off the DLC to play a mod, forgot to turn it back on, played another mod, and noticed no differences aside from less doctrine options
Yeah tank destroyers being locked behind ncns kinda sucks but oh well
Im more upset at manchukuo's new branches are locked behind the dlc
Considering it's not even a full rework
oh boy, guess i'll play the waiting game
well it's already on -15% off for me with the big nations bundle (since i have all other DLCs) but it's still too expensive for what it gives (25 euros)
should i cancel the MEFO bills as Germany?
when are the pacific nations getting naval invasion tech and mil high commands?
when you mean pacific nations do you mean like micronesia
or like new zealand
palau, micronesia, melanesia, guam, hawaii
new zealand is fine
From a kaiserreich game I played, I was able to do a 4 unit naval invasion with no tech
Only 1 order
no ship tech
also manpower ig
but mp is whatever
Never
how come
You got to keep the pyramid scheme alive because if it crashes, you crash with it
End it and rebuild economy
i usually end it
thats bad
what is bad about doing it
I usually end it too. Mefo is insufferable
i dont know what it really even does tbh
if you are not with then you are my enemy
I only use PEG when going alt history. MEFO is fun when you get that -30% consumer goods factor when stealing French gold, and then promptly lose it when you get autarky achieved after defeating allies a few months later
Huh?
In my last playthrough i'm still able to unlock TDs if i researched anti-tank weapons and put it into the tank in NSB's designer
As the cannon
Im referring to the subdoctrine
Ooh
Yeah, lots of subdoctrines are NCNS-only
Well, it's not that empty-looking because of subdoctrines
Buffs
does it give buffs if you keep it or cancel it
Charles Lindbergh’s buffs are so lame. +1% fighter and tactical bomber range. Atleast make them like 10-15% and maybe cut aircraft production cost
It is sad when Hess is better than Lindbergh when it comes to plane production
Or at least was
maybe in another update that costs a gazillion dollars.
but prob
soon enough ig idk
not empty by fact, but empty-looking because of the price
Which navy problem
Just wish the buffs were a little more impactful. 1% is nothing in modern HOI4 terms
i am hiped on the new dlc the peace for our time
There's no news on it is there?
(well apart from the discord server the devs post to, never checked though)
the dlc doesnt release until the second quarter of the year
theres another dlc coming before that so that what i would be looking for updates for
The what?
Thought I saw another reply about where people are getting their info from, will have to search further
Maybe they weren't being truthful
theres a problem where the ai spreads their navy in little task forces and as the player with a death stack you can pick of their navy and slowly wittle it down
Oh that’s sadly a feature. They wanted supply lines via ocean to be more impactful, so broke fleets up as a means of defending them. But in reality yeah it just makes enemy fleets weak
No Step Back
To be fair, it made me split my fleets from having 3 fleets (Pacific, Atlantic, subs) into 4 or 5 (1 or 2 patrol fleets added as well)
Arms Against Tyranny
La Resistance then
or gotterdam and no comprose
The only "needed" DLC you should get is LaR
Since you already have the must haves of NSB, AAT, and BBA
NCNS is way too overpriced and you should wait for a sale
I turned off the DLC and barely noticed any differences when playing mods
Then buy AAT or BBA
Preferably AAT
After NSB was BBA, then AAT
okay
Yeah but that's because mods actually know how to use the old faction system
Basegame vanilla is still broken as hell with the faction system
How do I beat Estonia and Germany as Livonia
I stand corrected, latest ISP video shows there are still ridiculous things happening with nations joining factions for random reasons
Does anyone think coal is now the worst thing in the game?
There needs to be a way to get more coal, playing as germany im getting screwed because i cant get any coal.
-- Every German economic minister after the start of the war
Welcome to history, my friend, Germany needed to steal what it needed, and it could never steal enough fast enough
I never struggled with coal as Germany
But my save also exploded by like 42
So didn’t get to late game
i have seen anarchist spain join factions
What are you cooking?
I barely had any issues with coal in my game
To be fair, I simply traded 1 civ for 80 coal from Britain after I capped them
If we went by historically hitler germany would never be winnable and all france runs would be doomed to fail
Nah, it’s easy to manage. It’s just a new system so naturally people don’t quite grasp it yet
i hope in the next future dlc expansion they gonna add FLEET CARRIERs
Isn’t that basically a modern carrier?
