I am pretty decent at aiming compared to my rank but am kept down in G1-P4 by my decision making, chasing kills and dying too often. when my brain decides to work i position 'ok' until i stop thinking and do things like coach gun to high ground right into a monkey/genji or peek a zenyatta that i know is there but i didnt see him for two seconds so i thought he went elsewhere and getting one shot.

I need a way to stop autopiloting and think about each action i take and why/why not it's a good idea to do that

What you need to improve

  • Take high ground more. You spent SO MUCH TIME on low ground when attacking first point which made it really easy for the doomfist to punch you and the torbjorn to hit you. If you take high ground, you are effectively untouchable unless their doomfist uses all of his cooldowns to reach you or any of their team is already high ground (they weren't).
  • Time your pressure with your team, there were a few times when you went to take high ground or a good off angle, but because your team wasn't engaging yet, it lets the doomfist engage on you for free. You can wait for your team to regroup before trying to take an off angle or contest high ground.
  • Just because you're on high ground doesn't mean you can forgo using cover entirely. There were several times where you were on high ground, got forced off by soldier poke and then had to coach gun back up immediately and then were subsequently dove. If you had a pillar, doorway, or corner, you could just hide get healed up and then repeek while saving your coach gun for actually getting dove.
  • In general, it might be a good idea to go through the maps and identify where the good high ground positions are with cover, when they are good, and where you can fall back to from those positions. That way, you don't have to actually think about those decisions during the game.

What you're doing well

  • Good dynamite usage
  • Your aim is really good

Main takeaways

Positioning

  • Take high ground
  • Remember to use cover while on high ground
  • Wait to take aggressive angles until your team engages

Ability Usage

  • Coach gun usage -- Honestly, if you have time while in queue, just make a custom game and practice coach gunning around the map, there were a lot of times you messed up reaching high ground with your coach gun which left you stuck low ground.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or want more pictures or timestamps or whatever.
