For some reason my 3d unit models (eg UK infantry) on the map do not change to desert uniforms when they’re in the desert. Has this auto change due to climate been removed from the game?

Stick with it. It requires several hours to begin, I did the same. Put it off for years, installed, uninstalled. Til recently I felt I was ready. Not looked back. If you want a real challenge then BICE mod is fun and historical units galore

hello, no worries, I have gone to the acclimitation.txt file inside common and just adjusted it. the stats for the mod I'm using, BICE, are much lower, in terms of daily gain. so i ramped them up there to simulate forces using appropriate uniforms sooner. Thank you for your steer, it's been really helpful and appreciated!
