ok, this is just before the götterdämmerung dlc was launched.
ok , thanks
Why there is no strike? I still stay at 1.16 to finish my run. But when i try to do coordinate strike nothing happen.
guy im having a problem
is there any flow charts with what focus Path is good to choose?
so basically i cant move my fleet to my allied regions even tho im allied with france
that has to do with the new naval system.
goddamit
naval range projection (where the center of it is decided) is now back to being decided by where their home base is.
you should be able to set a home base in a french port.
there are several ways to increase the naval range, such as support ships, doctrines, underway replenishment, naval supply hubs, and maybe more.
oh, focuses.
those too.
i managed to do that but can it do it automatically?
guess what the cog next to it does?
oh damn im so dumb
can be toggled using the shift+s shortcut when having a admiral selected.
how can i convert these into medium tank divisions without loosing experience?
I am gonna throw guess and say you dont.
hey guys, i just had a great netherlands playtrough and now im trying to get a realistic way for the entante and the reichspakt to start ww3, so if you have any scenario's (like a koreo or bomber fly over ) drop them here please, il be singing of for now so ping or dm me il respond in 12 hours
i saw a way in youtube before but i dont exactly know if its patched or not
I believe you convert them to a 50w with equipment disabled
But I don’t really remember
maybe a violent austro-hungarian collapse turned into a proxy war escalating into ww3?
not sure if that is possible though within kaiserreich.
The other way I remember is to change the div in the actual division template
I am playing as Italy and want to know what I should do to conquer Etheopia. I can capture all the Etheopian areas but the Emperor leaves and I do not get credit for conquering it. I see the resistance is always high ie 30 - 45%. How do I effect the capture of Etheopia?
I have a question about supply. I am currently playing Italy to learn the game mechanics, I once in a while will play Turkey. My North African and Ethiopian troops are always low on supply, should I be upgrading infrastructure, rail roads, upgrade port facilities etc? What number of civilian factories should I shoot for before adding stuff to my supply lines?
Day one send entire army and airforce to Ethiopia
Aggressive battleplan them
And make motorisation of your armies triple truck motorised
Occupation law civilian administration or whatever it’s called
Also send tanks south and mountain infantry north
That’s a slight optimization you can do but imo it doesn’t really matter
The war is not very difficult
You can usually flank down the western side of Ethiopia by pinning units in the centre. Its an easy war once you commit everyone
Its pretty easy if you dont tbf, you just dont want Rastafari Jesus to catch his train
The main thing really is the air because it makes them not able to reinforce
I usually flank the eastern side tbh
How can I up my defense? I don't think I have enough
What you need is breakthrough
Also hover over the attack and breakthrough icons here
I am defending
Also why are you attacking Germans in snowy mountains
I am the germans
I won as the soviets so I switched
The Soviets literally have zero attack
Honestly its down to the AI. Once you get those units from Aussa you can sometimes cut off the east without resistance
need a higher KD, currently about 14k to 1.4m but a guy earlier said he had a higher so I'm tryna beat it
Basically each point of defense reduces a point of attack from rolling 40% to rolling 10%
You don't need more defense you need more attack
ah, how can I do that?
Make tank divs and do encirclements
If I move for even a second I will unfortunately die almost instantly due to each tile have 30 stack of tanks and inf, the full way around
It’s really not that deep though because if you split your air over the air zones evenly and split your troops too you can just battleplan it very quickly
I added Rocket Artillery Support and now we're up to 130KD, thanks
oh then use mountaineers my bad
that said
Oh 100%. You don't need to flank at all, you can just keep pushing them back. I'd argue its better to not flank because it lengthens the war a little bit to help squeeze that extra xp out.
no
this game isnt about number of divisions
Yeah if you want to grind it’s a different story
but quality of them
30 ai divisions per tile should be feasting, not very scary
it allows you to encircle / kill a lot in a small place
how can i make the resistence lower
Only issue is the terrain is horrible
You simultaneously have to cross a large river and attack a mountain tile
go around
True, although the terrain around isn't that good either
The large river, the Inn, continues along to the Danube, which roughly follows the line of the Czech forts and then continues into the Slovakian Carpathians
How do You make a lot of tanks quicly cause tank template that are Good need like a lot of tanks and fast do u i just put all My mils into tanks??
