I attempt to play kaiserredux, go on to play it, but instead of having kaiserredux load the base game loads. And no, this is not an oversight, this has happened to me countless times and is not because I forgot to turn it on.

Since they did what was requested:
Add HOI4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it also to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

If you have the MSI Gaming App or Rivatuner installed, disable it as it clashes with this game.

I have a few more problems. 1. The game is not displayed in the Paradox Launcher (I logged into the account with linked steam, but I activated the game with the key.) 2. In the research section, some textures overlap others. For example, in the section with tanks, the textures of the engines show on light tanks.

That doesn't make sense. HoI4 has a launcher of it's own. Could you be more specific/show a picture? The overlap is most likely an issue of yours. I do not have any issues with the textures

When I try to play certain hoi4 mods and they are enabled when its entering hoi4 game with mods turned on it just loads base game withouth mods and mods are correct version and if they manage to load it just crashes and it says some error in map

Many people have this problem with Direct X11, scroll above. Replacing it with Direct x9 helps everyone, it can be done in the hoi4 launcher

I noticed a bug that if I turn off the 3d models option in the game, the division model just shrinks instead of disappearing. The same with the 3d buildings option. But if I go to the menu, and turn off the option there, after that I enter the game, they will be turned off.

For example, the flag of Austria is located on the territory of Italy, and the division is located in Austria. The divisions of Lithuania are located in Memel, but it appears as if they are in another part of the country

I am currently running a Intel Xeon E5-1620 and the game lag is terrible. I have 1000 hours in Hearts of Iron 4 and I have never finished a game. Actually I have never played the game properly due to it taking me like 8 hours to reach 1939. Would i5-12400F make a good replacement for my current CPU? I want to run the game smoothly and actually be able to play the game. (I have tried using FPS mods and other optimization mods)

Mexico made the Synarchist Pact, got in war with the US and no one took a station. Faction dissolved so it shows "join the ." as option. After a few days they joined Allies and the decision still shows, but they are not a faction leader of the Allies.

Also, before the second screenshot occured, I am playing as Puerto Rico, already in the Allies because I am a puppet of the USA and they joined Allies at the start of the war with Mexico.

How to clear cache

Open file explorer
Go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV
Move the mod, save games, Screenshots folders, as well as career profile files to somewhere else on the drive. (If these don’t exist or you don't care, ignore this step)
Delete everything in the Hearts of Iron IV folder.
Put all the moved files and folders back in.
Launch the game again.

me and my friend have tried to play some hoi4 multiplayer for some time now but we couldnt have really played because for some reason my game doesnt keep up with my friends game so i would be like 1 week late compared to his game and then my game would be really laggy so i got the idea to come here for some help if someone had any idea how to fix this. I've recently been having some issues with my HOI4, such as; massive lag spikes, overall less FPS compared to what I've had before and much slower/choppier gameplay.
It had always run smoothly as I have quite a good PC, but all of a sudden the game just became unplayable for no reason.
Deleting and reinstalling the game, uninstalling Steam, clearing all my save files, I've done it all but to no avail; HOI4 continues to lag.
I can run every other game on the same graphics quality as before without experiencing any performance issues.
Are there any solutions to this?

Follow those steps exactly:
1- Unsubscribe any mod you have
2- Uninstall the game
3- Manually delete the two Hearts of Iron IV folders, you can find one under documents and the other under steamapp. Those are the usual paths to find the folders
under documents
C:\Users\user\OneDrive\Documenti\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV
and under steam
C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Hearts of Iron IV
4- Open Windows Settings and search on the Applications if the Paradox launcher is still in the list, if it is uninstall it.
5- Restart your pc
6- Install the game again
7- Try if it works

Alright, I managed to fix it. All it took was deleting HOI4 and the PDX launcher & reinstalling them.

De-syncing only occurs on lag spikes, and in general connection issues but in very rare occasions the game might've been corrupted

Most common issue is wifi, perhaps it has lag spikes? I don't really play MP a lot but to my knowledge that's the most known reason

Yesterday I had an issue with the launcher, it said it couldn't open up a folder in my documents, I deleted the folder as a guide said as it would remake it when launching the game again, since then, I can't even load the launcher anymore, regardless of if I've verified game files or reinstalled the game, anybody able to help?

Hello,
-I have downloaded Hoi4 and the some dlc (Waking Tiger, Together for Victory, and Death or Disohonor).
-It ran on my computer well with maximum graphics at full speed. I played as France up until 1938. My computer has decent specs I believe as it was able to do this
-After that, I stopped playing until the next day and opened the game

Frame rate was in the single digits, there was a lot of lag even though the game was paused. A couple minutes later there was a nasty game crash and I couldn’t even open task manager. I had to force shut down my computer
-Rebooted, reinstalled, turned graphics all the way down but there is no progress. In addition, I started a new campaign to see if it was because things were getting complicated, but it was just as laggy as my save file.
-I changed renderer to directX 9 (legacy), did not work
-I cleared my game cache, had no effect
-Is there anything I can do to fix this? I’m really lost and I was hoping I could play this weekend : (

the problem in question is a slow frame rate regardless of resolution of quality selection. I get HOI4 doesn't run well even on powerful machines (or atleast in my experience with my last PC) but i presume their is some sort of answer behind the games unusable state

@next fjord Found a fix, with mixed help from PDX and googling, PDX support guy almost instantly knew the issue was OneDrive, but simply removing it from my PC didn't fix it, as my Documents folder was still under C:\Users...\OneDrive\Documents. What ultimately fixed it was using the windows registry, and changing the location of the documents folder in there. I haven't tried restarting my game yet, as at this point i'm too scared to, but if I don't post an update saying it doesn't work, that's what fixed it for me

I'm having this issue where the game sounds distorted, almost like it would be open several times. This is not just the music, it's every sound possible, unit selection, clicking buttons, etc.
I have tried the following:
Disabling all mods, clearing cache, reinstalling the game, updating audio drivers.
I rolled back to 1.9 (the last version that I knew was working) and surprisingly, it was back to normal. The issue returns when switching to the latest version.

Would be very happy if someone could help out 🙂

Theres a bug with the launcher where it sometimes doesnt detect your mods or their descriptors, try:
-Unsubscribe (note down which for later)
-Open the launcher (let it load)
-Close the launcher
-Resubscribe

OR

Go to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV and delete launcher-v2.sqlite

If you cannot seem to get achievements:
-Right click the game in your Steam library
-Open properties
-Verify file integrity
If you still have issues you can try deleting the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/ folder (keep the saves/mod folders in there if you made any of those that you want to keep)

How do I get hoi3 to work on windows 10, I've tried LAA and that doesn't seem to have done anything

nvm I'm sure i got an old copy of windows somewhere and I'll just run it on a VM.
