so pigmen will get angry only when you attack one of them or mine ANY nether ore
i learnt that the hard way
but vampire pigmen on the other hand will attack you all the time
they dont take damage from amything else but a stick
like literally just a regular wooden stick you craft with 2 planks
but yeah the nether is extremly dangerous

Eat a lot of food to get hearts.
Find a dark node, make a killing chamber with diamond spikes. Loads of items to equip yourself with early, smelt for iron, gold and steel and mainly get TONS of levels with that enchantment that makes you lose XP instead of dying.
Make thaumcraft Fortress armor.
Then you're pretty much unkillable, made it to HV in one world before I stopped playing.
That was before food gave hearts though so an angry pigman once one tapped me with all of the above (except more hearts)

it's just you and the game, no mobs
but if you fail the minesweeper there will be explosions and if you fail to get any loot it can spawn zombies/lava

You get 3 chances so it's very unlikely that you'll fail, and the loot is pretty good