Someone explain the benefit that HQ's have or better yet where I can see the bonuses they offer? Like am I picking my best admirals or just throwing trash in there?
make a convert tank with cheapest gun an the techs u already have, leave slots for tech u don’t have empty, put mils on it and produce till u have ur main gun (howy 1 or 2 in sp ) and refit the design and click on convert
also research conversion tech 2
hey what is the easiest way to survive as Poland without being fascist
spam cheap divisions and go sfp + defensive sub doctrines
grand battleplan does nothing if ur defending
defensive inf or ww1
oh no
gives ur inf 30% def
but grand battlepland gives so much entrenchment
entrenchment doesn’t matter
as soon as you move you lose it
or as soon as they take a tile
gg
so what if idont move
can I just hide behind the river
with static warfare and all that
ur gonna have to and gbps main strength doesn’t lie in entrench but planning and planning does nothing in defense
also the stats u gain from entrencjment combat modifier is lower than the def from the 30%
which path?
theres no path anymore theres only main and subdoctrines
just tale sfp main doctrine
I meant pp
dozer blade 😍
for the record not that pp polical path
is the 3×3 inf +eng good enough?
just do 10-16w inf
why no my 18w
orgwall+recov+spirit of defiance
too expensive
ur poland
u want cheap and a lot of inf
Poland can into space
add aa and signal in if possible
why signsl
SFP spirit of defiance guerrilla warfare gaming
aa I get but not signal
inf needs signal after doctrines change
ideal
u dont have enough reinforcement anymore
But doesnt refit take time too tho?
Only later on no? So it'd be better to hold off to save ic
yes but u build cheap tanks earlier and the entire game witz efficiency building up on the line
ok aint no way im adding signal companies to my inf division
the earlier the better, u need to put early mils on support equipment anyways as u dont change them and they can easily build up full effi
Refit is way cheaper once you have one or two of the 40% speed techs, and for tanks + planes, has no penalty iirc
if u want to be ignorant
its alright if u don’t know what it does
and why its needed
What does it do? I don't remember the buff being that crazy
aint it a bit expensive for Poland?
More the support arty giving 20% SA
gonna have to put half of my mills on support
reinforce rate which got nuked after removal of mass assault right side
and u lack it hard on inf now
if u don’t have it u get reinforce memed out of the tile
like all the time
esp now after doctrine changes
Huh.
and the bigger the inf the worse it gets
before doctrine change only 35w inf needed it now u need it on small inf too
What about tank module? Cause i start producing one cheap tank to refit later but when i eventually can refit it the tank becomed old af and i have to start over
no
put 4-5 mils on support equipment
and ur good
build mils day one
and ur good
go concentrate aswell
nooooo but my civ greed
I've been playing a WTT Nat china game, went united front and have fought japan till white peace. Communist china did the uprising and lost, I took their land, but I don't seem to have any route to unify china other than one china policy, which at the moment will just mean all the warlords will jump to allies/comintern and I'll have no way to claim them. Is there any path or do I just have to wait for ww2 to end so the tension goes back down?
civ greed was bad before on poland hist already but the recent update with coal killed civ greed in general
oh ye thats i why hate the coal mechanics
it soft locks nearly every country to a certain eco size
which is imo not good
Refit the ones you did make and if you need to update them then do it again.
hehe usa inf resources
dont upgrade ur tank module
stay at basic
I swear why does us have so much resources
going up is a waste
bloat
*kind of
always unless armor meme which got killed this update
theoretically
You're still gaining reliability and armour, which is something
Depends where you fight as to whether reliability is relevant
reliability is a stat to jump in for your skill issues which is good for bad players but u can get high enough reliability on basics anyways if needed so waste
and the armor is useless straight up
u waste ic, mil efficiency and tanks by upgrading your chasis
can Spain (bald guy) ever win the Civil War with his ai
is there like a small chance?
not on historical
how am i loosing
hmm weird I had it happen once when I had no dlcs enabled and before this update
mods can bug it out or u didn’t have it on historical
bad stats and probably poor modifiers
hover over ur combat modifiers
I had no dlcs no mods and his ai on
idk then, base vanilla can be bugged but it shouldn’t happen
No you are just wrong about it, it's not a scripted thing
Sometimes fascist spain just has a really bad time
and loses
The odds are certainly in their favour but it's not forced
wait maybe because Spain doesn't have the focus tree
so commie Spain doesn't get 20 thousands debuffs
and nat Spain doesn't get the buffs
rep spain gets modifiers tho that make it basically unwinnable for them
or maybe thats just a mod thing and not vanilla
I've seen it with and without LaR
in my opinion its rly easy to win as long as you arent anarchist path
Just keep the anarchists down and hold on the those provinces on top
should be fine
They have more attack than you
wym
Wait no
im attackikng
I'm misreading
Attack works both ways
still dont have more tho
Could be defense
their defense?
