wow
like this xd
Yrs
so it depends on some variables
So halfway through 1940
yeah
dammnnn
it means you start building mils 4.6 years before going to waar
which is a reasonable estimate
Not including the fact that late mills are better because production tech
there's an option for that
this is assuming that each year, the IC output of a factory increase by 20%
which is a reasonable estimate
still, 50 months
I have tried many different combinations and it's really never lower than 4 yrs
I still feel like that 4.6 number may not be right in practice when you consider that you don't immediately cease all production when the war starts
ok that has to do with how you use the number
4.6 years before the point where you want to maximize IC
is the better way to put it
Yes
so I do civ greed myself
Assuming, that no factories will be lost as a result of this greed
because it pays off eventually
but for most people, especially in sp, you should definitely win before the civ can pay off
When do your games usually end? Plan for that
Hello, maybe not the most important bug, but i was wondering about the music player in the new update. The tracks in the OST are totally randomly ordered now, which makes it impossible to listen to the new tracks in a row. In past expansions the new tracks would be added at the bottom of the list, where I was able to find them easily. Can you please order the tracks of the sountrack by release date again?
if the game is over by 42, then that's your max
mp games? the whole game is probably decided by 43
and 42 is probably the time where ic matters the most(where most ocmbats happen)
I usually start on mils mid 38
certain nations need IC earlier than others
that's generally considered late
(I also do that, but it's because I know I won't need the IC until 42)
But because the factory number goes up faster đ
it actually does
a lot more factory
why I like saying "getting 300 factory as soviet at barb is fine, 350 is good, 400 is bad"
Well yeah
Civ factory growth is exponential
People who play hoi4 for war are losers
Real hoi4 players do it to play vic3 but simplified to the point of just being cookie clicker
Number go up đ
Then reality hits you with a 90% planning htd
why is chiang getting killed
i dont want chiang to die
or is that mandatory for the fascist path
So what if constructed civs continued building MORE civs until X date, when EVERY factory switches to making mils?
Would that be a more accurate model?
yes
underdevelopment
Rather than my 15 starting civs continuing to STILL pump out civs in 1938 when the ROI on that would be 1943
Okay
This is what I was referring to with the exponential growth btw
Civs build civs until it is time to swtich
yes
ok the issue with this is that
i only have code for simulating construction rn
but not mil production
đ so we can only build but not produce and see MIC
Hmmm
a lot more work to be done...
the MIC from the original model was on a google sheet
It would probably take some time but you would have to like store civs and mils as separate variables or something and then make the code to simulate their behaviour
yeah production is quite complicated
if i wanna write it i want it to be tech dependent
so it would be more complicated than the spreadsheet
and MIOs
heck
maube just be happy with the spreadsheet curve
Does the model currently round down? Or do 0.85 civs build at 85% speed
Could be another thing to improve
spreadsheet doesn't round at all
this, yes, it does every calculation exactly as the game does it
I see
showing when building infra is worth it
this does take into consideration that civs completed earlier would work on more civs
one of the applications of the completed codes so far
That's good
so chinese militia just has slightly faster training time for 10 less org?
same cost same everything else
look at the doctrine
ever since the new update atleast on japan my destroyers have had zero range evem when they are in a port in the region im trying to assign them to and it says thet its not an accessible region?
does anybody know how it works?
Im having a bug with my game, which is that events dont show anymore after a certain period of time. The AI still gets them but I cant see them. For example when I do the Anschluss focus I can see that I should get the event "Anschluss" in the decision tab thingy, but I dont get a popup or anything. I have also activated all event popups in the decisions. At first I thought this was caused by a mod, but I am facing the same issue in the base game.
I tested it via starting a game in 1936 and then going into observer mode until about 1937 and then trying to trigger an event popup
its very strong
with the right buffs to it
the base unit sucks
that's not what i meant, this is what i usually do
when netherland and beligum capitulated, prepare your naval invasion then once france capitulated too put most of your planes in the english channel. this one's really important, don't use your navy immediately when france capitulates. that way, english navy will put their navy somewhere (you do use it from time to time to check whether their navy is fighting somewhere)
you'll get the green sea zone opportunity just be patient
that always work for me
how exactly does a naval supply hub work?
that is an 8/2.
best infrantry template for forming ottoman empire
Well is 8/2 any good?
Also thats besides the point
cant see the stats.
This is kaiserreich no?
Also stats bad, ignore template, spend your xp on doctrine
Nothing you make with the xp will beat finishing doctrines
select a grand doctrine first.
this is what I went with as I have decided to rely mostly on armoured and motorized/mechanized for my army.
Ok
Well I am going to rely on infantry and marines
So I guess I go assault infantry?
using the remaining experience you can now mix and match doctrines for different things.
look at what they do and how they impact your units.
press the book in the bottom right, idk why but by default it only shows the effects you gain when you pick them, not for the milestones.
gbp for attack and superior fire power for defence
sfp for inf in general is good
also, operations: mission-type tactics is good.
but operations: expeditionary warfare gives naval invasion buffs.
