you're lacking essential support companies for attack (medium flame tank, hospital and aa mainly), motorised recon is a pure waste of resources

Also, attack inf is meh at best, especially worse with line arty (except on very specific countries like australia because of limited manpower, resource availability and very good advisor). Use tanks, special forces, air support or mechanized (against AI only) to push instead
Inf is meant to hold the line and only attack if you can fill out the combat width while the enemy cannot

The base design of inf as germany is really good as an inf div, it's just lacking AA

Oh, no worries, I rectified this with more production, I've simply gone back to a previous save, which is what this is, because my units got curbstomped because their templates were abysmal.

The AI had divisions with ridiculous 500 Attack and 500 Defense , meanwhile mine were like 20 attack 20 defense for some reason.

Also, if you are going to do Naval invasions, I HIGHLY recommend going Amphibious Tanks in Marine Divisions, and additionally Amtracks once you can get them, it means you don't have to dedicate too much production to Amphibious Tanks, because Marines are Special Forces and have a cap, but the additional armor, breakthrough, and soft attack is a huge boon, especially when attacking Naval Fort tiles.

I may be BAD at Land combat, but I have had a lot of success with this.