The shield icon on their divisions
They have higher defense than your attack so they're taking less damage per attack
do i need to use tanks or something
i dont know how i would get this any higher on attack
with combat width or whatever
Well you can attack from multiple directions, but they already have reserve divisions
why 4 artillery 😭 😭 😭
wym its 3
What's that template's health?
and support
it's covered
Atp just use light tanks with a howitzer
aint it a bit expensive
More divs
is this your assault inf?
Last I knew (pre doctrine rework) line arty is kind of bad, because it hurts your org and hp, meaning you take more losses. Support arty is really good value though
you're paying 600 for no hp
If you want line arty just use light spg
hey atleast its got 213 soft attack
52 breakthrough is not enough
that is really bad for a unit that costs 600
What country are you
Replace the line artillery with infantry
That wont fix his problem
id say make it bigger like 4x3 inf and 3 artillery one aa if u need it do like assault engineer field hospital support aa cavalry recon support artillery
That's overkill
yes but its good
You should be able to beat what they're fighting with less than that
it is good
Ok yes but you could then just say make a 2x4 mech with 2x4 medium tanks
That's not helpful here
as a sort of special forces breakthrough
fair enough
What country are they😭
imagine Germany with the Finland army buffs invading sov
What
Just gonna bump this
did the update somehow affect italy? It feels like italy is so weak like I don't know, before the update I wasn't even able to win once as ethiopia and now am winning all games lol
What’s that mean?
because they never had any resources
they still dont have
industrial capacity, the measure production cost
so the coal mechanic hit hard
So italy has been nerfed cuz of it
basically
Ah, I can tank it though, 400 factories w almost nothing to make
okay thanks
Wow that's a thick infantry division
Italy is still very powerful
its like a minor major
Why not just use motorised/mechanised if you have that much spare mil ic
Thats when you keep benito if you get rid of him all problems go away
on single not really
I'm just going mass mob and conquering everything as a minor
.
Not moving
benito is only 160
It’s a meat grinder
no never goes mass mob
I defeated germany and kicked the allies out of italy all alone as italy
dont you dare go mass mob
Did it get worse?
nah its still op
sorry boys im back
no but unless ur China there's no reason to
i am chile
yeah but i was playing ethiopia and they feel very weak all of sudden
+5% recruitable
???
air, tanks
yes or you could stop losing ppl because u get buffs from the doctrine
Mass mob isn't nearly as bad as it was now that you can choose whatever you want
dont waste it on infantry
field hospitals
You lose a few good tactics
mass mob isn't even real anymore
But it's not a whole investment
very expensive for a large army
Not moving yet, I have about 60 factories on tanks stockpiling, at 80k so far
And the AF sits at 35k
It ain't that expensive
nah before this DLC, China was always better as a SFP nation,
well not if you have 300 div as China with 40 mills
not mass mob
Probably the ai being the ai
if you can afford large army you can afford those few field hospitals lol
if you actually have manpower, it is less ideal to play dedicated human wave
nah doesnt feel like it
3 words, living space
https://youtube.com/shorts/6BHrWbhhqqI?si=X5vikNrvNc-ibEzz
this is what i do to my army
Ok but then you get the pain of even more army xp before you actually become good
before the update i tried playing few times with the exact same style and i was being pushed out eveyr time
now am holding the line and i can actually push smth
true lol
yes I got 300 div
are they real?
no
can I afford hospitals
no
not when japan encircled 300k ppl and I lose so much inf equipment
How'd that happen?
i never really have any troubles with equipment anymore tbh
unless i annex whole russia
Oh mb
why cant i produce mp 34s? its not leting me produce
i click it but it dont show up when i try to produce
Have you researched the next tier of gun?
Are they out of date?
its 1940
who is the leader with the most buffs?
Not about calendar date, it's about what you have researched
Idk the game well enough to tell the dates on individual guns
yeah i researched it
But if you have the gun above them
Show research
Are we deadass
and for osame reaosn my kar98 is gone?
It’s out of date
Once you research the newer equipment, the old one gets hidden. If you check "Show outdated equipment" it'll show up again
tungsen???
so i cant produce mp40s?
i mead mp38***
yes you're lacking 10 tungsten
how much did the new update change the grand doctrines overall
trade for it
like is superior firepower any better or worse overall than before
sorry not 40s sorry i am new and how do usee that??
also, is line artillery still bad
oh the materials
Completely changed, there's a bunch of line arty buffs but they're still shit hp at least
yes the thing Italy lacks
so how do i use my tungsen? do ihave to trade for them?
