I somehow never struggled... Quest rewards were enough without sprinting and jumping too much until my crop fields were up and running so I could easily make good food. Now I enjoy getting as many hearts as I can 🙂

That said, mob griefing and fire ticks are disabled, and I use waypoints to get back to locations

I personally fudge stuff occasionally, whether that be accidentally making more of something than I needed and decrafting it (why does right click craft all?), being one item off from a large batch of something, borrowing items from future me (I don't wanna stop my current project just to make 8 circuits when I can make two stacks in just a bit), or just not wanting to wait 15 minutes for a tinkers construct part in the extruder

Play your way, as long as it still feels fulfilling then you're doing well

Automating wrought iron is certainly a choice

You can pretty much get by with just hand crafting nuggets and bulk smelting them

In LV you can get an arc furnace which basically prints wrought iron (at the cost of 3 amps of LV power...)

Also if you hate waiting for steel, there is always thaumcraft nugget duplication

It was a choice indeed, by the time I’m up to using it for what I wanna use it for advanced steam machinery, and heaps of advanced solar boilers, it’ll be ready for me to use while I go figure out rubber for now

My previous run got up to IV, but tech debt was creeping up as I didn't have ore processing, no AE2 autocrafting, and only a single EBF

Prob the biggest improvement this run was making an infernal mob farm. So much steel... And the xp is good for passive production of random things like redstone (to obsidian to electrolyze for silicon and oxygen) or gallium or anything I might be low on

Tbh steel is so easy to make in an ebf, and u should have infinite iron from titanium processing earlier, I just hand craft a few thousand each time I need it so far

What I did is I mapped out the possible runs, so about 3 lines and then I would manually dump into the desired runs.

Those were my lines

You just put them in sequence with the ability to pull out the ores OR you just have them independent and then you manually move them to the next run. So you batch run them. I found batch running worked great as automation can be tricky for pulling out the byproducts.

It’s more of a pain though as you also got to sort them out manually.

Yeah I’ve made some pretty dumb things that didn’t really go anywhere but it was still cool. Kind of like the thaum slime generator I made. Usually those are bad and you don’t want them but I found a way to spawn and farm them.

Or my new favorite tactic. Skyscraper building where I stack machines high up into the air. You need creative flight for it the be practical though

Yeah oil can be a pain. It’s pretty low maintenance though, especially when you get the drill multi. Cost is setup time and you’re up and running. You only run out if you’re not paying attention.

Yeah it really shines around CBD because you have to make that for your rocket anyway. Also HOG is 100% worth it when you get to EV and have the combustion multis

Also byproducts for your itnt production which is critical. The rocket is the first major check in the game and it will break you if you don’t have a good set up.

You can do really well with in line single blocks but once you get the Large Chemical reactor that thing is gold. Distilleries and LCRs are the shit but that’s all HV stuff. Don’t make the mistake I did and put off using multis until IV. That really bit me.

It’s always good to get a hint of what’s coming up so you can better plan out your setup
