The 'Mystery Arrows' from 'Mine & Blade Battlegear 2' will, if they hit a player, spawn a diamond. This happens even if they're shot from a dispenser or such.
They are also easy to craft, requiring only a cookie and a arrow. Cookies can be made in bulk just by farming wheat and cocoa beans, and arrows are available en-mass from mob farms.
This means that you can easily get a lot of diamonds early on.

Mass breeding villagers for trees, and i noticed i got diamonds from somewhere while doing it. Figured out it came from when the arrow hit me

Someone is gonna figure out how to power a base with diamonds with this

it requires a player so its not particularly automatable
there's afk'ing at your spawn point while a dispenser shoots but very quickly your graves will get in the way
unless they don't cause damage, ig. which could be the easiest nerf tbh
since if it does cause damage then by the time its easy to make sure you don't die from them they're also basically useless
the only time this could be useful meta for diamond power is steam afaict
diareed and fishing traps already exist so its not even making something nonrenewable into renewable