Which is in game
Modern Carriers with their angled flight decks and enormous carrying capacity:
just realized if usa does get an overhaul next expansion pass, there's a chance of following:
-
adding even more states to the USA + adjusting the new england territories so they're separate rather than together, alongside more states within the mid west so it just isn't one giant blob of states, and being able to adjust it so you can get modifiers between dust bowl, or electrification from rural regions, and potentially a electoral rework where you can actually decide which states flip to gop or democrat similar to spanish civil war decisions
-
motorized and mechanized truck + possible supply rework for building railways and such to give some kinda bonuses for making railways and trucks and armored cars, even designer for some so it ain't much of "truck supply go brrrr" stuff.
if it doesn't happen it'll prolly be a north african -> east mediterranean rework
rooting for the latter
us state rework so i can make better louisiana borders
usa rework is most definitely the next major expansion though
I dont think 2 is necessary in any way. I have never really struggled with supply out of areas that are supposed to have poor infrastructure. Technically there is a truck and mechanized designer as you can make light tanks with wheeled and half-tracked drives.
If there is an election rework, there better not be a political power malice so you can actually campaign. Personally, I think the US rework should incentivize you to invest in your civilian economy to get rid of the Great Depression and Dust Bowl.
Also, I think it would just be a lot more convinent if you could pick who you wanted as president and not have to deal with an election system. I think being able to pick who you want run in the elections and allow for more alt history.
I would not mind splitting some of the larger states, but dont forget that New England is not the only place that has merged states. Maryland consists both of DC and Delaware (but does DC really need to be split from Maryland?).
good points (dc doesnt need to be split from maryland, though delaware and maryland yes)
i def think it is
especially now that man the guns is free
kind of a pattern like they made waking the tiger free then an east asia dlc was then announced
we can only hope
Honestly doubt they’ll do a supply rework. Tbh supply works pretty well currently
But it would be awesome to see a USA rework and finish off the rest of the Americas
Probably just the allies in general
it'd be nice though i feel like if countries like say colombia or cuba got content people would complain
They’ve also said they wanted to add more Cold War content so maybe NATO/Warsaw pact stuff later
they said this a while ago in a dev corner i think
People complain about anything so might as well add it
yeah fair
They did
i really hope so
the US especially needs it
Communist is a super nothing burger. And the confederacy one is kinda cool just feels very very shallow plus Lindbergh has TRASH stats
Would atleast like to see the US core North America idk
yeah but regardless almost always the AI even just goes down the FDR path
america should definitely have more options for presidential candidates
Had a game recently they did CSA and took North America. They were actually kinda hard to fight and impacted more
canada at the very least
Tbh USA factory cap should be around 1000-1400, not 500-700
no reason why the US should have that small a factory count
Or like no factory buffs to compensate
exactly
It’s just dated I think most people agree on that
Crazy
seeing afghanistan have a bigger focus tree then america will never not be funny to me
Yet it never does anything bc perma civil war lol
ive seen its civil war last all the way until 1952 without end and without interference 💔
I’m just curious how the Czech dlc will be
i have high hopes for it ngl
Historically accurate
Czech AI can fully 1v1 Germany
It's still dumb to see AI do all sorts of focuses before the industrial branch
Why do PDX handicap Czecho-Slovakia on historical
OTOH means amount of factories Germany gets from annexing is limited
sheep mod better
I wanted to see if Sheep's Mod makes it so Allies actually succeed against Germany if defending Czecho-Slovakia
yeah
Are Paradox is still on holiday?
Ah, figures, @pseudo wing
dead mod though
Nuh
They’re Swedish, they get like half the year off
Japanese economy very balanced
-80% 🥀 😭
seems like it needs a buff
-5% mill construction kinda neuters it
Believe it or not, it can go lower
-40% was from focuses. The rest is from a constant ticking one that does -2.5% each time
I’m sad, I was hoping paradox would be back by now so they can fix the crashes
I just wanna play hoi
They really gotta fix communist China too lol
What is up with the communist Chinese?
