you likely used a mod that made map changes that broke, and it ended up dumping some of its files into your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV directory

I just disabled automatic reinforcement for the task force, but if you really need it, you can mess around with moving the reserve fleet to a different theater, creating the task force, moving that task force back to the main theater and just moving the two back and forth and re-creating the task force until the game finally calms down

i start the game (with 3 mods but same happends without those mods)
select singleplayer (same happends in multyplayer)

Hello people, I'm French and my game has a problem: I don't know if it's due to the wifi connection or the game itself. I was playing with a friend in multiplayer, and the game kept disconnecting me from the game... desynch isn't caused by internet issues as far as I know, it's generally a mod/language/save file issue

since the new DLC dropped naval task force composition editor appears to glitch out.

as Britian I train all my ships then put them into reserve. I then grab a ship and make a new fleet, and using the task force composition editor I create the task force I want and save it.

the game glitches out and keeps moving all the ships from reserve into the fleet and then back to reserve again making it so I can not sail, the only way I can deal with it is by manually making fleets by putting each ship in the right place, which is fine for a minor nation but when you have 100's of ships it becomes tedious.

Here is a example of a fleet I have made, I used the purple star because it lets any ship of that class join the fleet (at least thats my understanding

also worth noting that every ship was in one big reserve fleet, so whatever this glitch is, it makes the ships create new fleets when they go back to reserve.

So I have a problem with hard crashing when pressing anywhere on the screen too quickly, this only happens when I boot the game in windows, linux works fine on the same machine, and playing the game in windowed (althought not windowed borderless) also works fine. This problem persists into other paradox games such as CK3, and only paradox games, so the problem is likely stemming from the engine?
All drivers are updated, reinstalled twice, changed rendering options too

Every time I press anywhere the game will flicker and pop the taskbar over the top of the screen with the game icon flickering itself, pressing too quickly, for example when shift building a bunch of factories over my country without waiting a few seconds between clicks, will hard crash the game entirely

I have been experiencing this problem for a while in Hoi4, in vanilla the research slot is like in the photo in some modes, for example millenium dawn it s not open directly. I tried almost everything but couldn't find a solution.

A visual bug doesnt show the top and bottom bars on the map, I can't see any unit 3d figures (not even my own and it's not just the M keybind feature) and the UI for it in the division designer is bugged, I cant seem to be able to load any big mods like Kaiserreich or else I get this response (see 4th image). I don't have any mods on, I've already done a clean reinstall of the game (I think) and tested game files integrity. I am completely out of ideas, can anyone help?

I have a random weird bug that doesn't render any models. No planes show up but you can see them shoot or drop bombs, you can see the ships creating waves but no actual ship. You can see the division icons but no actual division. You have factories and facilities, ports, bunkers, etc and can't actually see them on the map. My graphics are at max and I don't know what is wrong.

I've tried to uninstall, reinstall, I cleared cache, I backed up files, I tried lowering graphics, I then re-put back graphics to max after that didn't fix, I don't know why it is doing this

did you, by any chances, went through a peace conference where you puppeted/annexed other countries ?

becasue there's no "delete mils after annexing a minor country" mechanic

at most you would've lost 10 or so, if you had build every state at a maximum that is

You may have lost access too them? I think too get the maximum amount of mills from a non-core state you get them as a puppet and get them down too lowest autonomy, but when you annex them and they become puppeted they become "No longer available" as you're occupying the state with no compliance

Starting a game with non default nation path settings (like Turkey going fascist), and boost to a few enemy nations.

Yet, if I start a game with none of those settings, the messaged about mods isnt displayed.
I don't recall seeing that message before

I just tested, simply using the slider to strengthen a single nation seems to give that message.

It shows for achievements, but not for career stuff. In example, you don't need ironman for career mode, so it will show achievements disabled.

Gotcha. I'd assume then its just bcs the carreer stuff is more recent so it didn't get anything special in that regard. Also ironman just removes savescumming. Which doesn't really affect the ribbons. While some gamerules can make them a lot easier

I assume I just never realized it disabled the career mode before. I played a few non historical games where I'd force 1 nation to go a different path to make it more chaotic, or an axis nation to be stronger so they dont go down too early.

I wasnt paying much attention to these ribbons anymore, until that last game where, as minor nation, slowly swept all oceania, asia then europe after a while (everything was in a communist bloc against americas), and caused around 100 milion casualties, which was something I found ridiculous.... and expected to see in the career tab, but it was only showed under "modded" game, while I play vanilla, so that didnt make much sense

also the historical focus should be not taken when i select to have a-historical, every games goes vanilla regardless, i dont want to hear some bozo telling me its rng, its not its three historic to 1 a-historic game, i've done the experiment to find the ratio of alt historic to historic games and the ai takes alt historic path 1 out of 10 times i start the game and have to wait til march to see germany do rhineland evn though historic mode is off,

i am sick of restarting because of the crap rng mechanic not doing what its told

nations should be more aware to not join faction with ideological enemies, not simply because theyre at war, this mechanic has existed for for too long and im going to harm myself if i see another democracy join japan just bc theyre at war with the same enemy, the saying doesnt apply to dirty fash's and reds!!!!

is there any way for me to patch console commands?

im trying to do this because the focus.autocomplete command only applies to AI when they are being observed (so only one AI-controlled nation at a time), which would show them completing one focus per day, as opposed to me being able to complete many within one in-game hour.

whereas if you were to observe ANOTHER nation, it could show them being in the middle of their focus' progress (e.g. 12/35 days of progress) which theyd then finish within 10-day increments before completing their focuses one per day again.

please tell me how i can patch this, and thanks in advance.

I have a persistent crash in HOI4. Always crashes when Paris falls. Perhaps the difference in the playthru for this noob is understanding and thus using Lend Lease as the American player. I felt that China and the UK needed extra help fast – so I boosted Lend Lease to high levels that can only be sustained for about a month. Sent were a divisions worth of guns, and enough AA, AT, Arty and support for 2-3 divisions. Also sent the UK 168 aircraft for the month. My convoys seem to handle this no problem and I as the US am at peace. The plan was to reduce Lend Lease to sustainable levels after one month had passed. But now with Lend Lease running the game always crashes on the fall of Paris. I have a China AI buff and the 24 aircraft per squadron mods running. Thoughts?

You don't move them directly like ground units. You can give them orders that send them to places, like patrol a naval sector or raid convoys

@polar junco : You can only move ships to a port if you are out of range of where you want to be. But - if you catch them when they have moved into range of the new port then you can give them a new order for that operating zone. Hope that helps.

I mean select the ships - right click the port you want to move to - stop the game when the ships get into the clear zone (not cross hatched) near the new port - change their orders - like right click the tile you want them in. Does that help?
