Playing democratic germany and decided to build an actual surface fleet. I'm actually starting to understand how to properly use and manage a navy and it feels amazing

before I'd rarely bother doing much with the navy other than set some submarines to raid convoys in the middle of the atlantic and do sealion with a small strike force because of funny british AI mistakes

pretty sure it would obliterate your breakthrough but the soft attack may be better

you need screens (destroyers and light cruisers) to protect your capitals (heavy cruisers, battleships/battlecruisers, carriers, superheavy battleships)

if you have screens the enemies screens cannot target your capitals or something, every capital need 4 screens, so 4 light cruisers/destroyers per battleship kind of thing

the current "meta" as I understand it is:

torpedo destroyers, no armor, all torpedos

light attack light cruisers with level 2 armor, this armor makes them mostly immune to the light guns of other screens

AA battlecruisers, as many AA guns as you can fit, naval bombers are more likely to target high HP and high armor targets so you use these battlecruisers to act like a magnet

carriers with naval bombers, no fighters, no armor to reduce the chance they are targeted by enemy naval bombers, do not have more than 4 in each group

torp destroyers and carriers destroy capitals

light attack cruisers kill screens so the torp destroyers can do their work

and AA battlecruisers soak up naval bombers

personally I may swap one torpedo for a depth charge on the destroyers so they can kill submarines if the fleet doesnt have naval bombers

if you can afford superheavy battleships use those over battlecruisers as they can get a massive bonus to AA when you do their special project

they're way more effective at the job than destroyers

if you want make an escort carrier (converted cruiser) and use that to patrol the region you're being torpeoed in

Unless u have torp 3 you never make destroyers, should be aa battleships not aa battle cruisers, I dont actually know why but I'm assuming cos they have better stats/more hp, and you can have 5 carriers per fleet if you have the last 2 airwings as carrier fighter and carrier cas to negate the debuff

But aside from that its good

Torp destroyers r very good just require alot of investment so id rather do light attack light cruisers, especially in single player

Jesus, we're going back to basics. OK so IC is short for cost in this game. Guns cost 0.5 IC, a tank costs 20 IC and so on. The international market gives you IC for the first thing in the construction queue and boosts its construction up to 25% once that is reached it goes to the next and so on
