I personally wait till later to get encirclements; More risk, but far more reward. You're never going to drain soviets MP pool, but when you mass slaughter divisions, it drains their guns. Soviet production is extremely bad compared to their size

If you're going to blitz them early, just CAS the crap out of them and go for pincers

If you can afford bombers you can also destroy their supply super easy. Soviet airforce gets stronger with time, so you want to annihilate their fighters and keep the pressure up so they can't build more. Soviet cas will wreck you late game