Mission type tactics is worthless for pushing
like +25 org.
Expeditionary warfare too niche, nothing really beats grand assault for attacking
sub doctrine wise depends on what you want to play but theres very obvious options, inf tree go for the cw reduction for infantry or defensive if you lck def but not very needed in sp, operations desperate defence is fine, rapid domination too if u want stats
And desperate defence for more general play
deep battle is also fine
I dont see it, it's competing with some big stats for only 10% reinforce rate (good stat ik, but 20% soft or defence or planning)
true in sp doesnât matter that much in mp its good
esp after td buffs
wait, tank destroyers got buffed?
yes by a lot
they were already op before
and now are even crazier
oh god.
Is signal really not enough reinforce rate? Iirc that's how old mw lr played, just wanna see the reasoning since giving up 20% planning and 25% break is so hard to wrap my head around
not anymore sadly
u need as high reinforce rate as possible, ofc it depends on country theres some that wont need it
deep battle just makes it mostly similar to the old mass assault right if ur country needs it
ofc in some cases the stats are more needed but planning on inf is not needed anyways
unless sp ofc
I know this is able to use more support battalions than vanilla but otherwise its normal in what the unit can do.
but in mp inf is always for defending and never pushing
what in the unholiness is this division
is that modded?
japanese tank division I made.
40w is 4w too big
motorised is very meh
yes, as I said it is able to use more support battalions.
I plan on transitioning to mechanized when I get it.
also SPAA when you have support AA is a waste, as are TDs, AT and hard atk in general in singleplayer
alright, if other stuff is vanilla like I recommend using spgs only as they have been very buffed
without taking any spg doctrines u can get 1000 soft base and 1500 with doctrines
yes, spg only in singleplayer is busted
and still have a flat 600+ brk with 4 armor ticks and a radio lvl 3 (which is way more than you'll need against AI)
hii clown
the stat bloat after new doctrines is crazy disgusting
hey
its without armored signals on purpose
10% hard attack
just make more supplyyy
the allies tank template has it on it
I agree, ger is soft locked anyways industry wise
countries should be able to build itself
sov and ger are locked at some point industry wise
yes but its a better use of usa civs
usa isnât locked industry wise tho
give it while they have the isolation
no debuffs on railway
popo statement
u will be nuked
why
its a good idea
you hate good ideas
clownnn
whats max mountain width i forgottt
33.25 for div to fit on mountain and marsh
yees
ok so my epic 12/4 will work
i love gun 0
No
?
I don't know how to micro
Because
Every time i try to do an encirclement i become the encircled
So i try to win by pushing button
I know you
And for some reason every time i take a tile My divisions don't have supply
So they die
Is this AI
Im so cooked
Use trucks for supply/cycle troops once they become desupplied/rush for the supply hubs
put logi in your divs aswell
The field marshall supply consumption trait seems quite easy to get as well
Any advice on what doctrine to do as communist mexico with the new update?
kinda saw there are more calvary buffs now
do deathstacks still work
whats the new best tank and infantry templates?
howy spg
just like before howy medium but change its role to artillery tank
for single player ofc
inf is still any 16-18w
and the new best doctrines for them?
but u need signal in your inf
sfp for defence and inf, gbp for attack and tanks
true
thanks
i used it against 2 warlords then the game crashed because china
awesome update
sub doctrines depends on what you want to build, I recommend reading through them
yes
but theres one for spgs that make ur tanks have 1.5k soft in base template
I need some advices about template, someone here has time to answer a few questions ?
is line arty back?
it went from garbage-to-mid to mid
the opportunity cost of taking arty cw reduction doctrine makes your tanks noticeably weaker because no mobile recon/self propelled doctrine
and pure inf got even more stat bloat because paradox
it got better, but everything around it got better more, so its around the same spot tbh
still bad at attacking, is okay at defending
gg
maybe if they werent so hell-bent on giving it soft, and actually gave it break
yes
paradox doesnât understand how break works
frfr
another 60 soft for arty please mr paradox
this will fix it
eventually it'll have so much soft it'll crit regardless of what you do, and get crit in return because no break
Naval bombers
how many ? each time i've tried, i've failed
not anymore
ofc only if uk ai doesnât use carrier fighter
if they use navs wont do shit
I assume against AI no such problems?
idk didnât test, but carrier fighters ignore red ai and shred ur navs
one port strike tick is like 800 navs dead
idk tho if ai uses them
yes carrier always destroy my naval bombers
no but you can still use it with bad gun no tank tech
doesnt give break
its only like this since recent update
just soft
they added so many good doctrines for break and it doesnt matter because attack is so bloated :p
at what point should i decide to switch to regular infantry?
Do the axis attack british nigeria/south africa/south america?
never because people's militia doctrine statbloat is stupid
20% initiative per battalion cool bro
Is there something usefull i can do with spy ?
How do i make this ? Just the collab action ?
Create a spy agency.