The AI is kinda broken, especially if you play another Chinese country
They can just somehow take anything, even without guerilla cells
Oooh, I didn’t know cause one of the 2 countries I’ve played recently was them lol
sigh
?
unused egyptian idea icons
Oooh
Someday
Reminds me of the Sokoto caliphate
Where things were in the scope of a dlc until they weren’t
Egypt not existing in general is sad
the code that releases it is hashed out
Oh ik it’s a releaseable and has unique leader names, parties etc
I mean it should’ve atleast been a unique country like Jordan is currently
theres code for it be a starting nation as a dominion
Heck I’d even buy a singular Egypt dlc like the Czech one
my guess is if its released the ai ignores the african front
From my experience recently, nations sometimes fight harder in allied land than their own
Especially with axis
Like late game German land will have 6 units per tile but like 30 per tile in allied areas
Idk, feel like it could work today
maybe one day..
egypt has so much potential
Legit does
i could see a viable monarchist and democratic path
maybe a democratic path under someone like Mohamed Naguib
First un-nuke able landmark too 😮💨
he doesn't have a unique portrait in the game i don't think but his name always appears as the leader of democratic egypt if it's released
Would most involve North Africa/arab conquest. Or would any be African conquest too, like sub Saharan
i would say egypt should be able to peacefully request land such as sudan if it were to get a focus tree
maybe even the levant
As the dominion path yeah
i could see both the monarchist and democratic paths as being able to peacefully secure independence
Independence yeah
i think a fascist egypt path should be more aligned with italy rather then germany maybe
it just personally makes more sense to me
I agree
then again i dont know much about egypt's politics in the interwar and such
but i feel it'd be a nice break rather then the usual fascist trees of the game where it's just allying to germany
Thematically makes sense to align Italy
Fascist options of German, Italian, or Arab council
this would be good
unrelated sort of but i find it really weird how democratic turkey can request britain's arabic holdings but iraq cant
that seems really stupid to me honestly
Like if Egypt and Iraq can do something like Scandinavia’s Northern Defense Union
well iraq can request most of it but they cant ever request oman, yemen, or the UAE
Yeah idek why Turkey can take so much
they should make tunisia and morocco starting nations as well
Pretty sure they can’t get Lebanon either
correct
which really blows personally
So random too, why just Syria???
i sort of get it's a war game right and you wanna fight a war over something at some point but no reason why democratic/british-aligned iraq should have to pry something like tiny lebanon out of their hands
Or how it gets stomped by the UK anyways
pretty much
I actually really like Iraq though
might be a hot take amongst some players but i would like to eventually see some form of expansion on the rest of the middle eastern countries that have yet to get any content
Think it was the best made of the GOE nations
yeah me too
i think aside from india maybe it's the best of the GOE dlc
Yeah same
saudi arabia, mandatory palestine, egypt and syria could maybe be a plausible mash-up of nations for an expansion
India is worse imo bc famine, infinite rebellions, and that initial manpower mallice
oman i could see maybe getting something as well
fair
the manpower mallice is really annoying to get rid of
at least personal opinion
It’s just a grind and it’s annoying
That would be nice
Though no way they’re touching Palestine 😭
i see what you mean 😭
but still there's a lot of plausible and even some inplausible stuff you could realistically add to it
though i would understand why they wouldn't want to touch it
lol
They’re avoiding controversy like the plague after the Silk Road thing
I’m just sad it also ate the Iranian Muslim conquest
also something i find interesting is in RT56 there's some territorital dispute that saudi arabia has with the UK that's resolved with a focus
forgot what this was intended to be it's been so long since GOE
at least it feels that way
Like just transfers territory?
