The generic tree isn't terrible its actually borderline OP, the only reason it looks bad is because these days all the big nations have custom trees so the ones left with the generic tree don't have enough research slots and/or industry to take full advantage of the tree

Arabia, the Himalayas, Mongolia, South East Asia (duh), and the rest of South America have at least quite a bit of significance, or involvement in the war. Saudi Arabia was just born and would soon get rich off it's newly found oil deposits and would trade with the allies. A German expedition was sent into Tibet which could make for some cool ideas, Mongolia and Tannu Tuva are just bound to get something, perhaps along with Mengjiang. And South East Asia is definitely coming very soon, not next, but soon.

Austrian here, And kurt schuschnigg (the austrian political figure at the time) was in charge of the vaterländische front and the party wasnt really a democratic or converative party but a unity one (like the party of the H-man) but from what i know Kurt schuschnigg didnt comit any crimes if he did then i need to dig a bit further to find out if he did or not, but anyway in hoi4 it makes sense that he is able be in charge of the democrats but in irl thats a different story