Pick five upgrades.
Suicide pills first and then whatever you want.
Set the spies in the nation you want to make operations in.
You need two spies for collabs.
When you make 5 upgrades you get a second spy.
Wait for the network to build up.
I believe you need 50% strength.
So check the spy tab if the collab becomes an option.
There is a chance, that your spies can get caught.
Sooo... if you reach 50% strenght set one of the spies on quiet network.
That way they are safe.
Why suicide pills ?
They reduce chance that you get caught slightly.
And hiring a new spy steals less time than saving him.
You also want invisible ink for that +25% infiltration boost.
Ok. I'll try that in this try. I've always done steal plan, but that was useless. And as i have a lot of spy with Germany, i could collad many country maybe.
Whaty will that make ? Less resistance after ?
It reduces their surrender limit.
And after peacedeal when you annex it fully, you start with a high amount of compliance.
Is 100% compliance 100% of their resources and factories? I know its unlikely to achieve 100%, just wondering.
its pretty easy
just do collabs
if you have a law that gives a +% it adds it to your compliance
and yes you can get over 100%
Nice bonus. I failed in my last game stucked into russia. Having a lower surrender limit would have saved me ^^
Its needed for Russia otherwise you're fighting in the Urals.
You need at least 2
How many infantry brigade should i put in my line infantry divisions ? I went for 16 last time, and i've been told that it was too much (supply line wise)
2 collab gove in russia ?
What are you trying to achieve with this infantry?
Mainly hold the line, but push if i need to lower the pressure elsewhere.
You should get 3 but 2 will suffice and push them to the European side of the Urals.
is there any way to quickly win the japanese civil war
That is two different jobs. Holding the line can be done with 18w infantry, but to push you want a much higher 35 width.
for holding?
like 6, 7, 8
maaaybe 9 if you wanna reduce losses
delete army?
usually helps
Ok. And how many "push" division should i have then if my line infantry can't push ?
it has spawn ins tho so it wont be that quick
like mountaineers, tanks, anything large
As many as you can afford.
it depends on your available resources, nation, terrain to fight in
but generally high-attack divisions with high breakthrough (to defend while attacking)
you want to deal damage while having high enough hp so your division doesnt lose as much in combat
as small lose more
but thats fine for holding since org is averaged per batallions
Your holding divisions need to be able to hold the front while your pushing divisions work a segment of the front.
they get a lot of other divs
and doesnt go up with alrger divs
yeah but you do as well
i tried converting everything to bikes and they had a bunch of other units
yeah dont do that
Would you have a rough estimation for Barbarosa as Germany for exemple ? I could try to reach that then.
just delete the army before the war and then micro
you should have similar strenght
what happened to request garrison support
Dont you need 200 divisions any way?
like 2-3+ tank armies and like 350? 16 width inf is kind of the bare minimum
youre gonna need an army group for west and 1-2 of them east
ideally done by minor nations but thats not a thing in singleplayer so
That's crazy. I need to play Germany some time
i mean mediums are cheap
with heavies youd probably have more like 50 ish tanks
cuz germany very strong
Ok, so just 3x more than my last try, lol ^^
It was more the division numbers I was thinking of. I hate having more than two army groups đ€Ł
But infantry is always line, and pushing is "just" with tank/motorized, right ?
infantry doesnt need to be well equipped
tank/cav or tank/mech
motorized is expensive and bad
as in, adds no stats, doesnt reduce losses
costs 2.2x the amount of cav
No. Infantry are also viable to push especially special forces
oh ok. I may play too "historically"
Yes maybe half an army of moutaneers for exemple ?
you just asked how much you typically need
i assume to pretty consistently/easily win
losing isnt bad, either
I just would like to win once đ
keeps the game more scary, engaging
sure
with germany playing poorly is often just not having a good general and making mils late
Tanks will generally do a better job if you have the industry for it but you can win with infantry alone
and so your army kinda sucks
Each time i fail, i try to understand why, then i won't fail for the same reason next time. Though i stil fail đ
but youre germany so youre like haha im so strong
because like
youre fighting western europe
theyre weak af
Is there a better country to learn the game ?
I've been told it was a good way
i abided the treaty of versailles :D
like whatever you enjoy kinda?
just look at the generals youre using, how much youre producing
whether youre using better equipment than the enemy (in the field, not in theory)
and look at battle modifiers
(10 inf divs with a combined 100K manpower)
no airforce and only recon tanks because i wanted to cheat it a bit but oh well
its not like tank divs anyway
How the hell !
thats kind of the stuff youd like to see
german mils are better than finnish mils its just an example
the other two are also like, a lot of work was put in for them
yes, 10 attack means a lot of leveling
no?
