Regarding the event command: I can make it target another country like with

But the event still pops up for me, and I need to select an option. This is a problem when I specifically want to test how the AI reacts to the event.
Is there some way of making an event fire for the AI, and observing which option they pick?

map error is that very defnitibely subtle message dat pops in ur game when ur map folder has something wrong in it, like duped states or missing provinces and all of dat

strangely, i think this is just debug behaviour and the even actually is targeting SOV or AUS, since if i use ROOT to localise the event target’s name I see ‘Russia’ or ‘Austria’

one good way to find out: find the localised text for ‘Can justify’ or whatever it is, search the scriptbase for that line’s loc key. you might find what’s using it

I think what usually needs to happen for this type of thing is you copy the files of the relevant states to your mod's history/states/ directory, then just make adjustments to those files. In this case changing owner = BRA to owner = ABC

Anyway it won't be so bad. You can use the debug tooltip to view state IDs pretty easily, and ctrl + P in Sublime to open the files quite fast. Select the ones you need, copy them over, and make the edits.

ur game says ur whole focus is an unexpected token, dat means dat shoudnt be there, so dat means ur brakets are wrong and so game is reading ur focus somewere else, like inside the previous focus

I want to do a modern day mod that starts in 2022. For now it’s complexity will be similar to most older mods where it’s essentially just vanilla reskinned with new nations and focus trees and such.
For now there isn’t much in the way of plans beyond that. I might make a 2024 American civil war as that might be interesting.
Also might explore various other conflicts that might happen in the near future or are happening right now.

i had a mod working on 1.11 thats broken now. i added a new missile type that was a "strat bomber missile". same as a guided missile but it could deploy nukes. it dosent work anymore as ive said, so does anyone know a way to either remove or change the strat bomber nuke prerequisite or how to make it work again?

Hey guys, I just started modding in HOI4 and could use some help since I am having errors when trying to launch Singleplayer.
I just created a custom map. Placed in a country. No matter what I do, the map will not load in-game.
All Invalid X are removed.
Tells me "Some errors are present in the map defition and have been logged to error.log"
Error.log looks fine, everything has a strategic + supply state assigned.
Once again, all Invalid X are removed.
Haven't messed with bookmarks, says there is an error loading the map. I can see the map in nudge, I can also see my nation which is visible.
I just can't click, (open singleplayer - new game - start) immediate crash if anyone could help with this.
Scope of all states, check for being one of those IDs, if so add to the list

Character is broken, i would assume it is MED_luis_von_hotin that is

Check that there is a space under the recruitment in the History file
Is he recruited in the History file?
Does putting another Character under him in the Character file make him work?
It would make more sense that it were "non-aligned"

Normally you would create a character folder in the common folder and add a character file there and then recruit him in the History file
Meaning he exists on game start
Then promote him later if wanted
I just looked back at a file in which there was also a character being created after game start and I saw that I didn't create it in the same way
Still creating characters after game start is ill advised, better to have em ready on game start and promote/ add roles
Mayhaps, I'll just see what happens later in mod development
