Like im playing germany, beat the soviets then I declare war on finland and join the chinese united front
Then finland calls everyone into the war and I have to deal with attrition in chinese territory for the rest of my days and its annoying af

you could mess around with the in-game custom rules
and disband all factions
or remove guarantees all together
That would break the game
make it non historical
germany fighting the allies alone, japan fighting china, not the chinese united front
wouldn't even be a allies, just the UK and germany
i mean there are a few things you could fiddle with but other than those two options im not too sure if there's anything that can be done

Yeah I use draw.io to plan all my focus trees. It also allows me tp lay down general plans and certain ideas I want
Also consider how long focuses take. Consider cutting some down to 35 or even less days
This will allow you to manipulate how long it actually takes to get through it
The biggest example is the Soviet tree, which I love. It’s absolutely ginormous but because of the plentitude of 35 day focuses it doesn’t actually feel that long

ok i really need help here because i've already asked and i am yet to get an answer, the iron workshop video is outdated and I don't know what to do, I'm trying to make division templates for my benelux mod (holland, belgium, luxembourg and the rhine as one country) and I copied the BEL_1936 and 39 over to my history/units folder, it didn't do anything so I put the division names thing in common and it still won't work

i can get basically no army at the start of the game without using a mod to give myself the xp to make a template
You are 100% sure you did everything right?
- created a history>units folder
- copied bel_1936 and 1939 in there, changed bel to dut (the tag i'm using)
- (tried both not doing this and doing this) changed the bel to dut in the files using find and replace
- copied common>units into my mod, went to names_divisions and made a second bel_names_divisions and renamed it to dut_names_divisions, changed bel to dut inside of that text doc
that's what the tutorial did but nothing is working
all the tutorial did was copy the 1936 text doc into history>units and it immediately came up, i don't know what i'm doing wrong
but i can't keep working on my mod until i fix this and by the looks of things nothing useful is gonna come up
i've searched youtube and google and the only things that came up were unrelated or outdated
this is pretty much my last resort since there's nowhere else to look
i have found one thing though, the name on this doesn't match the one in the other file, could that be it?
if this isn't it i'm just gonna stop working on the mod, i can't move on to anything else until i figure this out and i've already dumped more time into this one issue than it would take to just start over

If there are 69 people who support you in the parliament, you could click a desicion, which will complete a focus.
- You click a decision
- You click on focus branch via decision (say, economy)
- You see all possible focuses to be completed
- You select it
where would that be?

Just use the wiki and base game files, and even if they're old they mostly still apply anyways
This game is one of the easiest to mod, and if you need help there's here and the dedicated modding servers (which are way better since it's not a single channel mess)

Central Slovakia is duplicated at some point. I assume this is a nudger thing. Delete the history/states folder at Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron 4. The other map errors are because you haven’t done nudger stuff. Not sure how to explain because I don’t do many changes on game start

if you've done programming before, think of the limit as the conditions that go into the if statement
this would be the same as doing if(party_popularity@ruling_party > 0.85) in a conventional language
this should work out for you
