anyway i think i have a good idea for the allied occupation zones in russia during the russian civil war
so the allies will have military access to the occupied region, the country will be an integrated puppet of the whites
and the allies will have a decision where if they station a division in the occupied territory, it will join the country (if this is possible in the first place, i dont know)
cuz the soviets will have decisions to start border conflicts with the occupation zone, and if they win a certain number of them then they annex the occupation zone

if you modify things like new national focuses and technology trees, how difficult is it to mod the ai to play with these new things?

In this example, the AI will try to take TAG_focus_name_1 first if possible. If it's already taken or TAG_focus_name_1 is impossible to take, then AI will try to take TAG_focus_name_2. If both of the focuses are impossible to take due to being completed or unavailable, then it will move on to other focuses, taking ai_will_do = { ... } into consideration. While following a focus order, it ignores ai_will_do = { ... } values.
you should mostly code the ai_will_do's in the technologies themselves
but you can prioritize categories if they are extra important to the country
what value does the ai place when choosing technologies?
IIRC AI choses randomly if all factors are the same and never goes ahead of time

@obtuse condor Don't use the Hoi4modding website. It's scuffed, weird and overall just bad from what I've heard.
You're better off using VS Code as text editor and using the HOI4 Mod Utilities addon. It let's you preview focus trees like this:

Why are my unit images white when they have a transparent background. Also i have them so that they are meant to show only 1 of the images (normal and nato) but for my custom ones they show both so they are extremly crowed and they do not fit into any of the boxes. Any idea why?

I recommend you reading the wiki and not blindly guessing how modding works
Finding triggers on the effects wiki isn't that easy smh

in my opinion,
- don't make all focuses last 75 days, especially if they're grouped up and sometimes it can take really long for one thing
- don't make very bland names, you can keep alot of them sticking to the ideology or theme of your country
- remember you can use prerequisites and OR prerequisites (one or the other)
- i also suggest maybe making seperate focus branches based on the type, a bit like germany's how they have a bit for eco, air, army and expansion
- not all focuses can be about the player, you can add bonnuses or improving relationships with other countries, adding factories between the two or creating factions
- make the progression stable, not too slow, not too fast. make it enjoyable at any time in the game, and a viable country at any time in the game
- If your country is a real country, and has a language, try using that country's language in the name of the focuses OR use real names for companies, places etc etc

Making a mod, added my own country. The colors of many countries (I putted only the color of the new country, but it also doesn't appear) are different and the flag of the country doesn't appear
i feel like a good idea would be like a focus that jut does a negative, but will later progress into something good
a bit like imperial nostalgia's "austerity programs" which gets rid of pp, but later on lets the player progress
- aka, not everything being good or giving awards like something can give an event (basically everything in TNO)
for the colors, you didnt close a bracket properly somewhere, and for the flag, if you're using paint.net, you have to save in 32 bit and check off "compress"

I ended up trying to make a mod that split germany up into about 5 different countries for some sort of alt history thing, as of now, there is no germany, despite having all of the states in the history folder done, and all of the localization done, I came here after watching multiple tutorials, and trying to fix it myself. I'm unsure if I'm not supposed to add each state as it's own file, but that is what I did, as pictured above. All of the localization is done correctly, to my knowledge, but the colors are way off, as pictured above, is this all because of something I did wrong in the colors file? Any and all help would be appreciated because I'm clearly clueless.
I am also unsure about this, if anyone would like to explain this, it may be the reason for the colors showing as they are

In error log I get "MAP_ERROR: Palette in rivers.bmp is probably not correct" but I don't think this is true, I can launch the game fine from the version I'm editing and load the map, and the wiki says you can ignore this error.

I’m making a new scenario and in the process I’m giving Germany a few Polish states. All of it worked fine, except for states that contained letter’s that weren’t in English. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Your mod starts with a descriptor files so you must have deleted it, my advice would be to create a new mod and copy the files you’ve already made over that way you get a fresh descriptor
