So, you want to create custom tape items that you can play back in your GT:NH world… How do we start?

Begin by procuring these items:

Computer Case Tier 3
Screen Tier 1+
CPU Tier 1+
Graphics Card Tier 1+
Memory Tier 1+
Hard Disk Drive Tier 1+
Internet Card
Keyboard

EEPROM (Lua Bios)
OpenOS Floppy Disk
Tape Floppy Disk

Tape Drive
Cassette Tape - Greater than length of song

1: Assemble the computer as pictured in attached photos, subsitute neutronium cell for any energy provider.
2: Load the OpenOS Floppy disk and EEPROM with lua bios.
3: Type “install” and hit enter
4: Type “y” and hit enter
5: Restart the computer and load the Tape Floppy disk into the computer, replacing the OpenOS one.
6: Type “install tape” and hit enter
7: Place your cassette into the Tape Drive
8: You now have some commands to interact with the tape:
-tape play to play cassette
-tape pause to pause cassette
-tape stop to stop playing and rewind
-tape rewind to rewind
-tape wipe to clear the contents of the cassette
-tape label to rename the cassette
-tape speed to multiply the playback speed
-tape volume to adjust volume between 0 - 1.0
-tape write <url> to write the audio to the cassette

9: Load up https://remote.craftos-pc.cc/music/ and drop in your audio file
10: Copy the craftos link and type “tape write [insert your url]” (remember that middle click is paste)
11: You are now the proud owner of a custom new tape!

If your audio seems slow/downpitched, I used “tape speed 1.47” to get it to normal pitch. Obviously, because of the file format of DFPWMs, the audio quality is terrible. I have heard whispers of splitting the L/R channels and uploading 2 separate files, but I am not a wizard enough to make 2 cassettes play in unison using opencomputers!

If you are a programmer and want to make me a better mod to make custom tapes, I will kiss you on the mouth. Period. Please contact me if you are even barely interested.

Did you know that in Gregtech: New Horizons you can use Opencomputers to create custom cassette tapes, containing any audio you choose? Well, slight catch. Due to the file format being DFPWM, it sounds fried to bits.

If you want a guide on how to make these cassettes, bug me!
Thank you Birb for bringing this cool tech to my attention!