What's by far the best doctrine for a nation like the US that can basically build everything
Here we can see that there is 3,884 tanks needed to fill in the reinforcement for units you already have in the field but they have outdated equipment
with Sweden or Portugal
You're already using it on your anti tank and medium tanks, they're just telling you to trade for it since you're below the amount you need ( shows as the red icon)
But that's not relevant to your original question
bruh so i need to produce 3k tanks??
the + means reinforcement, the garage means they are being stockpiled
Yes
Yeah for the divisions you have
how tf i produce 3k tanks im about to attack poland
So either merge/disband some, or make a lot more tanks
You’re not using all your factories
the answer is "fk it we ball"
You still have 10 spare
also put more factories on it bruh
Interesting light tank choice
Put like 6 on tanks and the rest spread out
this is the solution my friend
if you have enough infantry divisions then you can just smash poland without tanks but attacking france may be tricky
You also don’t need Medium tanks for AI, not really
yoi can learn from china
so i should disbanded some tnak divsions?
Get the mechanized portrait of Karl Marx
dont call falkenhausen back
Benelux and spearhead paris, doss. Can also airdrop all major cities for instant cap
let him learn the art of human tanks
this is my screen so far and armys.. to much?
thats a f ocus?
You really think this guy has like 10 fully trained and deployed airborne divs rn?
bruh
what?
3 not fully filled armies
not looking good
lmaoo bruh i got the game yesterday, explain
It a joke about the army spirit of the portrait of Karl Marx that manufacters men for your army
he aint even commie broski
ah lol
by the time you start ww2 at the historical date in 39 you should have at least 5 full armies
oh mb
Template swap
oh damn.. so im behind...
You have 8 more factories to use
It's the only reason you can even play Tanu Tuva (kinda)
but its still magic manpower
like thats not even enough troops to hold off the french and british while you kill poland
and its 1940 bruh icant attack poland until 41....
You realise they're new right, you can't expect them to know anything about what you're going on about
They asked how to make guns and you're telling them "get karl marx portrait"
You only need one army
but why cnat i produce mp 38s? i click it but then it just dont show up on my production tab
I dont even think they have ni step back
pls explain
Where are you clicking
its on the production option list
click it
produce space marines
i did but it just wont show up
whats a good budget marine template?
space marines most optimal
mainly for japan in china
anything better than thishttps://youtube.com/shorts/6BHrWbhhqqI?si=X5vikNrvNc-ibEzz
I use 9x4s, but there's definitely a more optimal template
yah but i dont see it at the bottom?
Yeah they showed this
huh?/
9 marrine and 4 artillery?
why u have 2 lines for trucks?
Correct
keep one on train
you dont need much more
Omg panda
It hits pretty hard
press the 1st icon on the top of the screen with the artillery icon, then click on MP38. it should show up on your production
interesting
no dont
dont
dont
Just to be clear, you're clicking here right?
I use that design for mountaineers as well. They hit pretty hard
Two production opel blitz what??
i literally did that wehen i click it i hear the engineer sound and nothing pops
yes
production efficiency
Ok
he has it maxed for both lines
look im trying to make this simple
So you are doing it right
Just keep them thete
ATP panda is just trolling
See here, these are how much factories of each type you have, mil factories (the green ones) produce military equipment and you have some more spare you can put on the tanks and stuff. The other one is Civ factories, they make you new factories, build stuff like forts, air fields and oil stuff.
Their problem is that when they click the guns, it doesn't add a line
this^
no guns no problem https://youtube.com/shorts/6BHrWbhhqqI?si=X5vikNrvNc-ibEzz
man idk how you did this, twice i've tried now and the strat just hasn't worked. First I doomstacked on the border and tried to use real units to push, got bogged down around qingdao (think thats the name). Then tried to leave my garrison/puppet troops to hold the border and sent a huge naval invasion around shanghai, I did end up landing but got contained very quick and my troops holding my puppets borders folded like wet paper
If you haven't already, try closing the menu and reopening it, if not, save, and restart the game
Also, try closing and uninstalling
bruh do i just restart the whole game? i was suppose to attack poland 1939 but i cant until 1941
Why not?
so i should?
I'm literally doing a re-run of it now myself. Are you making sure you are taking supply hubs? You have to push for them first before securing the cities.
I'm just asking why you said you can't
So we have 50 days until the war kicks in
i also didnt know icould build multipe things in one line i thought i had to use seprate lines for one. like i would use one civilian factory per whatever i was trying to construct.. bruh
lmaoo i thought each civilian factory could only build one at a time
i mean yeah but its a waste of c ivlian factory right?
I wanna play a mod but it needs a difernet version, do I wait till it updates or can I play it already
If you have 15 factories vs 1, it builds 15x faster
for example this would build two oil refeineres. and it takes the same amount of days so why not build both?
im jus gonna restart its 1941 and i aint attack as yet
o
it says building one military factory but i see 2?
what is the 2?
