It would be really hard to organise a fallback line you would have to draw it on the entire front and not get pushed beyond that elsewhere
I just let them come to the fallback and then switched to a frontline once I was getting pushed back

The field marshals are assigned to the whole front so I have to draw a fallback line across the whole front
if I get pushed somehwere in the south the divisions will break cohesion meanwhile the germans havent pushed to the fallback line in the north

U can dock and repair at anval base
Naval supply hub is a upgrade for high level anval bases and allow fleets to increase range from their besides their home base

ok so basically me and my friend were wanting to play hoi4 together a while ago and we kept getting different numbers when we booted up the main game even though the numbers in the launcher was the same. then here recently, i was trying to do something with the other drive in my laptop and all of my saves were erased and the mods in the playset were different (i dont really care about this part lol). so me and my friend tried again and the numbers in the launcher were the same, but when i booted up the actuall game, the numbers in the parenthesis were different, but his were identical. also i turned off my dlcs that he didnt have and we were on the no mods playset

No step back
If the war is stagnated, the first thing you should do is look for places where the enemy is most vulnerable. Tiles with only one division, plains and desert tiles, tiles where you have good supply and the enemy has low supply. Concentrate your attacking divisions there, max out planning bonus and you should breakthrough in no time.
If you really cannot break through, then it's likely you don't have green air. If you have a sizable economy, work towards making a large airforce to control the skies. CAS can give large advantages to break the stalemate. If you have a small industry, you should put anti air in your division templates (especially line AA in attacking ones) to help mitigate the effects.
Going further this route, if CAS really doesn't work you can try stratbombers (which are dangerously effective when done properly) to heavily damage the enemy's industry so that you will outscale them.
If you have a large navy and the enemy is highly dependant on trade, do convoy raiding and strike force your raiding zones with your main fleet + assign naval bombers. This way the enemy nation should slowly lose war support, resources and consequentially production, making you industrially superior even if your industry is small. Particularly useful when fighting a country which imports most of its rubber by sea.
Naval invasions can often break the stalemate.
If you tried everything and still can't break the stalemate, you're either playing in 1970 and the AI has 50 inf per tile or the problem lies in your division templates and/or doctrines.

I'm playing as Germany, and right before Britain capitulated the US joined the Allies. What does the US do when they are alone? Do they still plan for an invasion of Europe?
Does anyone know if there are any mods (compatible with Road to 56) that allow for the editing of divisions to more detail? Like being able to edit brigades, and even battalions, companies, platoons and squads? I know it would get really gritty, but the army editing is like my favorite part of the game.

The Checksum in the Launcher is always the default one of your current Version. It has nothing to do with DLC or Mods. When you launch the game you launch the loaded mods as well and those can change the checksum. If you use the :no mods: playset and get a different checksum your launcher has an issue.
For these fixes always have the game and launcher closed and only start them again after completing all steps.
Easiest fix is this: Go to Documents/Paradox/Hoi4 and delete the Folder named mod.
If that doesn't work google how to delete the Paradox launcher. It will auto reinstall when launching hoi through steam. Important: Back up your playset as they will be gone after
If that doesn't work google how to make a clean Hoi4 install. Important: This will delete all your saves so make sure you have copies of those in case you want to play these on.

Most events are RNG, in more recent years paradox has started to make events in games where the RNG get's decided the first time you get the event, so if there is a follow up choice the outcome will be the same. Hoi probably has some as well.

Better terrain stats, you can click across rivers and into marches more easily as well as doing naval invasions. They are better, but you need to think are they worth the effort just to go from 1k to 2k attack vs AI.
Also they cost double IC, so you will get less/ need more mils on them
If you want to invade some people go for it

It's just a pathing file to where the mods are located on your PC. The launcher will update that in a few seconds on start. Saves are not affected unless you delete the save file a few files downwards :)
While you play that game it will be as if you owned the DLC. But you can't load any saves in SP from it.

no point making it bigger or adding more support, just cost too much for the stats you get
except maybe super heavy howitzer
The british blockades don't get fixed by annexing the netherlands. As long as the UK has naval superiority, the blockades will pretty much always be there
the only way to get rid of the blockades is to beat the british navy
until then you should mostly try to trade for resources on land routes

If it's on launch make sure your only mod is MD and make sure you are on the right game version for the mod (Might not be the most recent one). If it's a save the save is outdated and you need to start a new game or find a old version of MD.

