So I just finished reading through Belgium's dev diary and this is a suggestion which I think would be really cool to add so as to give more immersion/flavour to the game:

TNO-like events in vanilla HOI4 would be really cool, and if the game was given proper post-war content would be a really nice addition.

An event detailing Hitler's or Mussolini's last moments would give off a "yeah, we're boned" vibe to anyone who finds themselves in a situation where things have gotten that badly as the battered, supposed to be, Thousand Year Reich or the puppet Italian Social Republic once you messed up everything.

Hell even some fictional ones like Stalin dissapearing into Siberia or killing himself after Germany successfully takes over all Soviet territory up to the A-A Line.

You take over a country, you could have some measure of how the population sees you. If it gets bad they start resistance groups. Colonies could get a similar mechanic where if they become too unhappy, they declare independence
