Drawing the terrain.bmp map for my overhaul mod, I've got the coastline on this continent so far mostly finished, not much of the islands are done yet, and I've added a bit of terrain as well.

how it works is that there's a line that sets the country factor
like if you are dutch you get 10 score in the mtth block
the score is checked before game start
then whichever tree with highest score is assigned
default tree always have 1 point so it's assigned to mongolia(since it doesn't have any other point for other trees)

The idea of the mod is to colonize a new fictional continent untouched by human hands for your nation/faction. You may be thinking "How in the world does that work in hoi4? This isn't eu4!"? Let me tell you (with with visual below as aid).
The Setup:
Land mass shapes and sizes are not reflective of the final product and are only for demonstration purposes
There will be 5 nations at the start 4 player nations (or as many/few as you would want) plus the nation of "Unclaimed Land". The players will start with one province next to another province that is a VP of "Unclaimed Land". Once all players take their vp, "Unclaimed Land" will capitulate causing a peace conference. From here, players will divvy up the "unclaimed land". After the peace conference, all the land they claimed will become cored to them. Btw since this land is "untouched by human hands" there is no (recruitible) manpower in this land until you develop it.
What would make this mod pretty cool:
Through your focuses and decisions, you need to maintain homeland support for colonization, develop the land to exploit the natural riches (your home country will only invest so much), defend against foreign military threats, and push everyone out of your land. You win the game if your faction/nation is the only side left on the continent. Anything I'm missing? Would you play this mod with friends if it was completed to a high degree of quality?
It's an idea that seems interesting to me, but I don't really want to spend a boatload of hours developing it if no one will want to play it, especially since the idea is so out there gameplay wise in terms of ideas.

You can also add systems like Dynamic vp's (Victory points based on state development) and naming states
The EOE mod does that where the more factories, airbases, etc a state has, the higher the main VP in it is worth
And there's already a mod to manually rename states ingame that you own

That's definitely interesting. That would help with supply issues as all requested non-state supply needs to come from the capital (AKA tons of convoys).
You have the state borders as the JC3 provinces - I made JC3 provinces HOI4 provinces and most are also states
As for small hoi4 provinces just make VPs where they are in JC3 and make random provinces around them, there are no rivers in Medici

You need to define it via a GFX file in the Interface
The thing I'm not too familiar with is Focus shines
But for general icons it's something like this
The name, which you use in the focus's picture/icon code
The texturefile, which you put the path/file of the image you want to use for
For goal shines you'll have to ask someone else tho, I'm not familiar with those :(

Dynamic modifiers require more work to implement than ideas
Dynamic modifiers are essentially a series of custom variables, each with their respective effect/modifier
Dynamic Modifiers don't start with set values, you must set them manually, usually in a country's history file
In an actual focus tree, to modify a dynamic variable, you simply add or subtract from the variable you want to edit
BUT
These changes won't appear in the tooltip
Why? Because Dynamic modifiers do NOT have implemented tooltips
You must add them manually, as seen below
If you coded it properly, it should look like this, and then you're done :D

The negative space is just a graphical glitch from my understanding. It dosent really do much. Most of the big mods I have all show negative and work fine
so why is it not loading when I try to run the Main mod by itself? it loads regular Hoi4 when I try to load it with only OWB. It just crashes when loading everything else because I got mostly OWB Expansions in this Playlist.
I just said when I try loading it without OWB Expansion, it just loads Vanilla Hoi4.
That's how I know the OWB Main is likely the problem

Look Into the error Log and Look for MAP_Error If you edited the map and add -crash_data_log in the Same way in Hoi4 Launcher Options as with debug. Then you can See in Crash files what File caused tha game to crash

either you create more ideas, that are similar to the other one, but change only what you need. or you have to create somethin based of Soviet five year plan (which is in modifiers i think) or german economic tree (which is in history files), which is not a national spirit, but its a modifier, that gets defined by its national spirit in ideas file, but dont know more about it