if you want cas that can fight back just do one bomb and rest be heavy mgs, and abuse the high air support mission efficiency modifier from battlefield support to get even more aerial combat stats than pure fighters when they're doing cas missions

you need to patrol the related naval zones
i have clicked on "naval invasion support"
patrol gives base supremacy, strike force gives a multiplier to your supremacy, and convoy raiding decreases enemy's supremacy
then don't click on it
they're pretty much useless even before the naval change
and your fleets don't have enough range
try to remove subs and dds or build support ships if you need more range

and I think completely abandoning 1 gives -1% war support and stabillity

I just randomly remembered this. Does it not matter that mils require less construction (so more total factories will build for the same construction requirement) cost yet contribute the same number of CG as a civ per factory, thus meaning that the CG factor while building mils will scale faster per-day, resulting in nuking your construction speed very early on? Civs, being larger investments, will take more construction per factory thus less CG taxes.

that depends on what you want to do with tank divisions. You can make every division a tank division or use them as 1-2 divisions that will pierce through one point
While that is true you also need to consider IC output. Mils are the one actually building what you need. Usually it's better to have equipment out for war rather than a high mil count. Feel free to test your theory in game tho. Easiest test is just buiding the same equipment through the entire test and vary the time you start building mils. See what your 1939 and 1941 stockpiles are and judge from there.

you can refit new guns on old hulls though
never swap armor/engine it will cost more than making a new ship

usually i do this by clicking the design after clicking the ship (because its also how you can get techs from ships you steal or whatever)
add the new modules you want
then after you save and re select the ships you can click this button
now click on this icon and refit them
uh that's more closer to a line holder div then anything but i suggest for an off div use mountaineers or regular inf and make it bit wider perhaps closer to 25-30 width and additionally line arty say about 3-4 and add support aa and field hospitals since it will help save mp and level them up quicker
if you delete ships in the production queue when refitting they wont be deleted but will go to the old design
this refit costs no resources
(some do it depends on modules added)

i dont have enough manpower to support them all with another couple units
i always have 1 research slot constantly researching gun tech ahead of time

its a big buff vs ai because ai just doesnt do that

i dont think it actually does anything for naval invasions unless you spot the units
understandable its a good template against the AI for sure and I used it a ton in my early career of a hoi4 player but try and understand this that template is trying to be a jack of all trades, because while it can do both defending and attacking doesn't mean its particularly suited to just one or the other witch may be the difference in MP or an actually competent AI cough cough sheep's AI
it is important to note that factories at game start produce both horrible equipment and in low numbers because they lack better equipment tech and production efficiency technologies which are unlocked later in the game.
that being said, I DO think people civgreed more than would be ideal.

building up production efficiency is also an overstated concern, as production efficiency builds up slower and slower as it approaches its limit, and the speed gained per day is directly proportional to capacity ANYWAY which means faster absolute efficiency scaling on new mils

Well, it's different what you do on most Nations. But I will give you some general purpose Templates then:
Tank: 8 Heavy/8 Mech; Assault Engi, Scout LT, Med Flame, Field Hospitals, Logistics.
Defense Inf: 36w or 35.7 on Large unit tactics. Support AT3 (else don't bother), AA, Logistics
Offensive Inf: 36w Mountaineers, if you go through mountains use 32.4w; Ranger, Med Flame, Scout LT, Logistics, Field Hospitals

A lot of nations still have a use for early mils. There's some equipment you will build through the entire war that will not get new tech levels. Among these are Basic Heavy Tank, Support Equipment, Trains and Trucks. These things you will build anyways, so having a few mils on that stuff already stockpiling it is really good. So I can't entirely agree with you on that point.

If your Carriers get into a battle your Planes launch automatically. Else they do nothing. If you manually put your carrier in a sea tile you can use them like a normal airfield.

Whats the idea behind mixing rangers and marines or mountaineers? Do those divisions still specifically serve as naval invasions units or are they more general purpose since theyre mixed
I recall reading in here that there was a cap on amphibious attack which is why you add mountaineers, but when would you add mountaineers over rangers, arent there more forest costal tiles than mountains? Or is it for hill coastals

kind of like an ocean where its like seemingly infinite and sometimes violent, but its also chill
Marines are the worst of the special forces as all they have is amphibious attack, so you want to substitute Marine divs with actually good stuff. So when making Marines you just want to have 50% amphibious attack, that means your landing will have no penalty from invasion.
Good Marine div filler is:
• Tanks, big damage
• Rangers, forest and Urban attack bonus
• Mountaineers, most damage per combat width from an inf template bc of combat width reduction in the SF tree
In MP you want ranger bc Brest is all Forest, Urban and Plain. So better odds of landing. Afterwards Mountaineers do help as well tho. In SP do Tanks 😆

Make sure you use political power for army/politcal advisors, Organise your army to a field marshal and generals with 24 units each and if battleplanning doesn't work then attack where they look weak