yeah
still find it interesting
so many countries that still have yet to be touched by paradox
i'd get it they wanna focus on updating countries like maybe the UK and US over something like saudi arabia but it'd be nice if one day they came back to it
Idek where I’d want most. Probably what we just talked about though. I imagine carribean will be alongside a US dlc
Still could be part of an expansion pass
i feel like a potential next "expansion pass" that they'd do would be something like US + UK + Canada
then maybe they'll either throw something in like ireland or mexico rework
then maybe they'd give the rest of south america content, like peru, colombia, venezuela and such
I’d guess USA, France, UK
makes sense for the most part but i really wonder if they'd give france a rework if LR still isnt integrated into the base game
Trueee
Are we forgetting the great lebanon🗣️
nah they would milk the majors
honestly even usa and uk together seems a bit of a stretch to me
fair enough but i feel like in this scenario it'd make sense
- they've been put together in man the guns before
so maybe they'd do it again
who knows
player satisfaction < money
truthnuke
I just hope a uk rework reworks the whole commonwealth
i could also see this
but since they're already doing australia seperately and they've done india idrk
only canada, south africa, and the UK is left
and new zealand
but i feel like they're just gonna never touch it again
if they can profit from it they would probably do it
i hope new zealand keeps its 6 research slots if it ever gets reworked
I hope new zealand gets a schizo maori path
Im normally against schizo paths but ill allow it for new zealand
it would be funny
astralia dlc when? 🦘
its the next one
but when?
They were?
second quarter of the year
(about Sokoto i mean)
no clue
I believe the Congo was originally going to have more content relating to releasables
yeah it seems weird that they added a bunch of african kingdoms
HOI IV The African Royals
I believe Brazil also had that case, theres files for sao paulo, cabinda, rio grandese republic flags, and the national spirit for seperatist sentiments mentions about the possibility of the fragmentation of brazil.
Darn shame it wasn’t added but I get why
i've always wondered about this
the separatist sentiments spirit always just gave a war support and stability debuff i was wondering why brazil had no releaseables or anything
it gets removed so quickly aswell
it would've made brazil feel a bit more interesting if they've done more with it
they ran out of time to rush the dlc maybe
probably
a shame but i still personally liked ToA
What would the best strategy for fascist Argentina be? Smaller amounts of quality units like tanks, or spamming out infantry, with some special forces and tanks sprinkled in?
theyve done focus trees and their monetization very differently after nsb
Now that's a thinker https://redd.it/1q6emxb
At least the althist focus tree by sheer 'chance' gives the war goal to the Soviet Union so the previous content wasn't entirely broken by NCNS
Though bets on what wargoals will be added in Peace for our Time's communist path?
Yeah some old things break with new dlcs
Like ever since goe, the polish decisions to purchase colonies have been broken when you try to purchase palestine
NCNS was basically a risky text paradox sent before ghosting
High expectations up to release - ✅
Buggy initial release - ✅
Content patches that only fix the most glaring issues - ✅
Reliance on expansive modding community to fix the rest - ✅
Welcome back, Bethesda
It really does just work, doesn't it
1 Division army ahh
Unlike Todd Howard, I think I saw Arheo has been on record saying something along the lines of "sometimes we f- up"
Although GoE context is a different beast from NCNS
That dlc destroyed the netcode, at this day playing as the axis is imposible
Finally EIR made it in alongside Under the Blue Sky
joining the comintern isnt even part of the czech communist tree
this is literally just someone not knowing about faction rules and complaining
What are you talking about?
the faction rule exists so you cant just call the worlds strongest starting army into wars
they cannot declare war because its a comintern faction rule
the wargoals work fine
The message I replied to
What do you actually mean by that
The Polish and Romanian ones yes, which I pointed out myself
But obviously if you want to attack Hungary instead of waiting for them to become a threat then tough luck I suppose
i saw people complaining about something that isnt even broken
thats why i responded
Yeah you responded by claiming quote "joining the comintern isnt even part of the czech communist tree"
You took the 1% gamble and lost
I've played a game where I joined Comintern with the focus without flipping the government
isnt it optional or something dumb
It might not be a prerequisite for any of the other focuses, though don't quote me on that
To be fair though, if you read the title it's clear that there is a significant UI/UX design challenge in getting people to understand what the tooltip 'is considered a major country' is on the declare war button
If you had the context has X faction rule AND 'is considered a major country' then it wouldn't be unclear
I've seen the actual screenshot. Methinks the devs needs to add an additional tooltip for the exact cause (you're a subject, you're getting restricted by a faction rule, etc)
thats good feedback instead of just calling the game buggy :p
Well, four years of modding helped to view the problem from both perspectives
Not even germany or Japan can get 6 research slots anymore dude
because new zealand is clearly the far stronger nation 🇳🇿🇳🇿🗣️🗣️
