Honestly I have had that same problem playing as the usa and I wanted to beat a strong axis so I just tagged over to France and deleted all their armies on the german front

So when I run the better states mod it has issues loading the map and crashes, I have tried running it by itself and it runs fine, so I thought some of the mods were conflicting, but then I tried them each with the better states and they all worked, so then I tried them all again and it worked. But then I played a few hours later and the same issue happened where it crashed, so I took out better states and it ran fine. Then I added it back and it ran fine. anyone else have this problem?

Hey so when I launch HOI my mods are on but then I get in game they aren't there. The mods that aren't appearing in game are Road to 56, Player Lead Peace Conferences, Peace Mid War, German March Collection, and some other unimportant music mods. I've already checked game files, uninstalled all the mods, then launched the game with no mods, and then reinstalled the mods, I've uninstalled HOI and repeated the process above and it still doesn't work. Some mods are working and I'm not getting any crashes, they just aren't there when I get in game.

Issue
So bassicly i can't launch Hoi4. It will load to around 40% and crash. This error will be displayed complaining about how it can't load the map.

What was i doing at the time
I was trying to make my own country but confuesed it with a "how to create a state" and made a half working state. However, in the tutorial video i had to delete 3 files at some point "so that they don't conflict". I belive they were: History, Localisation, and one other i can't remember. I realised that i was creating a state, not a country only after the video ended. And went to find a video i can use to create a country. I did all the things but i was in -debug mode the whole time so i had no issues opening the game, i allso didn't need to open the game at all, sinse i knew state IDs wich i needed. After completing the mod, i exited the "-debug" mode, activated the mod and started the game. 40% loaded in, and it crashed. Displaying this error massage. I first turned off my mod and then started the game. Same thing happend. I then did all the things and they all failed. Then i obviosly tried reinstalling the game... Still the same error massage on the same spot.

I edited the province of Singapore (In the base game) and splitted it into two provinces. But everytime I start my game with these two provinces in my folder my game chrashes and this shows up. + In the crash report every single state in the two provinces isn't assigned to any state

These are all the states I edited. Mostly I only changed cores and buildings and it was fine. But in the states Burma + South Burma I changes provinces and it worked out fine as well. My problem is with Singapore and Malaysia. I edited the states there the same way but it doesnt work

We fixed it by having two of us with the different checksum unsubscribe to the mod, but wait until hoi4 says its done validating, then resubbed, and waited again. For some reason, it worked

I have had the same problem before and I had no idea what the fix was. My recomendation is to go into Steam, your library, right click on HOI4, properties, and then click on verify integrity of game files.

Most problems can be fixed with a simple restart of your application. You can also try relaunching steam to check for an update which may affect your connection. If the problem persists you should try rebooting your system. There may be a windows update or some other things. Also, try going into your device manager and checking if all your devices such as graphics cards are properly updated. Also just tend to monitor your RAM usage and more through the Task Manager. You can also go to steam settings and turn on the frame rate counter for your games to check if you have a frame rate drop problem.

Maybe try unsubscribing the mod, and make sure to empty these folders (which will delete all of your mods):

First thing you need to compare is checksums.
Usually this happens when either one pc is unable to receive connections (very strict internet security)
or the checksums are not equal.

But there are only very few pcs that actually have too strict security system in place.

I have a graphical question for some of you. I’m running a machine with an RTX 2070 super and an intel i7 10700 with a 4K monitor. I tend to run my games 4K on max settings but have noticed lowish frame rates of 30-60.

The question is, while dropping to 4K medium or low settings will bring my fps back up, will I really be losing much in terms of graphical quality? I’ve been switching settings back and forth and looking at side by side comparisons and i feel like I’m driving myself crazy when there’s no real noticeable difference.

Decisions that add equipment are not firing when I put specific models. Is that normal? Is it because the nation does not have the necessary tech? If so, how do I override the check so that they can get it anyway?

Just tried adding the tech and now the decision has the proper effect. Is there a way to make the game disregard technology when adding equipment? I don't see anything about this check in the documentation.

@hoary prawn delete ur hoi4 documents folder it just has saves and stuff i had an issue where i checced mods and it would launch vanilla but that fixed it

There could be any number of reasons for that. You will have to be more specific in what your trying to do

#

If your trying to join a lobby with a password and put it in wrong or don't put one at all you fail to connect

#

If you try to join a modded lobby you will fail to connect (unless you have the proper mods yourself)