That's fine, the game has a cliff-like learning curve, it will take some time to get used to
The two is the queue
@royal gazelle so this is how I'm going to setup. Effectively 47 units are just there to hold the front (yellow and purple). The red will push the front 30+ width. The one unit is a tank regiment I'll manually command for fun
huh?
So it will build one in vorpommern, finish it, then start another
sorry went to go make a sandwhich, idk what im doing wrong personally. should I be converting my whole army to hohei?
yah im jus ognna restart, its 1941 and aint done nothing
Hope the production line bug stops then
No. You don't need to convert anything. Just wait and I'll show you what I'm doing
cause when i deathstacked on the border I did get to push far, but around qiingdao the forntline stabilized and I was stuck against a wall of chinese bodies
I did add 1 unit of line arty but maybe i needed to throw more infantry on the div, i was worried about lack of guns
so i should have 4 full armies by 1939?
I'm not the most knowlegable about germany runs (kind of a big undertaking for the first time imo (but others will disagree))
But 4 armies would beat poland
what about france? a sepraste army to defend the france line?
Is this good for USA?
like while attacking poland with 4 armys make a 5th for france defense?
You will be fine just leaving like, some infantry with support engineers on the french line
ok, so france wont attack me?
They can only attack you across the maginot line at first, until you take the netherlands and belgium focus
this shit so confusing
is the new philippines achievement to control all of spain bugged? Or is it only achievable through the spain path?
only achievable through spain path
Hello
Im having a problem playing as Argentina with Trials of allegiance. Im unable to start the focus "Support the spanish coup" because it says it requires republican spain to exist. and it does exist.
can u explain thse? what are the garage up arrow and health?
Garage means stockpiling, up means upgrading, health means replenishing
^
In other words, excess equipment, excess but better equipment, and not enough equipment
huh? whats getting upgarded? and wym replenished
ah
Stockpile = It's not needed yet, building up storage
Upgrading = It's replacing worse equipment on divisions you have
Replacing = Going to divisions that are missing that equipment
ahh ok
So that 720 upgrading one means you have 720 of a worse version of that which need replacing
If someone figures why this happens or finds a solution, please dm me or answer me here.
when usay that u mean its replacing equipment that got damaged?
@royal gazelle so as you can see we've neglected the mountains and are pretty much holding it with one army (purple). Mean while my main assault army is pushing the coast line and yellow is just filling the gap.
No, old equipment
"damaged" equipment is lost (effectively deleted) and would be showing the replacing icon
but there is only one light tank 2 that ihave?
so its replacing light tank 1?
If you go into the logistics screen (the notepad) and click on light tank, you can see the different variants you have
Yeah
so when i produce new equipent it replaces older variant?
Yes
ah nice and the health means how much i need to supply troops? lets say it say 20 health and i produce 5 a week, it will take 1 month to supply troops with equipment?
Yeah the red plus
@royal gazelle already taking Qingdao with minimal restiance.
nicee
in planes, what's the difference between ground support and ground attack
What do you mean by ground support?
That's not a stat
its 2 v 4
you have no supply and are attrition-ing org
they have more org and you get damaged a lot because low breakthrough
Ground attack is the stat that determines how much damage the plane does when doing close air support
@glacial steeple so do i need tanks
idk how to get more breakthrough with infantry
also idk why its 2v4
you need something that deals more damage than the enemy infantry and you need breakthrough
excuse the low quality of the screenshot, it's a screenshot of a live stream
recon tanks, super heavy howitzer, flame tanks, doctrine
the flying artillery gives 10% more ground support
Huh.
iirc those tiles get a massive defensive buff called brown water navy. which always makes uruguay a massive pain. Also you have no supply and your divs are way too big for those tiles so you're just stacking debuffs on yourself
I guess it's just a 10% flat increase at everything a plane in ground support order is doing?
@glacial steeple so is there an infantry unit that can get this job done without tanks
ground support is a unit stat i think
You would think
You are outnumbered and out of supply. A general rule of thumb is that defending tends to be easier than attacking, so keep that in mind.
AFAIK it's not though
mountaineers
its not even in mountains though?
If it was 10% buff to close air support missions, it'd be called 10% mission efficiency
@royal gazelle I took Shanghai and am still steadily pushing in. They actually snook past a gap I mistakenly left in the north but just keep eyes on it here and there. It's isolated and we'll push them back by committing a lot of the divisions that are expected to hold. It won't be easy but we should take it back.
idk man i run into a mass wall and cant break through, theres always divisions waiting for me at qingdao and other supply hubs and now im bleeding supply and cant move anywhere. I'm probably just not picking the right doctrine or something but I cant do it
I'm not tryna play hoi4 rn this is someone else who's playing and now I'm interested too, but next time I play I'll look further into this
I could just open a plane in the designer to look for anything called ground support
special forces attack better than normal inf in general
Mountaineers have other terrain buffs as well as being stronger infantry once you have research and doctrine
after the first warlord surrenders I gotta put my frontlines back in place then push on and always hit the same stopping point
so whats final look? do i just go tank division or stronger infantry
It's probably too late in the campaign. You have to be quick and decisive. Burn through them fast. Similar to Germany and USSR.
usually though
but everything I've tried to look up does suggest that ground support is, as emi says, literally just the name of the order
paraguay has great defensive buffs
@opaque mauve where can isee how much "production" i have?