you have bohme from austria
hes level like 2
you get bold attack in your officer corps and he gets to level 10 attack in like 2 level ups max
unless youre unlucky it might be 3
if you rush Anschluss you can even grind Bohme in Spain
Tbf you should always rush Anschluss
grinding forest in Spain is so cancer
but even without terrain traits itll win against ai
sonits fine
just dont use like manstein hes the worst
Thereâs like 2 forests in the entire country
theres quite a lot in the northwest
And for some reason the ai loves pushes them
Yeah but u own that
I mean like republican owns like 2 groups of forest tiles
lol đ
Why ?
high level, has alot of traits
hard to grind
you want low level with low traits so they level faster
think Gunther Von Kluge is good, idk havent played Germany in a while
oh ok so you can't "build" him as you want
hes also already assigned as an advisor
so you cant let him get any meaningful buffs to your army
Paulus unironically not a bad one to grind, level 1 with no traits lmao
not the worst, not the best, but certainly an option
but hes so consistent and easy so whatever
i grinded student
banger general to grind
he has commando right?
hes quite bad but commando yeah
And same for marechal ?
yea commando god tier
yea you grind Marshall with no traits ideally
though maybe one with brilliant strategist or inflexible strategist
brilliant strategist
you should grind those
everyone else sucks
Curious, for the eastern front (USSR) what is a decent breakthrough stat for a tank division as Germany to effectively break into the USSR?
unless they have like commando thats redeemable
for learning good generals, play finland
they all start pretty good
you just have to find the correct ones
its honestly a shame how general grind works, for optimal play you'd never see Zhukov, Rommel, Manstein, or Konev taking the field because custom-built ones are far superior
I always take those ^^
better than nothing, dont get me wrong
its just a little sad that you dont really see them if you play your best though
its realistic for japan anyway
their good generals start at like level 3
they just have 1 bad brilliant strat
Yes, i'm sure i could have won with them. It's just another thing i'm not doing very well. And with the amount of such thinks, i loose the war each time. Which is quite historically accurate though
try finland if youre interested in seeing how traits affect your army performance, play japan for infantry-air gameplay, play germany for tank-air gameplay, play uk for air gameplay
play france for pure tank gameplay
play ussr for inf-tank
But you babysitt only your "pushing" generals or each ?
play italy for making a lot of inf and defending
40 on the design more than enough, you'd get 500ish on template and that's overkill for ai generally
why babysit all when most wont matter
Just to know. I think i can try to babysitt one ore two
starting with basic heavy with howitzer is criminal
- 25% planning
mindless fun howitzer tanks in sp
you can do self propelled artillery now
2 width
:D
actually they will because the british ai wont give you air or inf
evil
Got cheaper designs? Like so its easier to produce them?
breakthrough doesnt deal damage btw
should be ez to get 40 break and 70 soft on med spgs now
honestly overkill for ai
is this part of the new update or a setting?
Oh? What does it actually do?
it defends you from defensive attacks
just like defense does from offensive attacks
Alright, so on a tank division focus on soft attack and hard attack?
breakthrough is still useful
its a pretty essential stat for attacking
but dont sacrifice your attacks for it
is medium tanks glitched? why it gives no stats increase in the second column?
reload the designer
or you dont have a medium tank designed
so it doesnt have stats because you have no tank
But you did remilitarisation
no?
you mean the rhineland?
like you have to do certain things to play the game
i didnt manually justify or "cheat" like that
just following the focus tree + stupidly restricting the army size and equipment
(including navy)
Ya, but It was a joke
Nah man it's all alright
Tho, Can you send the template of your infantry?
these are infantry divisions i designed if thats the question
What do i have to do to avoid this. Build infrastructure and railways ?
Say you have a small front of 10 tiles and 10 divisions. Make your holding infantry of 6-18 width hold 7 of those tiles in one army. You then use your three pushing 35w divisions on the other three tiles with another army. Its a simplistic case and obviously more troops are better, but you get the point.
i have the subscription on steam for all of the dlc. is there anyway i can see what dlc i own without the subscription?
Iâm confused, am I properly selecting my grand doctrine?
I don't think there is actually, I was in the same boat. Just save your pennies and wait for your subscription to end before checking
how to choose between light, medium, and heavy tanks?
Yeah mine ends on the 29th I will look then đ
The annoying this is you obviously want everything but its costly. So you either invest all or just the subscription cost I feel
Do you have DLC No Step Back?
yeah
First you research it
Then you go here and choose what you need
I hope that helps
it should be at the bottom to pay 100xp but your screen is cutting it off, try pulling the menu up
also what the helly is that flag
Not in context but i think i have the same laptop as you
The confirm button is outside the screen
Try changing your resolution and otherwise report that as a bug on the forums
New Fengtian Clique
is the battle royale achivement bugged?
Did you went down the right focus path
It worked first try for me
wait
what focus path do you have to do?
Ah alright
Okie dokie
New Fengtian Clique, you form it from the Northeastern Army
The MSI Katana 15 B13V is built to deliver strong gaming performance without breaking the bank. With its 13th-gen Intel Core i7-13620H CPU paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, this laptop handles modern AAA titles and competitive games fluidly at Full HD. The 15.6âł IPS-level display with a 144...
