I'm having a problem like this, when the ideology of the country changes while applying cosmetic tag, it works momentarily and then returns to the country's normal flag, name and color.

I don't know if you solved it, but if you don't specify min max value with clamp variable everywhere you use add to variable, it can exceed 100%

There's not much point in clamp in the startup anyway. Yes, you need to clamp where add_to_variable is. Clamp prevents it from going out of the values you set, but this is not something that you can do once and then it is always valid, so you need to put it everywhere you change the variable. Also, for your 220% problem, if you want it to increase by 5 per week, you can try making the value 0.05 instead of 0.1, maybe it will work.

I didnt realize on weekly ran for every individual country in the game so it was running 44 times, i just added a if statement to only run for the country i wanted

in the localization you can use § to assign colors, you can get this thing by pressing ALT + 2 + 1
it uses the first letter of the color to assign it
i made a scripted localization thing tho so the colors will change based on the percentage

if your have an issue with uploading your mod due to a bug of some sorts you can try creating another mod file and moving all your files there

how do you update state IDs to newer versions with more states? Specifically from 1.13 to 1.14.
I tried to just change the ID of my new states from 935 and 936 to 970 and 971 but that for some reason bugged out some states in peru and argentina to not have any buildings assigned, causing the game to not work.

This is the current focus tree of my Africa Trees mod. i dont have any other nations in development as of now so this is tanzania as of march 28th 2024
I quit for a few weeks cause i got bored
you can use replace_path = "history/states" to avoid incompatibility
Enter the launcher, go to installed mods and click on the 3 dots and you can access the files
I recommend adding more focuses and it's good to add some references to Tanzania
Or just go to documents/paradox/hoi4/mod

Hoi4 is very picky so if theres any stray missing character or something is slightly wrong in the descriptor it wont show up

The 1.14 update broke most map graphic mods (mods like fps map), so you'll have to remove those. Hope you enjoy the mod though 🙂
targeted modifiers are modifiers, so they have to be added to an idea or something rather than just triggered as a focus effect

The decisions tab in the screenshot was unrelated, sorry. I did not click any decisions, the cosmetic tag kept changing automatically. I think it may have been some odd bug, haven't been able to reproduce it since.

The number is basically load order, so use 01 if you are looking to overwrite something in a 00. The name I believe doesn't matter.
The game reads the inside of the file and the path of the file to see what the data is about, not the file name
hm although i still don't understand how is the surrender limit so high in that mod if it doesn't have it changed in defines
it's a very old mod as it only works with 1.10.8

Mob b should overwrite Mod a for conflicting files.
But it's not, not matter what Mod a is loading it's files in-game instead of Mod b.
You can add a dependency line in the descriptor file of a mod
Is that the only way? For CK3 and Stellaris I can move the mods around in the Launcher, and the game will respect the load order. Just HOI4 seems to ignore it. For large amounts of mods this is the only real way to do this effciently. Like you would in CK3, Stellaris, any of the Total War games, Bethesda games, or really any other game that is modable out there. Load order is a critical modding function. So weird it is broken in such a heavilyh modded game like HOI4.

Rhineland would be the focus that starts all political branches. There would be a way to guarantee a French reaction and that is where all the alt history comes from

can somebody help me, I am trying to make a mod, but when I launch the game with the mod it won't show the changes, I can only make them show when I take some mod from the workshop and change the files of the workshop mod to files of my mod and launch that, it won't work when i take the W mod and put it in my mod files too, but my mod works completely fine for my friend

but when I go to properties of the game and change to the right version
it automatically updates to newer version
If you select the right beta it'll download that old update

Well after having the permission and extract to the models, go to gfx/entities there should be 2 type of file .gfx and .asset. Go to any random asset file

Make sure the transports do not have any orders. Move the paratroopers to the air base where the transports are station and make individual orders

france had around 300k
prussia 100-200k
russia 300k
france did mboilize 600k in 1812 against russia

Major country already exists as a category, but for the others you'd have to make your own metrics and system for switching nations between categories
