Here is my 2nd try on the ICO :

This time, I aimed for a more realistic approach—so yes, it's significantly larger than its actual counterpart.
In real coke plants (see the reference image), a "coal car" (represented by pipe casings in my build) loads coal into the furnace chambers (represented by the modules in my build). Once the process is complete, the module unload its coke into a "coke car" (Not represented in game obviously, but could be a very nice animation to implement)

My approach for this multi-block setup avoids wall-sharing. Instead, it expands using identical, self-contained modules, just like in the real setup shown in the images.
You can see versions of the build with a minimum of 1 module and up to 8. The more modules, the more parallelization. The maximum number of modules is still open for discussion.

I also included coils so the structure can scale by energy tier—either to increase speed or to enable parallel processing or both ?
For all types of buses and hatches, there's plenty of space to place them in strategic positions—for example, placing energy hatches directly behind the coils.

See below for smaller and bigger variations

I think it is slightly large for the tier

Could start out with a small version and expand as you progress and your needs increase

i feel like this would be a good candidate for a MEGA variant perchance

I think the 3 smaller ones looked the best, I really like the way it expends