Yeah
Nice
Must be your settings, I thought maybe you had some tiny res
Iâll look into it later
Probably UI scale, no?
I recall increasing it some time ago so maybe that
what focus path do i go?
Best guide of navy for beginners?
Is there a way to use the console in multiplayer?
No you would have to quit, load the save in singleplayer, use the console for what you want and then load back up
Alternatively install a mod that allows a type of console
When i've finished one, can i take a second one (and keep the bonuses ofc) ?
No if you swap the sub doctrine you lose those bonuses, however you retain 200 mastery at max
So your new subdoctrine will be at 200/500
Do you maybe know one? đ
This is what me and my mate use
Little awkward to get used to but for transferring territory and stuff it will work
I mostly need the console for national focuses for bypassing requirements and such
Will this work?
What's the new recommended Task Force composition for the new naval missons? Would submarines -> patrol, heavy ships -> strike force with destroyer support for both be optimal?
I dont think it will for national focuses sadly, you will just need to when your both ready boot it in singleplayer after taking a save
Submarines provide little dominance so if your trying to secure the sea zone they wouldnt be good for patrol, I would recommend a small but FAST patrol force of destroyers and light cruisers with a main fleet on strike force
Use submarines to raid as it reduces enemy dominance
Strike force works by multiplying the patrol forces dominance, so subs that provide very little dominance cant work as well on patrol
Ah I see, so what if I am a small country like the Netherlands? Which should I focus on, producing submarines to raid or coastal defense ships?
(I am trying to hold out against the Germans, and I am worried if I don't protect my coasts, they will just naval invade me)
Ok thanks for your help đ
I do hope with the new dominance mechanics, they won't be able to jump on one second where the seas turn red and they launch their invasion
You dont have the resources to produce a huge navy, I would recommend doing destroyers, Light cruisers and a couple of heavy cruisers to just secure the zones
Then use the new feature to tell the fleet to immediately bug out if a battleship is spotted
Destroyers/Light cruisers can patrol and then a strike force of the same with a couple of heavy cruisers to give a bit more punch
You could also make escort carriers now since they are cheap
To provide a small amount of air cover
I see, thank you! đ€
Generally speaking you wannt have that then produce some submarines
Cheap and the raiding mission lowers german dominance
- If they launch a naval theres a chance the raiding subs will catch their convoys and massively destrength the invasion force
Your not really gonna be able to produce a capital ship fleet is why I modded the netherlands massively lol
Hopefully there's a new rework for the major naval nations and countries like Netherlands, now that the naval mechanics have changed
I hope so to but this DLC doesnt fill me with confidence
The AI SUCKS at making good naval templates, so if you can make really high quality screens and a few high quality heavy cruisers and just play smart you should be able to whittle down the Kriegsmarine
Beat them with quality and bug out when something big arrives
Unless you catch a battleship on its own in which case torp it lol
Thats the outdated one
Good call thanks
Why dont I see the new Japanese focus tree, i have bougth the New dlc and dont have any mods turned on, i can also see the new chinese and philippinese trees. I also noticed both Chinas have a focus that grants them wargoals on ALL nations...
Do you have a mod that changes the Japanese tree?
I dont have any mods turned on
Can someone explain why this navy cant find a region? They are in a dock in malaysia.
I see a notification saying Outdated Equipment in Production.
do i need to need to remove them or what to do with that?
Its not them that gives you the notification. It is a equipment whit brown background to the left
when i hover over basic Destroyer i see outdated marked
You see the diffrence?
The bottom one is outdated. You may have other ships that are outdated
In any case, when it comes to ships. outdated or not is not SUPER-important early
shall i ignore this
Their home base is set in stettin
You need to set it to malaysia
Thanks... Shit I knew that
i had done it to my other fleets. Just missed the damn auto-button on this one
If that cruiser is meant to be a modern one sometimes HOI4 just decomissions templates for no reason. Find the template in the outdated section and hit the little circle near the icon to recomission it
Also pls group up your navy, put it on never repair always engage
I hate that when I make a battlecruiser the game goes "Ah that superheavy battleship is outdated now"
Is line artillery still BAD?
Wouldnt say so much cheaper now
I got success out of it but then again I play singleplayer so
Moore then i knew, just toessed it in as a visual example of the background
I'm playing singleplayer.
Yes
It's just slightly better now
Still not worth using
Can infantry with support artillery still push?
I like to play as Peru.
18 width?
Take large unit Tactics
Gotcha, 16w.
I would use tanks but they get massive debuffs in non-plains.
Thats what flame tanks, armored engineers and rangers are for
And South America has a ton of jungles and mountains and all that.
Yep, that's what I typically do.
Can i remove a marechal trait given by mistake ?
Light tanks in general are pretty bad when not used as recon
Nope
Be more careful next time
I wish they weren't rip.
Kek
guys is this template good?