You don't have nearly enough troops
you want a large front + CAS
im pumping out as much as I can spamming nothing but mils
wronh photo, meant thjat
Each factory gives 5? I think
Each factory is 5 per day *
You can compensate for inferior numbers by using force multipliers like CAS, or by investing in tanks
also omg casey I didn't know you were certified hoi mod hii
That cost number is just the total cost of the equipment that division needs
so how do iknow if i have enough production??
i know i can beat china im just trying to copy this guy's speedrun strat in killing them in less than a year
why am i getting exceeding combat width penalty how do i remove that
Make your combat width closer to the maximum for that tile
how
Smaller divisions
i just watched a video saying new meta is 36 width divisons
What
Anyway
36 doesn't fit nicely into 90
you can only fit two before you'd be going over the maximum
I feel like there are a million things more important than combat width in that screenshot tbh
Maybe but that was the question they asked
Yeah
Why were they getting overstacking penalties
@royal gazelle I've constantly been moving my frontlines down so I can focus my assault divisions on the coast.
I wouldn't even really worry much about combat width in general unless you're doing everything else right
@opaque mauve so is the problem my template
or what
if i make a new template what are some things i need
The problem with overstacking? Yes. The problem with not winning? No
that does remind me i keep forgetting to use my navy for shore bombardment
idk either im missing the right doctrine or more likely i just don't have the micro skill to do it
I'm not an expert on division design, personally I'd be using 18/20w with support arty and engineers
@cosmic rain how i fix winning
You're outnumbered and out of supply
Because then you can fit 4 of those into a 90 width tile, and you're reducing the jungle penalty
Maybe less shit than it was
I have a question
But combat width wasn't the problem
It's the fact it has no HP
You can get some more org on it now so it's maybe less bad
When does stacking penalty apply cause it hastnt done when exeeding the combt with wich i thought was what triggered it but no apparently and it hasnt triggered when i have a lotta divisions so what triggers it?
Is espionage part of a dlc? I don’t see that icon.
Stacking penalty is when you have too many divisions on a tile, exceeding width is when you have more combat width in a combat than can fit
Yes, La Resistance
@cosmic rain we both have 20 divisions
Not in the same fight
is that combat width
No
To elaborate you don’t want to exceed width at all costs
then why are they not in the smae fight
A division has a combat width based on the battalions in it
Each inf batallion is 2 width
Combat width refers to how much space a division takes up in battle
The maximum width for the battle is shown in the middle at the top
and on each side is how much width that side is using
does someone mind showing me a template that would work
It can be increased by expanding the battle across multiple tiles
For offense: 32-36 width depending on tiles
For defense: 10-16 width depending on personal preference
16 width pure inf is good
^
Each extra direction adds some width to the battle (depends on the terrain)
Note you may not always want to do this, for instance if the enemy has 32 divs on a tile and you only have 4 to attack with
ok ill try 16th width rq
True!
It will let them get more in the battle and keep reinforcing, which means in this case you will want to attack with only 2 at a time (one direction) to prevent that
@spark swallow should i have any support
If you can afford it
and engineers probably
Engineer, arty, aa is pretty good
Just be mindful that a 16w division is only half as strong as a 32w division (provided there are no CW reduction doctrines unlocked)
Arty support is also the same stats regardless of width
so smaller units are actually fitting more support arty in one fight
Bigger value
So two 16w divs are stronger than one 32w
But also less hp and org so more damage taken and worse at attacking
@cosmic rain so is two 16w equivilant to one 32w
Guys, how do I fix the logistics fulfillment? It says here it's at 0%, but I'm not at war. When I hover my mouse over it, it says it's due to a lack of trains, but I don't even know how to get trains.
You can research and build them
@cosmic rain so can i just go for 32w then?
Support tab
Depends on what you're measuring by
You can, I just think low worth is easier to use if you’re newer
I agree
But 32w is completely fine as well
still loosing
Where can find this research (including excavation research)? I only find military research.
thats only 16 percent debuff tho
You have no supply
Try winning instead?
attrition is only 16 percent debuff
Support company tab at the bottom I think, I don’t really remember without looking at the menu
Read the rest of my comments
Tabs at the top of the research window
Is this DLC? It's not showing up for me.
