They did have some good things, the Italian air force was quite advanced for the time like the CR42 before the war and the C200/202 during it, and the Baretta M38 submachine gun is widely considered one of the finest small arms ever made in its prewar variant

Their main issue was that Italy just didn't have the manpower, industry, or well-trained officers to enter the biggest war in human history. Even Mussolini contended Italy would not be ready for war with Britain until 1942 at the earliest but was more or less forced in by Hitler after France fell because he thought Britain would sign an armistice

Italy's biggest problem was lack of mobility.

Most of the other axis powers fought alongside German units aside from Japan who fought backline low priority units in Malaya

Italian units frequently got encircled and ran out of supply by much smaller motorized British formations

That's why huge Italian units surrendered to tiny forces of British troops, and they didn't make any real progress until the mechanized afrika korps was deployed

Italy also spent a lot of energy developing light tanks when they really needed more basic stuff like cars and trucksa

Today with civilian vehicles ubiquitous we just take mechanization for granted, but at the time you'd be walking around in the desert only to find yourself surrounded by guys who had Jeeps.

Hoi4 can kinda replicate this but not very well, as the game doesn't really present bad morale well.

Your units don't just randomly surrender and disappear like they do in reality.

Players would never put up with that

The small caliber aa the Japanese used was a very inefficient design. The type 99 25mm was based on the French hotchkiss from WW1 and used box magazine clips

Everyone else was belt-feeding for mid caliber aa cannons by then

This required the Japanese to have a crew of like 20 men to operate a single dual 25mm aa mount.. horrible design.. they also had restricted rate of fire, not due to the gun but due to the reloading and needing to load new boxes of ammo every couple of seconds.

Storage of ammo was a mess due to it.. so on.

They also lacked any kind of larger caliber like the German 37 or the outstanding Bofors 40 that was used by the allies

Their 128 gun was adequate but had inferior ballistics to contemporaries.

The Japanese did use the 100mm that was used on the Akizuki destroyers and a few others that had great elevation, fire rate, and had extremely high muzzle velocity.. that was a good aa gun but incredibly limited production

And of course the Japanese never had proximity detonated ammunition like the US did.

But the biggest problems they had were how horrible the 25 was compared to literally everything else

I would disagree, personally, as a dedicated player means different things to different people. a dedicated player could get 100 hours out of a product, or 1000.

If my understanding is correct, which i may be wrong, you are mentioning dedication being supporting the game for such an amount of time being the bar for whether or not you should purchase something like the DLC/game itself

I proposed rather than that criteria, you should evaluate whether or not you like the game before purchasing rather than basing it off of length of support, and moreso how many hours you would get out of the product. You could play 2k hours of the game and feel like you got your money's worth, and then not touch the game until another content drop, or you could play 8k hours and still keep playing because you feel as if you got your money's worth and continue to do so, whether through fan content or official releases.

I myself have the standard of if I get at least 1 Hour per dollar spent on a game, that is worth my purchase. But that is just me.

Japan and Italy had some minor deals but in the end didn't care
The USSR just got involved with Mexico by killing Trotsky

That leaves none other than Germany who made espionage missions, submarine attacks, propaganda and recruitment campaigns, possibly even coups (but it has never been confirmed that they were the direct cause), they had close ties with Argentina and Chile, but also had several minor Facist movements all over South America

Considering 22% of players play as Germany, and they have never had a rework, only an expansion, that adds up

Basic airframe won. (basic costs 72 improved 74 ic)

so same cost, one prio Defence, the other prio speed and agility. The one with defence won by 15% kills

And it makes sense, improved had 10 agility more, so thats 4.5 attack extra (40 vs 44.5 attack)

on the contrary med has 12 more defence (32 vs 20) so, of course it would win, but the med cost 2 less

no way agility is relevant. It just exists for fighters to beat heavys...and thats ok. Just had to run the test.

AFAIK USA got some updates including their congress system in Man the Guns

But they al least got some nice custom MIOs in AAT

Japan only got generic MIOs and generally has been on minimal support since WtT and MtG

Imo, Japan and Germany are fine without major updates, because they are pretty fun to play anyway. US is very boring, so I think it needs new content more
