i didnt create my country leaders like that so idk
i just have them recruited in there, and then defined in the common/characters file, and then can promote them with country leader later, but you can do country leader role in that file too
so this is like everything that siam has for the starting leader
history file just recruits them, then the leader portrait is defined, then in characters they are assigned the image and role as country leader

In theory you just make
Mod file-history-states-the file of the state you want copied from the original state folder. Just change the tag of "owner" and now that country owns it.
I think the errors are just from confused gamr, they sometimes disappear if i rewrite the entire bad section, or if i press "control s"
Remember to make a folder for tags were you add the tags for your new country

this is the error i get from the game, someone explained it didnt shwo the rightone due to some issue with outlook.

For example:

step 1: make te mod
step 2: make folders: "modfolder"-history-states.
step 3: find the original state file in the game directory.
step 4: copy the wanted state file and put it in your states folder

You can't write code in Notepad, the game can't read basic text files, only UTF ones...
UTF-8 is generally the format needed
Also for VP's, it says "Victory_point(s)" but you can only have one per argument

You could make multiple countries get an event, and have the event give the idea
It anyway makes more sense for the countries to get an event of the idea so anyone playing them knows what is happening

Hello guys, how long does it take to create a huge mod? I really want to play as the Roman Empire during its golden age (with every other civilisation included in the game). But I haven’t found any mod that lets me play as the Roman Empire properly — I don’t like it when the Roman Empire is just thrown into the middle of WWII. So, I’m thinking of creating a mod myself. Still, I’m really worried that I might stop halfway through or not even manage to start it at all.

A "replace_path =" basically changes the direction of a file for the game to find, for example
"Replace_path = common/countries" means that the game won't use the common/countries folder of the game, and use mine instead. Usually its used for total conversion mods

Like, if I wanted to recreate the calendar from the board game Quar (image related) how hard would that be, if even possible?
I think it is possible, the game has a variable num_days which you can use to calculate your own calendar. The amount of days passed since the start of year 0. The value on the 1st of January 1936 is 706640. And you need to change all guis, events, etc to show your customized dates, which might be a lot of work.
So, it is possible but it seems to be quite the undertaking. Thanks.

hi everyone! I am trying to make an Expansed Resources submod for The Great War Redux.
I have created a new mod and pasted the 'history/states' folders, modifying the resources in the txt for each state. However, it doesn't work, no matter where I put it in the launcher. The resources that it loads are the default ones.
I have tried to include in the descriptor.mod replace_path="history/states", but it doesn't work either. Is there anything else I should do, fundamentally, besides creating the mod and modifying the specific files?

Can I give any country a certain focus tree in a save file
e.g. I've made a chinese warlord have a civil war and then peaced them out with said civil war. Now the new country has the base focus tree instead of a warlord focus tree
Can I give them a war lord focus tree
the warlord focus tree I believe is shared
so you're gona have to add that to the new nation that has peaced out
but you'll prob have to change the new nation's tag as it probably holds a temporary tag like D04, D08
However, I may be wrong, but during the German civil war, I believe that the fascist side get the normal historical focus tree and not a generic one
so you could take a look at that, and use it as a reference

IF they added theirs to overwrite the default one (by adding their custom nation tag to this)
mine are all just .mod files which can't be opened
if they just make a new cosmetic tag or modify an existing nation they might not have this

Update: pp got to -200 but getting better, stability got down to -98% but getting better, uprisings everywhere even in Ukraine, Georgia broke free, belgium broke free but I "peacefully" made it my puppet again