Nah
Take out arty, remove 1 inf add more support
Take large inf tactics
allies are being useless
Naturally
it just seems to give random countries influence for no reason
what supp should i add
If you have, rangers, flame tanks, aa/logi
Some poor guy on the UK got his leadership usurped because he made a joint facility and oman just flooded it with their scientists
Which gave them a ridiculous amount of influence for no reason
Like japan has literally inflicted 2 million casulties on the US, and the US 1 million in return
what is happening
the whole influence system is stupid
great, let the most crucial theatres be run by 3rd world countries who don't even have commanders
why even let the AI take part if it can't do it properly
what do i do at this point
trying my best to build more AA since they're bombing my logi to dust
I'm completely lost with the ship management UI, especially since this last patch. I don't have any DLCs, is there any up to date guide someone can recommend?
hey, new player here. I tried following the how to play video, but 1 task force didn't merge with the others. I rewatched the video many times and I feel like I tried everything, but it won't merge. I'm trying to separate all my subs from my surface vessels. Can anyone help me please?
you are trying to put it all into a reserve fleet by the looks of it. if you right click on the piccture of the subs in that list it will select them all, then left click on the bottom of the screen, the middle panel to make a fleet
pretty sure you can only merge it when they're out of reserve
Where are the taskforces located?
You can merge while in reserve?
It'll just not create a fleet
It might just take a while for them to group up since they have to move first
Bro hasn't unpaused yet
They have to move to merge. It doesn't happen instantly
Unpause and they will start to move
ok that did it but only for the 4 subs in the task force. how do I put all the subs together?
oh is that it?
ur gonna be fine with it in sp tho so doesnt matter
Yes.
<@&846894118219022336>
Yeah I reported that guy already, Hoi4 mods were QUICK on him which was class
whatd he say
Scam
is this better than normal engineer?
Not necessarily
For attacking yes
But also expensive
For defense, not so much
im the german empire can i use it on tank div?
Sure
Generally those are better for armoured divisions since you mainly want them to be on the offensive. but as CreepAge says there they are more expensive
for all intensive purposes the company you unlock for researching armoured support vehicles in the land warfare facility is better than any of the other engineering ones
If you can afford them*
Standard engineers are cheaper though significantly so
Armored engi is better than normal engi but expensive as fk
I would say if you can't afford a armoured support company then you can't really afford tank divisions
That too
Nah you can throw out really cheap light tanks as a minor since your initial neighbours cant deal with them as much
in the artillery doctrine what should i use
But like even for inf, when not doing line tanks
But generally yeah if your making a proper armoured div you can afford assault engineers
It's still expensive to have it in all your inf
You need like 50 mils on these shits
you shouldn't be putting armoured engineers in a infantry division
.
Why not?
It's good
Tanks are expensive
Moar stats
the one that works for your playstyle
if you read each description its pretty clear what each use case is for
can someone help me with turkey. I dominate greece but get absolutely dogged on when invading yugoslavia and saudi arabai
arabia
If u carpet nuke the enemy u can have lots of stats
The flavor text does fk all đ
figured out why the allies arent helping me while im dying as china
Doesn't matter, its mostly useless
they went to war with the soviets
Why am i not getting air superiority i have all of my planes on the region and on air superiority Nothing
and im fighting austria
its just gray
Assign mission
is ts ggood?
How
Remove the arty, add mech and field hospitals, replace recon with armored recon
click one of these
I set it to air superiority
Ok are they in the air zone
Yes
Show screen
Cant
Why not
Bruh
for fighting AI it will do, but you should repolace the artillery with the motorised arty, its slowing your whole division
Bad advice. Arty sucks. That singular piece of arty does nothing g
srry but what is the utility if the field hospital
Better to remove it entirely
Increase hp
Hp is important because it makes you take less damage
Why does my available civil factories go to 0 when i go into war?
Are u playing germany
Yes
Watch your economy of conquest national spirit
yea i only play singleplayer i cant even defeat ussr with german in multiplayer my brain would explode
You should've gotten an event too
maybe he wants to play hearts of iron, and not excel spreadsheet simulator?
if he wants some arty for a thematic feel I am just saying it should be motorised becuse the division moves at the speed of the slowest unit
ty
Wdym
this is like ww2 deluxe ultra edition
If he's asking for advice I won't give him advice that's flat out wrong. That's not what we're doing here
You have a national spirits that increases your consumer goods every month
You need to manage that
How do i manage that
15m loss
I have to do that every month?
No you just have to lower your cg as much as possible
When you do it is up to you
But keeping it low is usually a good thing
in what way is it wrong? artillery got nerfed it hasn't ceased to function, most thematic players will have some artillery in their divisions
fr
Artillery is shit. Simple as that. If he wanted to larp, he wouldn't be asking for advice. Also why are you talking for this person now? I don't think he wanted you to do that. He even thanked me on my advice.
also the allies went to war with the soviets mid-ww2
so im holding on for dear life trying to not die
Or he would've told me that he wanted to larp. I won't discourage it, I just want people to know there's a better way of doing things.
Should I declare war on Finland as soviets without nation focus?
