if you do the UK I would recommend making lots of carriers and sub hunting destroyers, your convoys will get raided A LOT by the germans so you want to make small fleets with 1 carrier and 4-6 destroyers in them to hunt down submarines

if you do convoy escorting use the cheapest destroyers possible, literally nothing on them but whats required, ships on convoy escort suck at actually killing submarines but when you go hunting for them using strike force on low threat the enemies subs start the battle already spotted making it very easy to kill them
