Yeah personally I'm no expert with non-bba planes since I only got good after the DLC, but I spam light fighters with as many 4x heavy guns as possible and spam out extra rage with defense cannons (and 6x engine or whatever the highest is). At least against the AI it works pretty well, at least until the late 1940s or so when they build better planes

non bba planes are actually pretty different I noticed, ever since I got the DLC’s. But as long as the air mechanics haven’t been changed, heavy fighters are actually just the absolute best for every nation unless you don’t have a large industrial base

Oh, that's no biggie, it just means you're not producing enough and have your old planes dying first.

Heavy fighters are fine but all ticks in reliability are wasted since accident chance in air are extremely rare and capped. A 0% reli plane may lose 1 a week tops

In any case,hover over the data the game gives you to figure out what's not working. There's a ton of info you just have to look for so you can understand

I'd imagine it'd be the other way around, you can invade from the east but not the west, because Gibraltar is an east facing tile and that's annoying because if you invade west you go all the way around Africa

ger and sov do 39w but sov usually only really clicks on plane tiles and ignores clicking on forests, unless ger is easy clickable. Overall forests tho are not as punishable bc you wont be fighting perfect mech bricks on defense there with 5k defense stats
