36+36 = 72, 72 is still acceptable for 70 but go any further and it's not

tanks are 36, this mesns that since 36+36 = 72 then 2 tanks will be able to attack a plains tile at once

any other division aiding the attack will be in reserve and will do literally nothing

so it is pointless to have more than 2 tanks per tile

if you attack from multiple tiles then the cw will double

allowing up to 4 tanks to attack at once

that is the basic principle of micro

maximum per tile = 2

can expand to 4 if having difficulty

higher stats

with the correct advisor you gain +15% attack just because of the unit type

more breakthrough

you can max out their doctrine for even more

they're not just for mountains

Each terrain type has a max width, when you attack from one tile to another. If the max width is achieved, additional units will sit in reserve and await their turn in the combat. When you attack from other tiles and open up a new front on the defending tile it adds additional width.

Obviously in an attack you want to increase your width as much as possible, if you're using too many troops to attack a single tile. Meanwhile the defenders want to reduce the width and effectively funnel the enemy into fights where the quality of combat units will matter more.

Dynamic how so? Different terrains have different max width. Different templates will also have different width. The key is to be optimal, such as 25w mountaineers in mountains that have 50w.

You can't accommodate every piece of terrain with a dedicated unit, but Austria is a good example of bringing 25w mountianeers

the only actually good thing you get as a complete beginner is quickly learning the way battle plans work and divisions by fighting a much weaker nation at the start, i'd suggest honestly watching some videos on youtube and try germany, that's what really helped me learn

and standardise an infantry division that includes 2-4 stuff i need to produce and not go above that

that would serve as your back bone or main division for holding lines

it should ideally be cheap to make and spammable to an extent