Would that make any difference?
The focus is shorter
So u save time by doing it
U need baltics anyway
What if I go for permanent revolution and expand the nkvd
Can I declare war without making any difference from going for the national focus?
i need help i can beat usa uk france ussr so easily as germany but i cent win vs poland any suggestions
Less tension through the focus too probably
Kind of a roundabout no
But sure
When do British and France stop guaranteeing the independence of other countries
When it gets too expensive
So spam a bunch of useless justifications on SA
I heard that they stop guaranteeing when France is invaded
That's not how that works
Do they stop guaranteeing when in war with other major countries?
Or just depends on pp and wt
How do i cut down on coal expenditure? I'm giga late game and i've drained every drop of coal i can get my hands on but its not enough. I've tried to take factories off of production but it doesn't seem to do anything
go down to civ eco
coal consumption is exponential also
so consider deleteing dockyards
and civs
oh so u have to outright delete the factories
I suppose you upgraded infrastructure in coal areas already.
And researched excavation tech.
my conquests r probably taking so many its overloading the economy
its 1959
ive maxxed out tech
omg yes civilian eco saved me
hello guys, do you have any template for defense division and make the ennemy progression verry difficult ?
(thank you)
guys how do i get achievement paradisus paradoxum as japan?
i use this just to defense
man im so late game the AI planes r actually beating mine xD gonna need to actually design stuff
guys did the naval meta change with the new dlc?
yes, spam carriers
i mean the old cruiser desin are now useful?
I was looking for a static fortress division like
to hold strategic places
and only for that purpose
i use this inf only for holding the front and then i push with mech inf or tanks
They always were
how do you whitepeace with command?
jsyk cav recon is basically useless
how to navy
swap that garrison law to local autonomy (democracy), liberated workers (communist) or, if you can't any of these : civilian oversight (if compliance is above 20% or if resistance is at 0-5%) or local police force (any other situation if you don't want to micro the harsh quotas)
check pins
Hello, was there a change with the naval range system? as japan i conquered philipines, malay, french indo china. But my naval range is still stillplayed from the home islands. I can move the navy manually to bismarck sea but if i assign "naval patrol" it say "no accessible region". Someone got an idea?
Have to move you naval base itâs stationed out of
CTRL + Rclick on a naval base
you range starts on the port you use as base now
question i was doing border wars and got a thing that was that they withdrew from the battle will i just not be able to expand then???
Guys with the New naval update when I play as Germany i can't now naval invade uk because when I created my fleat before the update it was sheap but useful with the old mechanics now I can't what can I do in the start because I gave up in that run
thanks, that solved my problem
whats the difference between normal war and border war?
border war = one battle, the one that wins the battle gains ownership of the region it was fought in
no war is declared
I have this bug in the new update when clicking the air map mode
please use field marshal frontlines đ
why is it all under one general too?
Itâs normal
Sadly
What's the fix?
Close the run and reopen
Coz i gave up
The only fix seems to relaunching the game, reloading the save while in game doesn't fix it
support ships, doctrine, underway replenishment, focuses, and naval supply hubs (I think) are the ones I can say off the top of my head.
Alright
It used to work like this, damn đ
but seriously, how do NSH's work?
So I Just put suport ships at my taskforces?
yes.
note my fleets arent fully build up yet.
Ok
which subdoctrine is best for spamming subs
none of the submarine doctrines decrease production cost of subs, so if you ask me any of them are equal at quantity, so its up to you what you prefer in what to specialise.
if im usa and i missed the window of "inforce the monroe doctrine" for mexico is there another way to take it? (by it i mean mexico)
For fighters, what is the difference between air superirity and interception orders ?
is mountaineers or rangers better for fighting China? If rangers, whats a good combat width for them?
is the new naval system a dlc or in the main game
I am not 100% sure so take this with a bit of salt.
air superiority tries to actively contest the skies, going after any enemy aircraft.
interception is more defensive in nature where it tries to intercept enemy missions like strat bombing, logi bombing, etc.
how can i make tank divisions strong in mountains and rivers?
game tells you as much apperantly.
engineering support and marines as far as I know.
what if i have the air superiority order and only bomber attack me. Is it the same as interception then ?
I think so, as it says "and secondarily enemy bombers and other planes".
hmm
why do I not get naval dominance here?
hi, doing the tutorial here... anything i can do with ALL these boats? i thought of sending them to train, but id end up without fuel in two days.đ
Well, just train submarine
thanks
i have dlcs on my other computer but i dont have them on this one despite being on the same steam account how do i get them on this pc?
How to coordinate strike? My CV planes don't sortie no matter what.
Restart steam and see if it detects it
doesnt work
can india do tanks?
How to coordinate strike? My CV planes don't sortie no matter what.
I am trying to do operations because navy AI won't engage, try to get some naval battle screenshot for Pearl Habor but I can't even do it.
