My EoH is currently 9/7/7. That gives 0.66 universium/s. Upgrading to 9/9/9 gives 1.6 universium/s. Not bad, almost a 2.5x speedup. However, if you build an astral array instead, you'll instead multiply your universium production by 8, giving 5.24/s. Way better.

that is if you run t10 on 877, which you cant, but even with that fact, an 877 with AA is 2.14 universium/s and a 999 eoh with no AA is 1.59/s, so 877 with AA is 1.3x faster
though this becomes really worth it if you can afford to double OC the 877 eoh
in that case its 3.1/s for 999 (1 OC) vs 8.5/s for 877 with AA (2 OC), which is 2.7x faster
999 with 2 OC needs 1.49P EU/t to run and gives 6.3 uni/s

Making an AA isn't much more expensive than upgrading to 999 but it boosts production so much more