What are your templates?
Trains are at the bottom of one of them, if it's not in support research it's in infantry
Show gun technology
And put up cas
If you don’t want to try in hoi4
Build CAS fighters
Your industry research is in the last two tabs
Cas fighter template is 4x hmg in first tab, bomb bays/locks in rest
And get extra fuel tanks
Can you attack the tile from multiple directions at the same time? This will expand your combat width
And you use ground support mission
Enemy already has more divisions that will enter the fight
Plus if they're undersupplied they'll still lose
I'm aware, but it depends on how much he can expand it vs how many reserves there are
can some explain this please? why cant i use my civilian buildings? its says consumer goods???
i have a question i can make more than 24 divisions but only one army can fit on the front right so is there a point for this war
You can put multiple armies on a front. There is no limit.
@opaque mauve
But, if the combat width is filled, more armies won't help you
@cosmic rain should i max it out then?
No. Adding more troops is going to make the supply worse
Your consumer good factor is high enough to use up all your civs
Then you should use planes
CAS is insanely useful
I would suggest so
Refer to my design
no?
so how do i stop so i cant use it on what i want?
you can put as many on a front as you want
Do focuses and improve eco law
Even if your divisions suck, CAS damage is not tied to the quality of your divisions whatsoever, and it will just damage the enemy troops
On most nations partial mob/war eco is forst pp pick
how do iimprove eco law?
it does provide an up to 35%? comabt buff to your units
Go to country tab (click flag)
Watch these if you’re struggling with the base mechanics
besides the damage
1 hour? bruh
Which is very useful
But I thought it just debuffed your enemies
?
no
it does both
air supremacy debuffs your enemies
Other YouTubers have videos too
fighters
Huge
It doesn’t really make sense for us to explain how to navigate the ui to each new player that comes here
Moderators, a spam bot who tries to advertise a game here @CLUEY96
But spills!.!.!
How long have you been sat here trying to figure stuff out :p
Also forgot spills was a moderator here. Lmao
those are shorter than over text
oh hes still here
Could you make a ticket with supporting evidence please, by dming the pdx bot
u right i been texting for about 2 hours tyring to figure out lmaoo
ahhh i remember my first time losing to poland
And air supremacy is from fighters mainly
good times
He dm's people
That doesn’t change what he said
what's the best superior firepower paths for USA now
One that gives planning
Sorry I'm not familiar how it's done
Dm the pdx bot with your issue and screenshots of the rule breaks
more attack
Planning gives you attack
turn anybody i encounter into ash
Sfp is 10w with support arty I believe
dm the @hearty wave bot with evidence of your claims, it will open a private channel between you and server moderation, it will then be looked into and handled from there.
Do you think that they will relive the exploit around civil wars, and deleting your divisions before igniting it?
Uh, next time then. Cause I already blocked it, and thus dont have access to the messages.
Yall remember when you could duplicate airwings to print infinite manpower?
Or was it splitting
I forgot
is the battle royale achivement bugged?
?
Oh
Yeah you might have to modify the design, or possibly build a closer airport
why is my supply so garbage here
4/10 bait
its a level 10 port
tf you mean bait its a genuine question why is the largest naval base i can make in the game in pearl harbor of all places experiencing crippling supply issues
I mean, 124 ships
Its pearl harbor bruh not jacksonville
There might be a way to see the supply consumption of your fleet vs the supply availability in the port? I dunno
you know what? 1940 isn't a speedrun record or anything, but im happy for it, usually takes me much longer to cap china
Check supply mapmode
not much to see
bright orange for bad supply
not telling me anything i dont already know
How much supply are the ships demanding?
In supply mapmode what's the line running into the port say
Tf
Do you need another level 10 port to "connect" to the one in hawaii?
Yes
If I do I have LA and san diego
Oh
You don't need sea control for convoy do you?
There's no level 5 railway to the level 10 port when you start off
Do you need to build railways going to the ocean port to bring supplies from the capital to the pott?
Yes
You need the same flow rate from main hub to endpoint
That makes sense
So what's happening is it's bottlenecked on the way to the port, then that port is serving most of its supply to other locations
right
so it only gets 4
holy jesus was it always like this and i didnt know this?
I don't think so. I play a lot of US and never had an issue deathstacking in Hawaii or Manilla even for that matter
I clicked upgrade bottleneck on the supply hub on honolulu
this has to be new having port supply be determined by land supply too
ill report back ig
oo
Makes sense
Might it be to do with the new home ports thing
Is that port the home port for the fleet
i love 5 research slots in 1936
Can we not just mix and match? Level 6 on one port and level 5 on another?
