I've seen this happen to someone live, even when dlc_load.json is correct and launching the .exe it still won't load. I couldn't fix it.
One more thing to check is you got the descriptor .mod file for RT56, both in the Documents' mods folder and in the workshop's RT56 mod folder.

If you see it its not in any playset
1 go to the launcher and open the playset

2 It should redirect you to here

#

3 Click "Add mods" and locate the mod you just installed (oh and check the box as you would normally)

Have you tried to tweak your coat hanger to the right and add tinfoil on top of your pc? If not try adding some toothpaste to your pc ethernet port for higher connection @marble aspen

If you cant access any games you have, then you might not have hem downloaded, or you just havent logged into steam yet.

Very late response, but there could be many reasons this person cannot join

Try having them put the ID and then password instead of going through by using the name
Their internet maybe be bad
Possible that they do not have a mod that you guys have activated
They might be unable to join because of the host having bad internet

Every game Ive ran there has worked flawlessly, with the exception of HOI4, one of my favourite games

If I play the game in 2560x1440 it becomes extremely laggy, averaging about 10 FPS, when my PC can run a good bunch of AAA games at above 144 fps

apart from that, alt tabbing has become more laggy and less smooth, and saome kind of white fogging occurs until I click the option menu and close it

#

If I deselect the full render resolution option the game runs at +200 FPS again, but it kinda defeats the point because it looks like 💩 again

last week I have decided to buy an ASUS TUF laptop with RTX 2060 and Ryzen 7 4800H, it had Windows preinstalled but I decided that I wanted to try linux (I have 2 partitions one for manjaro and one for windows), more specifically manjaro. When I installed HOI4 I have put prime-run %command% in launch so it would use my dedicated GPU instead of the integrated one, when I try to play it, there are 2 possible outcomes,

a) launcher shows for a second and then disappears, when I try to start it again it just shows that error happened and app is still running,

outcome b) launcher does load but when I press play game doesn't start and Paradox Crash Reporter turns on

I have tried installing it on Lutris and the same thing is happening

the exploity way to do this is to spend your first 5 xp from rhineland on a single battalion division, which you can just shit out 100 of right away at 20% trained. turn off equipment on your 20 line inf division, and when the spam divisions are fielded, convert them all to the 20 width infantry.

Hey so I have a problem with my HOI4. All of my "tooltips" for every single icon in the game, be it nation idea thingamajigs or just hovering my mouse over for terrain details, it doesn't show anything. You have to use Playsets. I recommend creating/having a playset with 0 mods and then others for specific combinations.
FYI: at least 70% of the time the launcher doesn't work properly

You can add/remove mods from playsets at any time... if you just have 1 playeset withe all of the mods, you can turn them on and off as you would have with the previous launcher, but sometimes this doesnt work

Could you list the mods you have?

If you cram too many mods it can sometimes wreck the game, specially if they are from different updates

#

try disabling all the mods and launch the game, if it works then youll need to deduce what mod is to blame for the error, it can be one, it can be many or it can be two mods tat collide

#

If it doesnt work even without the mods then theres a problem with the game itself and youll probably need to reinstall (always have a copy of your savegames if thats something you care about)

#

You could try by checking file integrity in the steam menu

#

But yeah, HOI4 tends to have file issues, specially of you mod it

#

My graphics for hoi4 have been broken lately. The portraits are extremely bright and the map looks more grainy and dark in Asia. I have textures on high and all graphics settings on.
