I’ve said this before but I wish this game had more hidden focus trees based around you losing. Like the new Reorganized National Government of China.

It feels as though you are just expected to play a country that always wins every war and never loses territory. It’s unrealistic and boring narratively.

What if when you lose as the Soviets you can re-establish control in Siberia or try to gain more independence as a collaborator government in an RK

Or if the Nazis lose maybe then you get a focus tree to play as holdouts in Norway/the Baltics, or you could guide the new German Republic into a communist, democratic, or new authoritarian regime as you try to gain concessions from the the various allies and avoid the wrath of France or the USSR.

It doesn’t need to be as fleshed out as the more regular paths but it would be cool to incentivize a playthrough where you lose various wars to see new content.

One of my favorite parts of the Fire Rises mod is that depending on if you win or lose your first big war your country’s path radically changes.

It creates a more satisfying narrative and you don’t have to worry about starting all over again if you mess up during the first important “test”.

It’s an issue I have with all paradox games I’ve played (eu4, ck3, hoi4). You only ever really get stronger, it doesn’t mirror the historical trend of nation’s ebbing and flowing in power

What if when you lose as Britain to Germany you need to decide between playing as the government in exile in their colonies or as the collaborators back home?
