Is the navy completely broken since the last update?
I have 8 fleets under a single admiral, and I’m forced to select ONE home port that applies to all 8 fleets under that admiral. As a result, the operational range for all fleets is calculated from that single port, instead of each fleet operating from different nearby ports like before.

This basically means that if I want to protect something like the Pacific with destroyers, I now need almost one admiral per fleet just to assign different home ports. That forces me to scroll through an unmanageable port list to manually assign different home bases, just to replicate functionality that worked fine before.

Is this intended design, or is the navy system just fundamentally broken right now?

It's improtant to say tho, that on tier 1 and tier 2 heavy cannon is better

you always need some mobile infantry
preferably don't use motorized (it's expensive inf), instead use cavalry and get mechanized infantry (trucks n°3, under gun research) asap. with germany you have a focus on the left that allows you to get it very early (it'll say something about "2 years ahead of time")

there's a stat in the division called combat width, you want this to be between 35 and 36 for tanks, 32 at bare minimum
try to always have 8 mobile infantry (cav or mech ideally) so your tank can attack and not get absolutely destroyed because of lack of HP and organization

arty cost a lot, line arty takes 3w instead of 2 (reduced to 2.2 by doctrine, still bad), has no stats but soft atk (you want breakthrough to attack as well and HP to not take losses), works like ass in any terrain but plains/desert

tanks and, in singleplayer no dlc, light SPGs do the same thing but with more buffs from tech and doctrines, with more brk and HP, take less width and less combat penalities and have way higher soft atk stats. You also lose way less of them because of hardness (AI doesn't know how to build against tanks)

The difference is somwhat limited when no DLC but is important as soon as you get either the no step back DLC (tanks) or Arrms Against Tyranny (special forces) so you don't want new players to pick up some bad habits

Hello, are you meant to put trucks or tanks in infantry divisions?

Trucks has the same stats as infantry only faster (4 km vs 12 km)

Division speed is equal to the lowest speed battalion in a division so your mixed division won't be any faster

Mixing divisions that use fuel with divisions that doesn't use fuel is a terrible idea

Putting 1 tank battalion in an infantry division is called spacemarine where you abuse how armor effects the combat and it is effective against AI

Yes, naval invasions transfer troops with convoys and you can kill them by raiding
