#Using state detection for on demand BM slates and recursive TC infusion

One blood magic altar for all slate recipes! Hassle free recursive runic matrix infusion! It's useful for any processing machine which uses the same slot for both input and output, if one recipe's output is another recipe's input.
I wish I thought of this technique years ago.

Note: I discovered this technique in divine journey 2 but it works in any pack with projectred and ae2.
Note 2: If the storage bus level emitter inventory reporting is too slow, repeaters can be added as inputs to the AND gate.

Didn't quite understand how it works, but looks very useful.
Cool. Will definitely try it sometime

I figured out a way to simplify this further, using xnor and relying on one tick extracts. The idea is that light blue has a delayed signal of one item set and orange has a regular level emitter signal of the inverted item set. It turns out the truth table over time in both cases leads to the xnor gate flickering off indicating the item has changed state. in this setup the gray storage bus has no config, light blue and orange storage busses both have same config but one has an inverter card. This setup will pulse once to extract the item and pulse once after the item is extracted, so for it to work smoothly you either need a 2 step reset counter in the image, or a delay line on blocking input to the altar.

Advantages of this new design:

  • you only have two storage busses to configure, they both need just the same config so its harder to mess up. The actual config could be either odd steps or even steps, for example T1, T3, T5 slates on both storage buses, or T0 (the t1 mat) + T2 + T4. The effective truth table over time works for both
  • Only uses one face of the block in question thanks to gray subnet, no need for using extra faces
  • Fewer components (3 storage bus, 2 level emitter 2 interface, 5 gates, one transfer node) versus previous (4 storage bus, 4 level emitter, 6 gates)

Just use forming press with name mold, much easier

alternatively, just shove a bunch of slates into a chest the inserts into an altar and manually set the filters for what to output

i like your method of a 1tick pulse, i had no idea pr could do that, i have still relied on old vanilla mechanics (piston repeater sand) 🤣 need to look into that mod in more detail

#

Also does this mean transfer nodes can reliably transfer a singular item when pulsed in a single tick? (assuming they can be redstone controlled)

You also can't screwdriver the pulse former in an IC sadly

Forming press name mold is pretty clever way too

This does not work in the infusion altar in this version of thaumcraft

Actually that might have been changed so I'm not 100% sure. I tested it a while ago and it did not work, but I also experienced a bug with the adept essentia diffusion cell where the recipe EXPECTED space coolant cells with an EMPTY nbt tag, but ae mangled them to instead have NO nbt tag, and the matching was so strict that this broke it. However, that seems to be resolved in 2.6.1 so maybe nbt matching for renamed items was also fixed ?

Good question, I would be curious too. I remember some infusions were nbt picky but not all of them, more depending on the specific item and whether it likes to include trash nbt, ic2 is notorious for that.

I use it to make grandmaster diffusion cell and blood magic shit

Ah okay so you would name the input slates so they don't get taken out by automation when trying to craft different tiers?
