basically : you don't build cav in general
You build cav divisions if you want mobile infantry because motorized is overpriced and uses both fuel and rubber while cavalry goes faster than infantry and only comes at a 15% cost increase made of easy-to-get rifles
You use cav in tank divisions if you want a base speed (capped at 6.4km/h instead of 4km/h for inf) until you get mechanized which will be used in all tank divisions

if you already have tank divisions, you don't need cav 90% of the time
if you have mech researched and are able to produce it, you likely won't need cav in tank templates anymore
You only use trucks for support companies (logistics and hospital. Motorized recon is useless) and to motorize supply lines. It's not worth anything else, except if you want to build speedy memey divisions that go up to 12km/h (which is the speed of mechanized 3 as well)

Basically, each bataillion has a hardness stat. This defines how much soft atk and how much hard atk troops take damage from.
Since AI is abysmal dogshit at the game, their divisions never have more than 40-45% hardness (on tanks only), meaning that you'll encounter 90% of enemy with none or almost no hardness, which means that they take little to no damage from Hard attack
That's why, in singleplayer, you completely ignore hard attack and focus on soft attack

i have a very set in stone way of playing the game even if it isn't meta

lots of emphasis on Inf and Soft Attack

30w will be too wide in places like marshes or mountains for example

and then having Manuever Elements (Cav or Mech) to encircle divisions and leaving the Soft Attack-Heavy Infantry to fight the battle

The problem then though is your encirclement units are different from your main pushing units, and this will make your micro more challenging. Also as I mentioned, as infantry is slow, its prone to being encircled by fast units. This isn't a problem if your infantry is cheap and mostly expendable, but if you have high-quality troops and they get encircled, you will really feel it