So it can get a little supply from both
Does the AI do licensed productions or can you lend lease ships now or wtf is going on here? GB went down King's Path and joined the Axis.
No, unfortunately supply is annoying like that
I don't think you can licence ships
And idk why there'd be any events for germany to give uk ships
You can
I stand corrected
Why is the UK licencing ships from germany then lmfao
Can you tag switch and see?
just did
Oh mb
nbd
they are not requesting licensing from germany and they are building... something.
honestly, not bad
when they do USA rework they should add a mechanic where if your casualties go too high in a short period of time during the war your ws and stability tank
AI WTF are those generals
This is already a thing
That already happens to every country
100hrs noob here
Always being playing british malaya ,
I fully switch to fascism but I'm still stuck in allies factions. How do I even leave a faction?
Casualties drop your war support
i try not to think about it
Low war support tanks your stability
Yeah but it doesn't do too much if you have plenty of PP to spare
You can't unless you break free of british control, you need to gain autonomy
You can do that by getting war score or sending lend lease
Can somebody explain coal to me in short? I find coal very confusing
With the US it was one of few countries that was really apprehensive to losing so much life to achieve victory
British malaya had changes recently due to NCNS where there no more singapore , singapore is now part of UK
Or often through the focus tree!
and the continuous focus
It's just fuel for your factories. No coal means all your factories slow down.
I don't think british malaya has a focus tree?
Think of it like how fuel fuels ships, trucks, tanks, divisions but for factories instead
Arh ok so i have to land lease convoys to break free then?
That's one simple way yeah
So ignore if your good, but worry if you aren't?
I advise looking through your focus tree, there are usually ways to break free through theee
There
You can lend lease whatever though, it's based on IC
Depends on what country you are
British malaya is generic focus tree , no breaking free via focus
Gonna play as Hungary
With Gotterdamrung
Huh? Seriously?
Lacking coal basically locks you to 1936 ic output
Wdym "seriously"
If its historical than you might need to trade for coal from germany or something
It's one of countless small nations
But its no different than trading resources from any other country
I do plan on froming greater hungary so its semi historical
I'm surprised it has no focus tree, I just assumed they would have added it with TFV
Nah they only did the big dominions
Continuous focus only gives 0.5 per day though it's not great
Idk if you could even break free before you get forced into ww2
yall think the USA rework is going to make them harder or easier to play
and then once you're in a war you can't stop being in the war
both
def harder
Mostly harder indeed
they should introduce a system similar to pre-NCNS china where you had to gain alot of experience to remove debuffs
Paradox has an insatiable urge to add completely unnecessary mechanics
since the US military generally was farily inexperienced compared to its opponents early on
Well, the faction and doctrine were old...
Instead of using the balance of power from 3 mainline DLCs ago, lets add a little thing in the focus tree to represent the same thing
Please no I hate that mechanic so much as china
Like it wouldn't have to be as bad as china obv
Ig not as bad for the US because you have 4 years to just sit on exercise
it wouldn't even matter
These were GOOD changes. Faction needs some serious work but it is way better, and doctrines are fresh
I plan on buying the No Compromise No Surrender DLC when it's on sale
Factions should be base game :/
Even though IRL the US was simply that powerful there should be some way to make it somewhat a challenge in HOI4
Well they have to lock SOMETHING in a pay wall
Being able to direct your allies, and share research with them easier at least
I still think they need a way to share radar, because it sucks so much having to build a whole avionics facility just for that
Can you have 3 special forces branches with new update
I think the bigger issue is powercreeo
Because the US had marines, rangers, and paratroopers
Powercreep
Make US a billion times more powerful
500 trillion bombers per month
one kansas class super mega fleet carrier a day
trillions of sherman tanks exported accross the world
I think USA and Germany could already have that
Cant wait for the mongolian focus tree with a focus called "legacy of the khan" that gives your cavalry +800% damage basically making them stronger than heavy tanks
The problem is historically, the Axis lost in 1941 because of the massive imbalance in economy, manpower, and naval power. The only real way to make USA hard is to add annoying mechanics and/or take the historical paths a little off the crazy train.
- coring the entirety of the former mongol empire
yeah idk i really only use SF for USMC larp or paratrooper cheesing
Hungary is by far my favorite focus tree
im telling you man public opinion mechanic
Can they? I think in the German tree when you get one of the focuses that gives you a branch spec, the branch spec in the other focus goes away.
But how do you do that in a way that is fun?
fun/not adding another mechanic that's just "war support debuf to casualities+"
Hmm how about a parliament system where the only interaction is sinking PP to make the approval bar go up
