Hello Everyone!

** UPD. 2.8.0 ver.*

I'm going to introduce you to our three unofficial GTNH servers that you probably already know.
We are CIS / EU community with English-speaking Ukranian and Russian people.

  1. Dedicated server. Standing in Finland since 2019. Included in the official list of unofficial GTNH servers 🙃

  2. Ryzen 7700 hardware, 2 SSDs in raid 0, 4 TB each. RAM 128 GB. Loading and generation is instant.

  3. The server is non-commercial.

  4. There are no plugins, only FTB-mod, because there is an Pure Forge core for maximum performance.

  5. Home and Spawn teleport commands are available.

  6. We have 3 separate servers, each are on 2.8.0 and whole Inline with official-servers:
    The old one since 2019
    Fresh one since 2022
    Second Fresh since 2022

  7. Privates and initial chunk-loading are implemented through Server Utilites.
    1024+ private chunks per person and 99+ chunks per free download.
    Overworld and other worlds are limitless.
    Wipe worlds (any, except for Over) passes only when it is necessary to update the generation of new or changed ores. Overworld wipe is not carried out unless it is required by the assembly developers themselves.
    Generation of the world and ore according to the original settings of the modpack. No changes.

  8. Each server has it's own bot for "ingame to Discord" chat-channel. For online-to-offline discussion

  9. Explosions are turned off in the locked chunks so that there is no reason to drop the game. At the same time, errors in connecting electricity still lead to the loss of a single machine.

  10. Pollution is OFF

  11. Only for licensed guys and girls 🤠

To play you need:

  1. Place your world in the ...\world\ folder (now there is a freshly generated new world for example)
  2. Start the server with the file start.bat
  3. Connect with a regular GTNH client of the corresponding version and play (❗❗❗for 2.2.3 in the client, remove the NotEnoughIDs-1.4.3.4.jar❗❗❗ mod)

Since version 2.2.0.0, THERE IS NO NEED TO MAKE SYMLINKS!

Also desirable:

  1. Set up a whitelist. Now your server is a front yard. (...\storage\whitelist.json, ...\settings\server.yml - settings: whiteList: true)
  2. Set the path of aroma backups to another disk to avoid (...\config\aroma1997\AromaBackup.cfg)
  3. Add yourself to the server owner role (...\settings\permissions\users.yml)
  4. Set the size of the memory allocated to the server. The default is 12288 MB (...\ultramine_server_run_line.bat)

for linux, add the line -DAsyncLogger.WaitStrategy=Block to unload percent from a glitch with the logger

Can not recommend the server, there are many weird limitations that only mods know (or maybe just come up with them on the go). For example not allowing to use a mobfarm, not allowing to use ender fluid conduits as player wants, telling someone that they have too many void miners and they have to remove them etc. It is presented as "fighting lags", which doesnt justify any of the cases above. Server works stable, but players should be ready to remove or change whatever mods would want them to, no matter if its reasonable or not, and which definitely was not presented in any rules.

I, as admin who also fully did the pack to stargate, I don't place limitations out of thin air, I know what causes lag and what doesn't and what is reasonable to do for each tier.
You are free to not recommend, of course, but I will clear some facts:

  1. You haven't played since February 2024 (I don't consider re-applying to whitelist and logging in for 8 minutes as playing), so I am not sure why you are writing this now, but whatever.
  2. List of optimization recommendations is now available, and yes, it took time to make it, but it's not like we came wiping the base. All that happened is me(usually) coming and saying "please replace X with Y, it will be less load on the server".
  3. Mob farms based on actually spawning mobs in the world tend do be designed poorly, and mobs cause lag (items clog up and such). Mind you, we give full chunkloading that is persistent across respawns, not personal/passive anchors from railcraft. Extreme Entity Crusher also exists and once it is reached there is almost 0 reason to spawn mobs in the world.
  4. Fluid conduits were never restricted as you say. What causes lag is if you have a ton of inputs and outputs of the same colors connected to single ender IO color(edit: item conduits included in this), which causes N(inputs) * M(outputs) to be checked each tick, especially if they are full. It's also recommended to move to AE ASAP for most of this.
  5. I am sorry, but the players you are talking about had access to Space Elevator forever. Purely from progression standpoint it is dumb to have void miners, when space elevator produces much more ore. And yes, some void miners in 1 or 2 dimensions(for instance, deep dark) make sense because some specific ores are not present in elevator (at least as of 2.6.1), but from experience, you don't need that many of them.
  6. We don't take any money for chunkloading, server access (not anymore), no P2W, crates, nothing. All we want is for players to have good experience and server running below 20TPS is not a good experience, as then everything runs slower, all the machines. I do tend to fight lag more aggressively if it's close or, especially, if it's below 20 TPS, but tell me the time, when I just came and didn't give a better solution together with asking to remove something.
    Probably could go on, but will leave it at this.

Oh, and last part. It's not like I fight lag jsut by nagging players. There have been multiple times, where I went and cherry-picked some future commits, or written something on my own, to fix lag so the players have a better experience now, instead of in 3 months, when the update hits. Sure, players don't actually notice this because I deliberately do them server side only.

as a past player on Zvezdolet I would like to address and clarify the "not allowing" part:

a) I never once saw admins try to forbid the tier-appropriate items. Hoppers, the tps annihilator, at start-lv? absolutely allowed, you literally don't have any other options. Conduit spam before like luv, when you can print ME components for basically free? yeah it literally is not prevented. Just use tier appropriate methods, as the pack design itself intends you to, and you're clean
b) There is no punishment, generally. No rush either. Usually admins ask you to change something or inform that thing you use might lag and be bad for the server. Most of us comply out of good will / it takes barely any effort to fix issues at that point of the game, not because evil admins will ban people.
c) "the only mods know" part is extremely ignorant. You can't always know something will cause issues until issues are present. You can't know all the bugs and all the lag sources.
d) Mobfarms. That's the funny part. There are community mobfarms on at least two out of three servers, that are properly designed to not lag too much. And they are literally made by admins (who actually play on the server btw). This is a solved problem and it is that way almost from the start.

I didn't restrict you from playing, you had a bunch of 128 slot super buses on 1 machine, which was causing lag due to recipe checks being complicated with multislot. I told you you can have multiple machines, just don't make 1 with a bunch of slots. That's it.

As Georggi sad, you made "Rage quit" by yourself, because nobody wanted to do it the way you wanted.

You wanted one stocker button and you demanded from us to implement a BETA-branch of the pack in a straight manner and didn't listening arguments for optimization you playstyle. It's your own rage manner.

In fact yes, I do have a backup of that world, it was just causing some issues on 2.6 update, so I copied it out of the world folder as it was an unused dimension at that point
