9/1 infantry primarily. I also had some 9/1 marines for naval invasions
Have a few full armies of regular infantry. I usually do 3 - The first one drives down from the north. The Marines invade Qingdao and capture the Shandong peninsula. Once they've captured it, send in the second army of regular infantry and start pushing out from there. Link up with the army pushing down from the north. Send the marines to Formosa (Taiwan) to prepare for another naval invasion in the south, around Guangzhou. Once they've taken it, send your 3rd army to push up from the south down there
You want to take advantage of China's long coastline and your command of the seas relative to them to land in various areas and force China to spread their troops out trying to cover lots of ground. This way your higher-quality troops will have an advantage and China's manpower advantage will be nullified (they are too spread out to deathstack anywhere)

i had to do a lot of micro to encircle and destroy swedens army
then i had to build an airforce and marines to get into denmark
and then at one point i wasnt guarding my coast in sweden and the germans naval invaded with like 30 divs and i was somehow able to push them out