Then contact steam support as this is a steam issue
im just dumb i figured it out

hey im playing usa
how can i get a core on cuba?
what did you do?
they were old dlcs that got added to the base game and i didnt realize
UHHH HOW DID HE APPEAR IN MY PUPPET????
somehow Chang Kai-Shek has returned.
Canon event
so i take it this meens i have to do the focus and use the decesions?
i cant just puppet in a peace deal?????
where is my strike?
Do you have a strike force there as well? Also try deleting the order to operate in there and do it again
so ive been fighting japan on the backfoot for 10 years now
I do not, patrol on its own is enough.
And removing the order has worked.
and at this point as china in 1947 ive lost most of the coast but still have wuhan and a good north/central defensive line, but the south is about to collapse, and since the allies haven't done shit the whole war to beat japan and instead going to fight the soviets, the japanese have control of all the important colonies. so now the AI is making a shitload of planes and elite units that i cannot counter at all
what do i do
To get rid of the MEFO, i need Totaler Krieg, right ?
I expected it to, it works for me when I do that usually stops working after a naval invasion
You can cancel them with a decision
cant you also go for the left economic route? the one where you dont rely on conquest?
which one of these is better?
4yp is better and you dont have to rely on conquest
Show the buffs they give
i went for MEFO this time to try. But i'm stuck with 0 civ now đ
Here give me a sec I got sum that'll help
Airspace dominance
mind if I ask why that is?
can i make a comeback of any sort here
Gives better stats for having air superiority
which stats are that?
Hey guys, I just lost my first war as a beginner and I want to know if you guys can help me figure out what I went wrong. Well, my Gran Colombia gameplay was going really well, I had annexed Panama and Ecuador, but when I got to Venezuela, the situation was as follows: My entire army was concentrated in one province. I declared war and won the first battle, but suddenly the enemy employed a pincer movement in a matter of seconds and annexed three of my provinces They attacked so quickly that I've never seen another occupation like it; they laid siege to me and attacked from all sides. Even though they had significantly fewer divisions than I did, they managed to overcome all the battles of that semi-siege (semi-siege because I still had a small province of mine connecting the army), How the hell did he win? I haven't the slightest idea. I always let the general handle everything, I just watch, I've been told that's the right thing to do. I turned off my PC after seeing that horror show of the semi-siege and didn't finish the war because I want to know where I went wrong.
All of them
Send me a ss of the four year plan side of the germany tree
Why haven't you done seize foreign industries
Imissed one condition
Did you do anschluss?
Send a ss of what it says when you hover the mouse over it
Yes
What does it say?
The problem was the ressources at first, now it's the 90%
What does the one before it require
Cause you can probably do that in 1936
I think i've been too far in the MEFO tree too early
What year is it?
Nah you're not too far in but there's a way to get -70 consumers for 60 days then -5 till you take totalier krieg which makes it 5
You shouldn't have done price controls yet though
I used a way more sub optimal route ^^ I will have spent quite 280 days with 0 civ đ
Anyone got a good japan guide?
I'd say restart the run but do it properly when doing the 4yp, dont take price controls early and complete the 3 focuses before totalier krieg then cancel the mefo bills with a decision then do price controls
so my guys are all stuck in Japan and not moving back to my territory in europe. Playing as Byzantium and have military access via russia
if i delete them it says my encircled units will lose all equipment and 80% manpower
wait, just realized I had no ports in that area
do the price control focus and decision
pillage gold from countries you cap
I don't know why i hadn't gold from Poland, but i use the one from baltic states yes
"dont use the four year plan unless your good at the game" -some guy on youtube
Yes. The other option was way simplier i think
Eh unless you just do it till you cant its really not that good
If ur doing historical do the 4yp if not then do peg
not true
four year plan is so much strictly better in this update
and it was already easier to play
Its in quotes
if you want to have a worse economy and worse army
đđ
But you need to do it in the right order i think, what i haven't do
no?
you go MEFO
you make mil
you do price control at some point
spam decisions
1938 hits, you make some refineries for rubber
then 1939 and onwards you go back to mil
i dont see how thats difficult
well even with decisions (not a lot), i was stuck some month at 0 civ, but it may be the way to do it.
yeah eventually in like 1942
when you shouldve already won the game
and thats only construction anyway
your production (factory output) is completely fine
i'm in 40, but as i've said mainly time, i'm not good ^^
Easy fix, just get better đ
Each try is a better try. Still not good, but better đ
Should try the new battle royal achievement as communist China
why is my focus tree looks different even if I dont have any DLC?
as which nation
germany
all youtubers that uses vanila have different focus tree
I unselected all the DLC and still different focus tree
The historical path is different?
For historical. Itâs either an old video youâre watching or theyâre using a mod
If you don't own götterdÀmmerung your alt historical path is different
Default German historical tree now is the one from the dlc last year
is there any mod/DLC that adds puppets like "General government" and all thag
germany can make the reichskommisariats
no DLC right
pretty sure yes
Whats the meta for Space Marines now? Doctrines etc. I use them for achievements
ok
The left one is the tree from the video?
