Unsure how to do it with Paradox Launcher, but for older titles (like VIC 2) you used to be able to download old patches right on the forums once you linked your account to the game

I have problem with my HoI IV.

When I start the game and I go in to menu, the menu buttons react in wrong way. They have their "activation zone", moved few centimeters towards right side of the screen, so the left side of buttons dont even react to the mouse and the right side react even after button end.

Also, when I start the game, the game stutters badly, I dont know why.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with my laptop, the speaker is crackling like insane, it is impossible to play a video without hearing one, in youtube, the images is always late and laggy, and I struggle to run anything other than Chrome. Hoi4 is straight up unplayable, even though just yesterday I Trotskied the whole USSR. When I run it, system interruption is taking 100% CPU. I couldn't even tick Ironman or choose a country that's not the major ones. Similar issues in other games and programs. I don't why this happens, even though just yesterday it was just fine.

Is this because of my connection? Even though I have never experienced something as horrible as this one before. And my connection isn't that bad. I need help, I have only gone to the service centre not even a day ago and I don't want to return it there again.

you can start by cleaning your screen, apart from that try verifying game files and make sure any mods are on the correct game version

Go in the Steam folder of the game C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron IV\gfx\fonts
Search for these two files:
cg_16b.tga
cg_16b.fnt
Delete them
And then do a check and repair on steam

So, when are you going to make the game playable? focus tree effects dont work, units dont move when set to a battle line. keyboard inputs dont work. having pop-ups appear in the middle of the screen and take up 1/6 of the space is awful. not being able to rebind keys is embarrassing. having fighter aces constantly spammed at me is truly awful. especially when their is no hotkey to remove then and it must be left on or my conquered nations will automatically release themselves as puppets. which is also a truly awful gameplay design. multiplayer menu doesnt even load automatically and takes up 1/5 of the screen. because its apparently more important for me to look at background art then be able to navigate a menu. scroll wheel doesnt work on my navy. new dlc > making the game work

I have a big problem I want help with.
During the game - and more common during times of war - I get weird flickering beams of graphics that shoot out from a certain point and covers the whole screen, very quickly, epilepsy warning kind of flickering. I can only avoid by either being fully zoomed in or fully zoomed out. It always happens at a certain point on the map during battle, but always near a major battle. It makes everything unplayable.
The only mod I have on is Road to 56
A friend of mine had the same issue and when he bought a new computer it disappeared. Mine is fairly new though and got this issue since I bought it 3 years ago

The colours used to be black-blue but now they're clear white. I have no clue what the issue is, lowering the graphics did nothing.

Okay so, after launching the game from the Paradox launcher, it starts its normals things and stuff, and once its halfway through, it pops up with this message. I got it after i tried going from debug mode into the normal mode again, i have disabled all my mods i had, i checked the integrity 2 times and cleared the user directory once, and i re-installed it, but nothing seems to work, what else could i try to fix this?

Also the error.log file it was supposed to create is also completely empty

I'd double check the playset make sure nothing is ticked in the launcher for the default playset and then run the default

Hello! Playing Austria-Hungary pre-Better than the Szent Istvan achievement fix. okay, so, sometime ago I started a mod creating/modifying states and all, I made sure to do it properly and all but after creating it, whenever I try to launch a game with the vanilla states I get this error, the file "france" is the one file I used in my mod where I have all of the french states, the mod runs fine and all but somehow the game wants to use it and I can't do anything about it, I tried to reinstall the game and it doesn't change anything.

By the sounds of it the game assumes you’re in a multiplayer game

Because you cannot open console on multiplayer

And all the options you see are for multi. I’m not accustomed to this bug unless it’s as simple as you pressed multiplayer instead of single player

Hello. I tried opening HOI4 today and there was something missing.
I downloaded direct x on system 32 but it's going like

ok then hard way. Follow those steps:
Unsubscribe any mod you have
Disinstall the game
Manually delete the two Hearts of Iron IV folders, you can find one under documents and the other under steamapps
Restart your pc
Install the base game again
try if it works
Reinstall the DLCs
try if it works
If everything works after those steps you can risk and install any mods you want

normally those two folders
this is usually the path for the one under documents:
C:\Users\user\OneDrive\Documenti\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV
and this is the usual path for the one under steam
C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron IV

Delete both of those folders, this is very important.

first you disinstall, then you go on those paths and delete manually anything that remains
